IPhone 6 ringtone issue

I am unable to change the ringtone on my iPhone 6. It shows on the screen that I have set a new ringtone but does not actually change the ringtone. Bug or something else??

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
Then try again to change the ringtone.

  • Android to iPhone Ringtone Issues

I recently received my new iPhone 4s and for some reason, my brain isn't wrapping around transferring the ringtones that I purchased through Verizon to it.  I don't have many - probably less than a dozen - but I don't want to buy them all over again.  Is there a definitive link/app/process that I can use to do this? The old phone was a Samsung Fascinate, but I don't think that matters.
    Thanks for any info!

        Hi vegasrenie,
I can set this straight for you and I'm sorry for any confusion. I use ringtones for different contacts, so I know they really come in handy.
If you purchased the ringtones from Verizon Wireless, you would have to purchase them again when you upgrade to a new phone. However, if you are using sound bytes from your previous phone that have been saved to your SD card, you can hook up that phone to your iMac and transfer the data from the SD card to the computer. You can then hook up the iPhone to the iMac and transfer the sound bytes from your iMac to your phone.
    Thank you,

  • Iphone/itunes/ringtone issues

Help!  I'm not normally so software-challenged, but I am having a heck of a time in getting ringtones onto my phone.  In the top left corner of itunes, where it says "Music-movies-books-etc" I have a ringtones folder, but cannot drop and save anything there.  I've purchased a ringtone app, and even just plain old ringtones through itunes trying to get it to work, but, no luck.  Can anyone help?  PM me if need be.  Thanks!

The ringtones have to be converted to play on the iPhone and be recognized in iTunes as such. If you purchased ringtones from iTunes (not just the song that you made a ringtone) then it would already be formatted correctly and automatically show in the ringtones folder. It would not show anywhere else in the library because of it's different extension. The correct extension for iPhone ringtones is .m4r. If you have made your own ringtones in iTunes you can use either a ringtone App or you can manually convert the file to work. You will first need to make sure that they were created as AAC files (more stable from my experience than keeping them as mp3 files). Locate the file and then change the extension from .m4a to .m4r. If your computer is not showing the extension you will need to make it do so (differs based on your operating system). Once you do this you will be able to click on the file to play it. It will automatically play in iTunes and that file will be in the ringtones folder.
Some people find the ringtone Apps easier to deal with...I already had ringtones made so all I had to do was change the extension...so it was easier for me to just do that. If I can find the more detailed website that tells you how to do it yourself I will post the link back here. My details weren't as detailed as they could have been...

  • How to Make Your Favorite iPhone Ringtones for Fre...

You bought an iPhone and love all its features, but wish you didn't have to pay for your songs twice to get a ringtone. (We know that iPhone, iPhone 3G Ringtones use the file extension .M4R. And the users must pay $2 for a piece of song through Apple iTunes store). There are plenty of songs in your music library, but no way to make ringtones from any of them. Rihgt?
Actually, with a little bit of trickery (nothing illegal) you can create ringtones from any one of your non-DRM songs.
This works on both Mac and Windows PCs.

    Adobe Pat 206
You cannot create a Premiere Elements (any version) DVD Template from scratch using Photoshop Elements (any version). To do that you need Photoshop CS or higher. The reason for "higher" is that earlier Photoshop versions do not support Layers Groups within the Layer Groups.
But, providing you find a version of Photoshop Elements on a given computer operating system that will open the Photoshop Layer Groups in its key structure (.psd file), you can use Photoshop Elements to edit (not create from scratch) the .psd file for the main and scene menus of a given existing Adobe theme. I am careful on my language here since there have been recent difficulties getting Photoshop Elements to do this job which it once did without issue.
The process is easy enough, but very detail dependant, with strict requirements for names files as well as Layer Groups, sublayers groups, and layers in the .psd file. To give you an idea of what is involved, please check out two articles I have written related to Premiere Elements DVD Template creation and customization.

Not placing the new menu in the correct directory and any error in spelling and such are just some of the ingredients for failure in this type of project.
Unless you want to add extra buttons to a menu, it might be easier for you to explore customization opportunties in the Movie Menu section of the program. See Tools/Movie Menus. The Movie Menus customization area should look like this
Note that the Adjustments...Menu Background shows Video or Stills among other things.
If you have questions on anything that I have written, please ask me here in your thread.
You can also check out the Adobe documentation on this type of topic.

  • Ringtones are not showing in iPhone ringtone folder.

I just bought a ringtone and it shows up in my iTunes ringtones folder, it even shows up in the iphone ringtones folder ON iTUNES, but I can't seem to get the ringtone to show up in the iPhone itself. Anyone know what's wrong? I live in California, so its not that foreign country problem I keep hearing about.

I am having the same problem! I make my ringtones on Audiko.net and download them directly to my iTunes. They play in my iTunes and appear in my ringtones folder, but when I got to sync the ringtones to my iPhone, they don't show up! The error msg says something about not being able to locate the file, yet i can see it clear as day in iTunes, it plays, and when i close iTunes and opem it again, it is still there. I have used Audiko.net before to make ringtones, and have seen that error msg before, but it never caused an issue - my ringtones would always sync. I have it programmed to automatically sync to sync everything in my iTunes, the phone is not jailbroken, is registered and is up to date. Please help! I don't know what to do.

  • Exporting iPhone Ringtones from iLife09 - Garageband.

    Hey all,
Having a slight hassel getting Garageband to export iPhone ringtones to iTunes... I have the latest updates for all programs, and I'm following the same process that used to work in iLife 08, it just doesn't seem to work.
Aside from this little thing not working for me, the program is A1!
    Any ideas would be helpful.
    Cheers,
    Dave.

I'll respond seeing as I'm having exactly the same issue. I create a sub 30 second loop, choose export ringtone to iTunes. A blue progress bar tells me the ringtone is being made, iTunes is booted and lo and behold, nothing appears in the ringtones area. More annoyingly, I have I've sucessfully done this before, but about 3 months ago it stopped working. I updated to iLife '09 (from '08) with no effect. I've downloaded M4r files from the web and dragged them into iTunes with no problem, but it refuses to play when exporting from Garageband. I don't think it's a protected file issue because I'm trying to do it with copyright free loops from Garageband.

  • N97 Ringtone Issues

Bought an N97 last Friday on release day in the UK.
Have had a whole host of NSeries phones from the N70, N73, N95/6 etc..
I use separate ringtones assigned to a range of about 10 contact groups and assign them from Contacts > Groups > Options > Ring Tone.  This then updates the ringtone for all the contacts in the group.
I also set default ringtones in all the Profiles that are not silent.
This was never a problem in previous Nseries phones but what I am finding is that at times I get the standard Nokia tune then next call will use the correct ringtone and after that it is the nokia tone again.  I am also getting a drop out in the tone about 2 secs in for about a second then starts ringing again.
I initially put this down to the fact that my phone is connected to computer and the mass storage and memory card are locked down, so with this in mind I moved them to the phone memory, not ideal but thought give it ago and I converted them to all 3gp files as assigning through the group would not show anything but 3gp or AAC.
However the issue still exists and is getting really annoying.  It is having no problem with ringtone selected for incoming mail, messages, calendar and alarm clock.
    Anyone else experiencing this?????

Had a problem with my N97 last night whereby whenever my girlfriend called, the phone would ring with the default Nokia tone. All other calls rang with my personalised ringtone.
After playing around with the phone I found the reason was I had tagged her picture onto her contact details but used a full 5MP photo. After editing the picture and dropping it down to 640*480 the phone rang with the tone i'd set.
It looks like due to the image size the phone was taking a while to display the caller image and then play the tone as well
Thought it would be worth a mention incase anyone else comes across this problem

Can you make iPhone ringtones (M4R) in Logic Express without GarageBand 08?
    If so how?
    Thanks,

Not exactly ... while you can make a ringtone with any application that you would like, Soundtrack Pro 2 and Logic do not have a conversion to the ringtone format. Mv4R or something like that. GarageBand does.
I answered my own question I guess
    Thanks anyway,

iPhone WiFi issue. I enter a password, click join, and get a message back that it is an incorrect password. I have several computers and other iPhones connected using the same password. Any ideas?

    Hey there Gordo456,
It sounds like you are not able to join your Wi-Fi network with the correct password on 1 out of many devices. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try these steps from further down the article:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling
