IPhone 6 sounds distorted through car bluetooth

When I use my phone through my car's speaker system, the sound is very distorted and cracking.  This was NOT a problem with my 5S

Hi debtrigg,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your new phone. If you are having issues with distorted audio via Bluetooth on your car's stereo with your iPhone 6, you may find some of the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

Connecting my iPhone 4S with 3rd party composite cable; error "accessory not supported by iphone".  Sound comes through and it charges but NO Video???  I have verified the cable, I can play video with sound from iPod Nano 4th gen.

composite don't support mirror so it will only display on the tv when the app being used support tvout option
the build in video app does so it should display on the tv at least my composite cable does with my iphone4
the audio always works it's pretty much works like a headset

  • My wife's iphone 4s connects to the car bluetooth but handsfree doesn't work.

This used to work fine.  She can make a call by dialing a number on the cars touch screen, but the call only comes through on the phone.
If I connect my 3GS to the car then it works perfectly - sound comes through the speakers and the microphone in the car is active.
What did she do to turn this off and how can we turn it back on again?
    We have tried:
    - Unpairing and re-pairing the phone
    - Telling the iPhone to forget this device
    - Turing off Siri
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

In the end I tried a full reset (press and hold the top button and front button for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo shows).  Then, after re-pairing, everything was back to how it should be.
I thought I would post that here in case anyone has the same problem because I didn't find an answer in my searches.

  • Can i link my iphone to a built in car bluetooth

Can anyone help me with this, i am lucky enough to have a car with bluetooth capability i would like to know if i can sync my iphonw with the car bluetooth, i have to go the dealer and pay to have the connection opened but no point if doesnt work,
    thanks guys

Yes it will link. Put the iphone and car bluetooth functions in to search mode and the phone should detect the in-car setup. You may then have to enter a passcode which should be in the car manufacturers hand book. Mine works that way and it paired first time.
It links to the bluetooth in both my cars (Merc and Range Rover) but for some stupid reason, the iphone contacts list no longer displays on the in-car screen. My old iphone did do this but the new one doesn't. Which is really annoying.

  • Audio sound distorted through headset

Hi, I am having an irritating problem with audio distortion through headphones on my 2 month old Z2
Sound quality is really tinny and unbalanced and is almost entirelly cancelling out any vocal. Imagine listening to a song being played in the next room.
External speaker play back is fine.
Headphones which are Marshall Monitors are working fine on other phones that I have and work fine on the Z2 for phone calls.
When headphones are being used for music -
It is happening via various streamed live radio and music players inc Deezer, youtube and BBC tv iplayer, cached music on Deezer, as well as mp3 format music on the SD card.
There doesn't seem to be an issue with phone call quality.
Software is all up to date following a factory reset.
This all leads me to think its a software issue with audio playback rather than hardware.
    Help please!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Have you added any sound effects via Settings > Sound > Sound effects? You could also try to change the audio accessories via Settings > Audio accessories > Other, to see if you experience the same behaviour.
Otherwise, you can also try another pair of headphones/headset to see if same thing occurs. Prefer a Sony headset.

  • Connecting music through car bluetooth kit

I can successfully conect my iPhone to my car using a blueooth car kit (Volvo). This is fine for telephone calls and is marvelous. My problem is how do I connect the ipod function and hear my music through the car audio system. Is it something I need to do to the iPhone or to the bluetooth car kit. There is no obvious connection and the car kit gives no advice in the hand book so I am worried that it may not be possible. Any successful experiences and if so, what do I need to do?

    Hi,
In our Volvo V50 Edition II (Netherlands, 2008) we have the iPod connector option installed and it works great with my iPhone and iPod Nano (3rd gen). It's well worth the price and you can control your iPhone through the steering wheel and/or the audio system. You can browse through songs, folders, artists and playlists.
The bluetooth carkit is a Motorola IHF1000 (at least I think it is) which mutes the audio when calls are made.
With the Volvo iPod connector you will get an iPod connector and also an USB connector, the last one for connecting USB memory sticks with your favorite MP3's.

  • Listening to ipod/apps(pandora) through car bluetooth

I have no trouble with using my iphone for calls on my bluetooth in my car. Now I want to be able to use the ipod function or apps like pandora to listen to music through it. It must be possible, I just want to figure out how to do it.

One solution for Pandora is to use a 3.5 mm input if you car has one. My car actually has a usb port, which enables me to charge the phone and listen to the ipod part thru the radio, but in order to use Pandora, I had to go the 3.5 mm jack route.

  • IPhone no longer plays through car stereo after OS 4 upgrade.

My wife and I upgraded to OS 4 on 6/21. Both will no longer play or charge through the USB connection to our car stereos. We both have Kenwood decks but different models.

    Hi,
i'm in europe right now and last night my iPhone showed me the 20% warning message but i didn't had time to charge it, so this morning it's dead:
nothing happens at all - not through USB, not through the charger - tested it for about 15 minute each.
Any idea what happend and what i could try? I'm back in the States in a week, so i don't really want to believe that it is really dead - any chances that i'm doing something wrong?
If you had the "20% warning" and you failed to charge it.. it DIED!! Normally, when you run the battery completely dead..it takes a lil' while to start showing you the "battery icon". Instead of disconnecting it and trying to find where else to plug it.. Just let it rest for a while and you may see some results.

  • Iphone 5 transferring contacts through BMW Bluetooth

My Iphone5 wont transfer contacts via bluetooth on a 2013 BMW x5.  Its works fine in a 2008 BMW..My Iphone4 works perfectly in the 2013.  Spoke to Apple they said it was BMW.  Met with the tech specialist at the BMW dealer, they said its Apple.  Any insight would be appreciated.

I had the same problem... The fix for my phone was 3rd party characters added into the contact names (i.e. emoji icons next to the contact name). I deleted all the emoji icons and rebooted the bluetooth connection and it worked fine.
    Hope this helps.

  • Any way at all to STOP sounds coming through bluetooth?

Whoever designed this should be strung up...
Is there any way to STOP sounds coming through my bluetooth headset? It is so incredibly distracting when I'm on a call and the stupid calendar goes off, I hear an email come in, a text message, etc.
I have an iPhone 4 and Plantronics Voyager Pro.
I know one way is to turn on the mute switch on my iPhone, but I don't want to do that like 8 million times a day.
I'd simply like to NOT hear everything ringing in my ear when I'm trying to have a simple conversation.
    Anyone?

I'm assuming you have an A2DP compatible headset. If so, see if you can disable A2DP on the headset. You can do so on the Jawbone Icon, not sure about others.
To my knowledge, there is no way to disable A2DP on the iphone itself.

  • Iphone 6 sounds sometimes Disorted on phonecall

    hello,
on some phone calls the sound is sometimes - especially when the other participant is speaking loud -  very distorted and crackling through the built in  speaker or loudspeaker or through car Bluetooth connection. Not through the whole call, but on loud sentences. This never happend before with my iPhones. If I am not mistaken it happens only on gsm calls and not with 3G calls. Problem happens with different participants. Also with different ios versions up to 8.1.1. Complete reset and restore also did not help. Can anyone help or noticed same issues?
    cheers
    d

It looks like people are generally experiencing this same issue but calling it by different names.  To me, screen-edge responsiveness is where I most often see the issue ...but I also have tapped App several times to get them to open.  Unfortunately this was most frequent for me on the bottom of the screen ...thus the Phone, Mail, Safari and Music Apps.  I also noticed it somewhat randomly on the touch-screen.
At least a few users have decided it was do to reloading their new iPhone from their previous Backup vs. Setting up the phone as New.  Some have gone back and started over as a New phone and are happy with the results.  This may not be a convenient solution if you have a lot of photos, music and/or Apps.

    Hi,
I have a HP G60 Notebook PC with Windows 7 which I bought two years ago; recently I noticed when audio is being played, the sound distorts through my integrated speakers (no external speakers) in the laptop. I was wondering if this is a hardware issue or a software one and where would I be able to get it  fixed?

Thanks, this was the clue I needed to figure it out.
From Settings you can pull up Control Center.
In Control Center you can enable "Access from within Apps" (also "Access from Lockscreen")
Now when I'm playing music, I can swipe up from the bottom and a little control center window slides up. Neat - this is new since my old iPod. On this window, the name of the current Bluetooth connection appears. Tap on that, and a list of connected Bluetooth items appears. I just tap on the one I want to connect to and I am now playing through the speakers I want.
