IPhone 6 plus won't take a picture or video in regular sms messaging mode
when messaging app is open and I want to take a picture or video for a non iMessage user it just shows a black screen with the camera or video circles. Operating on 8.1.1
Close out of the camera and message app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss. Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Then check again.

I have an iPhone 6 plus, and for the last 2 weeks I've been having messaging problems with both iMessage and SMS. With some people, mainly those with Android phones, I wouldn't receive their texts at all! They would get mine but I wouldn't get a reply. I went DAYS without getting any messages from them. I have gone to T-Mobile 4 times, they reset my phone to factory settings, gave me a new sim card, reset the network settings, and then replaced my phone... For a few days, the messages were working fine. Tonight, I had to wait 20 minutes for a picture message to be sent to my boyfriend, who has a Galaxy S5 - a few days ago, it would send with no problem (I literally didn't have to wait more than 30 seconds for the picture to send). My friend just called me to ask if I had received any of her iMessages from today - I had not. Another friend has been trying to send me picture messages for days - they say "delivered" but do I see them? NO. I was having the same issue with my previous 6 plus, which is why they gave me a replacement, and look what's happened! More messaging issues. This is getting ridiculous. I NEVER had messaging issues on my iPhone 5s. NEVER. And to make matters worse, I was getting 4 bars of service on my last 6 plus, but this replacement is only getting 1 or 2 (if I'm lucky) NO MATTER WHERE I AM IN THE HOUSE. I have called T-Mobile customer service multiple times and they keep saying it's a hardware issue. Really? On both phones? Great.
Does anyone else have these issues? Is there some magic spell I can do that will fix these messaging problems? Or should I just go back to my 5s?Start with soft reset then reset network settings and a possible Sim card reseat. Careful they pop out when using an earring or paperclip to remove.

My IPhone 6 plus won't send group texts. It will if i delete the group and recreate the group but if i continue to send texts in that group it will only send to an Iphone acount and not other cell phone brands.

My Iphone 4 will not send regular SMS messages. I have tried resetting my phone and by restoring and making sure i have SMS turned on. I receive them but can not send them. imessages work also. Plus my cellular data keeps randomly turning off. any ideas? Thank you
Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

Set up DROPBOX account on computer and upload pictures to computer.

You shouldn't, but all of this should be on your computer anyway.
You should not update/upgrade/restore/etc without making sure that everything is backed up. -
my iphone 5S will send texts as imessage but frequently switches to regular (green) messages even for people that I know use imessage - since we have exchanged (blue) messages previously. Is there something I can do to fix this or is it a unit problem?
Please help.You can try to log out of iMessage and then sign back in. However, even under optimal conditions, iMessage will not always work. That's why the option of 'Send as SMS' is so important. There might be temporary outages in the related iMessage servers.

Iphone 6 plus won't autoplay music when connecting to Bluetooth
When I get into my car, my phone connects to my stereo through bluetooth automatically, but the iPhone won't play music. Instead the music is paused. So I manually have to hit the play button. I checked the settings on my radio and there is nothing about auto playing music. I had a Samsung Note 3 that did the same thing, but there was an option in the app that enabled "Autoplay on connect". I don't see anything like that on my iPhone 6 plus.

Iphone 6 plus won't play video in browser or youtube app?
I've seen this issue in other forums too. I'm running the latest iOS update as well (8.1.1). Videos in Safari never start playing. There is just a spinning icon. In the YouTube app, sometimes there is audio, but never a picture.
As a sidenote, I attempted to post this from my iphone 6 plus, but the mobile version of the site had a lot of bugs (the text in this window wouldn't appear on screen, so I had to guess what I was typing, for one).Hello Xt1ncT,
It may help to force close all open apps, then restart your iPhone.

IPhone 6 Plus won't connect to 2.4ghz networks but can see them
I just got an iPhone 6 plus that won't connect to any 2.4ghz networks. It will either say wrong password or unable to connect.
On my home network I had to change the band to 5ghz to be able to use my wifi and not all of my home devices are compatible.
Places that I went to test wifi:
McDonald's
Starbucks
Local Sports bar
Friends house
Does anyone know a fix? I tried resetting the phone, resetting network settings numerous times, turning off wifi networking in the privacy settings. Nothing seems to work and I am super frustrated. Can someone help?I have tried replacing the phone, updating router firmware, running namebench to find fastest DNS, multiple reboots of phone and router, nothing helps. 5GHz band works like a charm but it doesn't penetrate to all rooms of the house. One guy said problem was solved by running beta version of iOS 8.2 but I don't know how to download it. Any success?

After 8.1.1, iPhone 6 plus won't download music, apps, or podcasts
After installing 8.1.1, my iPhone won't download anything. No music, podcasts, apps, nothing. I can download anything I like on my laptop, then push it to the iPhone 6 plus through iTunes. But I can't download anything using the phone itself. I chatted with an apple specialist and he instructed me to reset all settings. I did, and my phone downloaded the podcasts and music I had been trying to download. But after a few hours (and changing zero settings), it stopped downloading anything again. FWIW ,I do not and never have installed the Wall Street Journal app.

New iphone 6 plus set up went well. Was able to back up from past backups. But now won't back up or sync. Keep getting error message at last step. No error message number
I got also a new iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB - I restored it from a Backup of an iPhone 4 - this was successful. After this I tried to get an iCloud-Backup (connecting with power, wifi and locked). But there was no successful Backup. I called the Apple Support two times, they gave me some very interesting solutions, but it won't work. Then I was looking to my Apps like Voice-Recorder, Voice-Memo, Genius-Scan, Music, they were full of files. I saved them on my MacBook and then I deleted them from the iPhone. After this it was working, I got my first automatically Backup with iCloud!

I Just tried to play a movie off of my iPhone 6 plus ios 8.1 on my tv using the hdmi adapter, the movie plays for about 2 secs and then tells me the device is not authorized to play protected movies.. I have power rebooted my phone closed everything out and it stil isn't working.. I can do anything else like view web pages and Netflix just not purchased movies from iTunes.. Oh and it worked before the update I used it several times..

The more data you give us, the easier it is to help us help you to diagnose your problem. Your disk space would be very useful. Contrary to some, I advocate iDefrag to assist VLC and MPlayer, which you were a little hard on.

MPlayer was developed a decade ago, and I prefer it for viewing DVDs (for 'DVD Player') seems too dark. VLC (legally) copies many CRM-protected DVDs of yours, so you can play only the burned copy. When I'm having a problem playing a DVD, the VLC log tells me all: only perfect DVDs play well on VLC.
There are two ways of viewing everything.
Streaming MPEG-4
+H.264/MPEG-4 AVC+ is a fancy codec based upon MPEG-4: it requires a powerful processor to de-compress it. I watched an MPEG-4 movie from a G3 iBook in 2005. It played flawlessly.
Your Problem
Quicktime 7.X applications can not play +H.264/MPEG-4 AVC+ streams. It was a bug Apple never fixed. Frames are dropped because H.264 is so slow that it requires special hardware. You, I'm sad to say, don't have it.
To quote the Wikipedia on Quicktime: 'QuickTime 7 lacks support for H.264's Sample Aspect Ratio .[67] QuickTime X does not have this limitation; many Apple products (such as iTunes and Apple TV) still use the older QuickTime 7 engine.'
My Quicktime Pro on a PPC PowerBook is 7.6.4. You can either use a Linux transplant or upgrade to Quicktime X. Those more familiar with Macs may have better ideas for you.

IPhone 6 plus won't rotate to landscape - small lock with circle around it
I have an iPhone 6 plus - and I have an small icon that is a padlock with a circle around it - how do I unlock the screen orientation lock?
Can I assume that when the iPhone Screen is rotated to Landscape, and the display adjusts appropriately, users are then Swiping Up from the Bottom [now Long edge], then hitting the Lock-Unlock Icon, and the iPhone is Locked into Landscape?
If I do, as described, the Swiped Up Control Centre covers the entire screen.
When I hit the Lock-Unlock Icon a blurred image of the Display can be seen Rotating back to Portrait View.
I am being very careful to ensure that the iPhone remains horizontal during the above action.
To Close the Control Centre I have to Swipe it Downward form the Top [now Long Edge].
Now being forced to revert to using Portrait View I Swipe Up for the Bottom [now Short Edge].
When the Lock-Unlock Icon is hit a Message pops up saying the Portrait View has been Unlocked.
Clearly these actions are not producing the results expected in my case.
I would appreciate being able to use the iPhone Locked in Landscape View because of the need to view Bus Timetables very frequently.
Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong, or actions toward resolution will be greatly appreciated.
