IPhone 6 Rattles when shaken?

Anyone notice a rattle with their new iPhone 6 when they shake it? I think something is loose in mine. I will probably take it into the apple store once the commotion of launch weekend dies down. Just curious if anyone else has the same issue.

Hey there,
Mine also has a rattle at the top if you shake it slightly.
My friend has the same one and bought it at the same store with me and there is actually no rattle in his one.
Might be a good idea like you said to take it once all the commotion dies down.

  • My iphone 5 rattles when i tap it on the upper right corner and lower left corner.  also when it vibrates or when i shake it

    what should i do?

I went to the store last night and they switched it for me... i tried one phone but it had the same rattle so they gave me another one. now i am home with the 2nd-replacement and there is still a slight rattle, but nothing as obvious as my original phone i recevied in the mail.  I am very upset because other people i know who also got the 5 do not have this issue at all.
i also asked to make sure that i received a NEW phone to replace my 5 day old iphone 5 and he told me they are all new replacements since its a brand new model, so they dont have refurbished ones yet. however it was in a small white box at the apple store. does anyone agree with this? i believed his answer.....but does anyone think i shouldn't?

  • IPhone Rattles When Internal Vibrate Mechanism Is Activated

I noticed about a month ago that my iPhone started rattling when the internal vibrate mechanism is activated. Also, when I shake the iPhone, I can hear the internal vibrate mechanism move around. Has anybody else had this problem?
    Thanks.

Sorry, not sure... I've just read about it, never experienced it. Perhaps someone else can chime in that has experienced it. I'm sure you'll find more info with a Google search.

  • IPhone 6 rattle

I know that this is a topic that has been done to death for previous iPhone releases... but I would be interested to hear thoughts on the new iPhone 6, is this still a factor of the phone's design.
My iPhone 6 rattles when I tap the top portion of the screen, if you turn the phone over and tap it along the top band below the camera lens the rattle becomes slightly more pronounced.
I spoke to Apple chat last night and was told that this is normal and that it is the auto focus lens. He also said that it could be the gyro or another moving part housed in the top of the phone. Do other people have similar noise?? I haven't been able to get to an apple store to tap their demo phones!
I am content to accept it as 'normal' if others are experiencing similar.

Having taken apart previous iPhone models, it's definitely in the camera assembly, so more than likely the 5 element lens.

  • I have an iPhone 5 and when i lightly tap on the back top part of my phone it sounds like something is rattling inside. Only on the top part of the phone, not on the bottom. I am wondering if anyone knows what this may be and should i have it looked at?

Definitlely have it looked at. That could be a hardware deffect on the maker(apple) so there could be a definite replacement option.

  • My iPhone 5s rattles internally when I shake it. (it's not the home button)

I've only had my iPhone 5s for 2 days but I just noticed that when I shake it, there is a rattling sound coming from inside the phone. I've done some research on this and found similar complaints from other people who also said their 5s rattles, but the big difference between their complaints and mine is that the majority of other people's complaints is that their iPhone 5s rattles from the Home button which seems to be accepted as a normal thing, while my iPhone 5s' Home button does NOT rattle when I shake it, and the source of the rattling sound is internal, behind the screen. It sounds like some small piece got dislodged and is now moving around freely when I shake it. It also seems to come from somewhere near the top half of my phone, not the bottom.
Obviously I'm a bit concerned about this, especially since this is a product by Apple, which is not known for shoddy build quality (yes, even despite that their products are assembled in China, Apple still tends to have good build quality).
I'm not overly OCD, but when things rattle it bothers me because 1. It's simply annoying and 2. It's only normal to assume that something may have broken inside and now I have doubts whether my brand new iPhone 5s is even working at 100% or not.
Does anyone else have the same problem I have? Please don't reply with Home button issues as I've stated clearly that my issue is NOT coming from the Home button but rather elsewhere, internally. If you are knowledgeable about my situation please let me know what the problem is and how I can resolve it, thanks!
If it matters at all my 5s is the gold one with 32GB.

It will be the camera, the lens need a moveable bit so it can autofocus.
It was like that on the iphone 4S too.
Some rattle louder than others but its nothing to worry about and Apple won't change it as a brand new one will also rattle.

  • IPhone 4s Rattling

I bought an iPhone 4s in June this year.
I've recently just noticed that the Power Button rattles, but also if I hold the power button down so that it doesn't rattle when I shake the phone I can hear something else just where the camera is rattling.
I have only dropped the phone once when I first got it, I didn't notice any rattling. Naturally I would have looked for things like this when I dropped my brand new iPhone, I had a bit of a freak out.
Could anyone tell me what this could be and how much it might cost to fix?
    Thank you

I'm having the same problem with my 32GB iPhone 4s. I called an Apple rep. just now and described the problem in full to him. His response was that up by the camera area inside the phone is like a bar with a weight on one side which allows the phone to vibrate. When the phone is on the vibrate setting it moves back and forth to vibrate the phone. It is directly behind the camera in the phone. I asked if it could be broken as it rattles even when my phone isn't on vibrate. He told me that it's not broken but it will cause a slight rattling noise even when the phone is not on vibrate or if you shake it or set it camera side down. I hope this helps because I know it answered my question.

  • How can i delete photos in a folder from my Iphone 4s.  when it was synced, the photos went to two folders and not to the camera roll

How can I delter photos in a folder from my Iphone 4s?  When I synced the new phone from the Itunes, the photos went to two folders and not the camera roll.

thanks, should I delete all the phones on Itunes and re sync the old phone, then resync the new phone to get the pictures?  Will they go to camera roll instead of a folder?

  • I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email then.  Is there a way to fix this?

I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email from the phone screen.  Is there a way to fix this so the phone doesn't have to be unlocked?

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.

Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the recognition troubles?

  • MY MOBILE IS IPHONE 5C BUT WHEN I LOGIN TO MU ID IT SHOWING INCORRECT PASSWORD

    HI
I HAVE APPLE IPHONE 5C BUT WHEN I LOGIN TO MY ID IT'S SHOWING LIKE INCORRECT PASSWORD
AND WHILE I AM DOING RESTORE IPHONE  IT DISCONNECTING IN MIDDLE OF THE PROCESS
THEN HOW CAN I ACTIVATION MY PHONE

When you say 'changed my email with the itunes store and have a new password' do you mean that you've changed the email address on that old account, or are you referring to a different account ?
If you've updated the old account then try logging out of the account on the phone by tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in with the updated version.
If they are different accounts then all apps (and other content from the store) are tied to the account that downloaded them, so only that account will be able to download updates to them. For apps like Twitter and Facebook you could delete them from the phone and redownload them via your account so that they are linked to that instead.
If there are apps that have content in them, and you can't copy that content off (so that you can delete the app, buy/download it on your account, and copy the content back), then you will need the password to the old account to be able to update them. You should be able to get it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com

HEY GUYS I AM USING AN IPHONE  3g and when i connect my device to my laptop a dialog box appears saying that an update of 4.2 is available so went for it.after the firmware is downloaded via itunes it shows that the firmware is invalid!.please help.
AND ALSO I HAVE HEARD THAT THE IPHONE 3G CANNOT BE UPDATED TO IOS 4.2!IS IT TRUE???
    PLEASE HELP ME.

This means that the phone you have was software unlocked to use on any carrier, or hacked. When you installed the update it restored the lock that originaly came with your phone. Not much you can do now. Apple will not support hacked phones. You will need to find out the carrier your phone is locked to and see if they offer official unlocking, or start googling to see if you can find a way to unlock 4.2.
