They do not know where your phone is yet because it has not had enough time to go through the process yet. I also started to worry when two weeks had passed and my iPhone 5S was still showing not received on the status website. That's when I joined this forum to see if anyone else was having the same problem. What I found out was that some people had been given reduced value for their trade in, but I also found posts from people like myself that were worried that their phone was lost and then came back and posted a week or two later that they had received their gift card.
I decided to chill and give it some time and about a week later my gift card arrived. If it had been for less than the promised amount I would no doubt still be upset and posting about it like the many posts I still see on here on a regular basis.
This is no doubt a popular program for Verizon. I would imagine there have been thousands of phones traded in. There are going to be at least some screw ups in the process. There is no point in getting ahead of yourself and assuming your case will be one of the screw ups unless it already is. Verizon has been consistently posting that it could take 4-6 weeks for processing. You will at some point likely hear the status on your traded-in phone. Patience would not hurt in this case.

    Probably will never ever think of buying a locked phone from AT&T cause its one of the worst system integrations ever that these companies could think of.
    The entire problem started when I put in a request with at&t to unlock my iphone 4s (ios7) which did get approved. I performed the entire instructions they asked me to do, which is to backup and restore. After doing those instructions my iphone gave me an error message below

    Basically saying that at&t hasn't still unlocked the iphone which a really helpful apple executive was able to confirm. I initiated another unlock process from at&t in order to unlock the iphone, just to be sure that its not something wrong from my end. The nice at&t lady stayed on chat with me to unlock the iphone step my step while I was calling the apple tech too. And the apple tech confirmed again that the iphone is locked to at&t.
    Now, just a few minutes ago I tried another restore to see if any progress is being made and to my surprise I got an error message saying
    Replacement Needed. This iphone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest apple store or authorized service center.
    I feel like I am just going around these two different "money hogger" companies which set certain rules and regulations to screw a regular phone buyer. I purchased this iphone in USA and trying to unlock in India, is it really this hard to simply unlock a device.
    For now I am going to try to call a apple office in india (apprently we don't have very many out here) and see if they can help me. But any other assistance regarding unlocking an iphone 4s would be helpful. I have however, tried checking IMEI.info, called up apple, talked to at&t (which always say go talk to apple) I do have a case number from apple as well in case an apple executive reads this discussion forum (case number: 566383594)

    You got a confirmation from AT&T that it was authorized. Is this correct? - Yes i did get an email authorization on the 21st.
    Then you connected the phone to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. You clicked on the phone's name in iTunes, then clicked "Backup Now". - Yes
    When that finished you clicked "Restore iPhone" (NOT "Restore Backup") - Yes
    Are you with me so far? - Yes.
    And @ Varjak is right that after the 3rd restore I get the replacement error. 
    Plus I have NEVER jailbroken the iPhone. To give you another update, I spoke to a really nice apple tech in India who was atleast able to get me out of the replacement error by doing a recovery mode option. However, the lastest restore still gives me the same error

    My Mac book pro which is just one and half years old got dead suddenly. My Protection plan got over and the local authorised service center says the logic board is dead and it has to be replaced. The cost for the same which they are telling is Rs.47500 and another Rs.30000 for the display. Its really sad that a new Mac book pro is costing only Rs65000 in the Indian Market. Please help....I have saved lot of money to buy this Mac and its very sad that it goes off in less than 2 years time.

    i bought a 2TB Time Capsule in Sep 2010. its just failed last week, less than 2 months after the expiry of the 12month warranty.

    ceeb28744.  Welcome to the Apple Users Support Community.  Sorry to hear your TC died!  You said it was a 2TB so I would guess it be the model A1355/MB997LL/A or MC344LL/A.  Believe it or not all users of these time capsules will eventually experience this problem like you have.  There is a 99.5% (or better) chance that the only thing that is wrong with it is the internal power supply.  If you will go to this site.... https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repair  and once there look over at the left side and you will find:
    Apple Time Capsule Repairers    and from that list you will be able to choose from a list of individuals that could repair your TC and have it returned to you fully operational again.  The individuals on the list are hardware technicians and they can save you a lot of money and time.

    Syncing requires a backup as part of the sync process.
    Delete any existing backups in iTunes under Edit > Preferences > Devices (or simply move them to a different folder on the computer) then try a backup or sync.

  • I have difficulty charging my iphone 5. The nearest service center said that there are missing pins in my lightning connector.

    My phone is still under warranty but the service center said that it is voided due to the missing pins inside the lightning connector.  What do i do with this? My phone can charge but you need to press on the cord a little for it to click.  My cord is not the issue because I just bought it and it is brand new.

    Well, your service is handled by an Authorized Apple Service Center. If they refuse to handle the claim, that is well within their rights. Apple as well could void a claim under the same circumstances. I'm not saying that you did or did not modify the device, but you could try and talk to a supervisor there and make another request.   • Can an authorized service center refuse to provide payed service?

    My iPod Touch 5g bent about 3-4 degrees in my pocket, works fine but looks weird. I know  mechanical damage voids the warranty, but it's not catastrophic damage, more like cosmetic and I read that Apple can replace such devices for money. But we don't have Apple stores in Russia, only authorized service centers. I contacted the one I have in my town and they said they can't do anything for devices that have physical damage. I'm wondering if they have an obligation as part of being an authorized center and just don't want to deal with it (the guy on the phone sounded scetchy)

  • Iphone screen broken

    I dropped and cracked my iPhone 5 (ios7, I THINK) screen badly, it was at first still 100% functional but then randomly (the touch screen) stopped working completely (if you touch it the notifications might bounce a little up and down) and now there are two thin purple and green lines on the screen and part of the screen is completely black. I can still see all notifications I get and still see calls Im receiving I just cant do anything because I am unable to unlock or do anything with my iPhone. I tried using siri to get to the unlock screen by asking her to go to my contacts (which worked but when I get to the unlock screen I try and try and nothing happens). Im wondering if I will only have to get the screen fixed seeing as the phone is still working and receiving all txts and calls or will I have to get a brand new phone? Also Im wondering if there is a way to connect my phone to my computer, in its current condition, and retrieve all my pictures off of it (reminder I cant unlock my phone) because if I will have to get a new phone or if it breaks any further I would really like to still have all my pictures and im not sure when the last time I backed up my phone was or if Ive even really set up my icloud (or whatever it is called (see im not even sure the name of it let alone if ive set it all up)) in order to have all my information and data saved. please help.

    The warranty does not cover accidental damage. Apple may offer you a replacement, but this will come at a cost.
