Iphone 6+ specs

So, the iPhone 6+ screen is a 1920x1080 pixel screen (a 16:9 aspect ratio).  In all the camera modes (slo mo, time lapse, video etc), the camera takes a 16:9 aspect ratio.  So, the sensor is large enough to handle the full aspect ratio of the screen.  Remember, the camera is 8Mp, and the screen is 2Mp.  But in the camera mode (except for the square format), the camera takes a smaller 4:3 format.
1.  I assume that if you had a 16:9 photo greater than 2Mp, that the camera could display the photo full screen, and would.
2.  Hard to understand why Apple limited the regular photo aspect ratio to 4:3.  I mean there could be a setting for both.
3.  Maybe they bowed to the camera apps guys who will offer 16:9.
4. And maybe they saved it for an update in the future.
5.  OTOH, other phone cameras are now at 16mp, so Apple seems way behind.
Anyone know the logic behind this?

Any idea why they are always tight-lipped about RAM? iPhone has done great performance wise thus far with 1 GB but I would think with the larger screens and other components to increase RAM.
I know this doesn't mean much in the Apple universe but many if not all iPhone competitors are running 2-3 GB of RAM.

Why is my iphone 3gs only have 128mb RAM based on my AppBox pro application system info?

    The 3G has 128MB RAM.  If it's a 3GS, it has 256MB RAM.  Are you sure it's a 3GS and not a 3G?

  • 3G iphone outstanding spec! Shame about the plastic back cover!

WOW I am so totally blow away by the spec of the new 3G iphone!
I have only one criticism why when Apple put so much care into the styling of the new Macbook Air & the first gen iphone/ipod touch etc with sleek brushed metal finish to the case have they opted for a plastic back cover on the new 3G iphone?
I hope if they are giving us the option of a black or white back cover that they have a rethink and also give us the option of a metal back cover too!!! Just a thought...

There is a simple reason that it has a plastic case.
In side the new phone there are 10 radio transmitters / receivers that all need access to the outside world via a radio transparent material. The radios are the multiple phone standards for world coverage, GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi. A metal case would not allow all these signals to pass through.

  • IPhone 3gs spec changes?

Right, I'm wondering... I got a 3Gs 16gb early this year - literally one of the first when it came on Vodafone. However it broke over the weekend (NO SERVICE), and yesterday I was given a replacement "exact same model" (I tried for a white one - voda were out of stock when I first got.. but meh, they said had to be the same ) etc.. however from the second I held it it was different, seemed heavier (I had both at the same time and the new one was definately heavier - the other half agreed.. and have noticed the battery performs differently (better!!) has better wifi signal and general reception, screen seems more responsive etc...
Its not the software etc, as I did a restore from my old iphone backup so is exactly the same setup.
Has apple done some secret little tweaks to the phone itself since the original that would explain the different feel of weight and performance? Its bugging me, I just want to know how the weight change etc is expained.. or was my first 3Gs the dodgy one etc...

Definately is heavier, just got a 3gs off a colleague who got theirs back when I got mine, quick trip to the kitchen and put on the balance scales and mine drops everytime, so is definately heavier...
    Im most confused...

  • My iPhone 5 headphones won't fit in my ipad mini?

mini? They fit in my iPhone though. They only go about half way and how ever hard I push, they won't go in. There is some on and off sound if I hold them a certain way. I honestly have no idea why...

I can't post two pictures in the same reply when using my iPad, but here is a screenshot of the iPhone 5 specs showing the same earphones 3.5mm jack. The iPhone earbuds should work.
Perhaps you are using a case that is preventing the earbuds from going into the opening all the way?

  • M4V no longer working on iPhone

I work for a software company and do the video tutorials. I always export a .MOV version and export an iPhone version using QuickTime's export features. Before the .M4V versions always worked on iPhone, but they no longer work. Not on iOS 4 or iOS 3. However, .MOV files that were exported with a size suitable for the iPhone do work. Can anybody help me with this?

  • Can I use my iphone 4 with Powerbook G4? It wont let me. Please help!!!

    Hi all!
I've just opened my new iphone and tried to connect it to my powerbook g4 but it say that 'the iphone can not be used as it requires Mac OSX 10.5.8 or later'. My powerbook currently has 10.4.11. I've checked for updates but my Mac say I'm up to date.
Is there any way around this? I will be so disappointed if not as all my music ect is on my powerbook.
    Please Help!!!!!!

As already provided, the iPhone 4 requires 10.5.8 or later.
This is included with the iPhone 4 specs via this link, and on the retail sales box.

10.5 is not a free update just as 10.4 was not a free update over 10.3.

  • New Iphone / Old Imac

Please Help! I just bought an IP4 which is my third iPhone.
I have a vintage Imac running 10.4.11 which runs perfectly and does what we've always needed it to do. We also have a house full of PC's. I have always used our Imac to activate and sync my previous IP's.
When my new IP4 arrived the first thing I did was download the latest Itunes. Then I synced and updated my old IP3G. When I then plugged in my IP4, I get the message that the IP4 isn't supported by my mac OS (which worked fine for my other IP's).
So then I went to my newest PC and downloaded Itunes. I first plugged in my 3G but it wouldn't transfer any data to put on the new IP4.
What can I do to get my data off my 3g and onto my new IP4 and activate it without having to buy a whole new Mac?
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the Discussion woxofswa,
You will not be able to do it with your Mac as you have found out.
    Questions are:
    1) What system are you going to end up syncing your new iPhone4 to in the future, if any.
    2) What data are you looking to move?
Contacts and Calendar data is moved to the iPhone from the Address Book and Calendar.app on MacOS, Outlook on Windows. So your best approach would to figure out where you plan on syncing the new iPhone and move your old phone their first, or move the data using MobileMe to the new machine. (I have not done the later myself to a Windows machine)
    System Requirements are:
    Mac system requirements:
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 9.2 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access
    Windows system requirements:
    PC with USB 2.0 port
Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 9.2 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access

  • IPhone 4 iOS 6 Update Doesn't Support 5GHz WiFi?

After upgrading to iOS 6 on my GSM iPhone 4, I've discovered that I can longer access my Apple Time Capsule (Airport Extreme). I do not have the grayed-out wifi option, but rather I can only see wifi base stations in the 2.4Hz spectrum. My Time Capsule is set for 5GHz only to eliminate interference from the large number of wifi access points in the surrounding area. Fortunately i have a Motorola witeless Cable Modem so i am able to access wifi in the 2.4GHz spectrum directly. However, using the AirPort App, I am able to see my Time Capsule, which should not be the case since it should only be visible to devices that can see 5GHz. This is based on my own previous attempts to reset the Time Capsule after setting it to 5GHz only and discovering none of my devices at that time were 5GHz capable.
The iPhone 4 was actively accessing the 5GHz Time Capsule prior to my upgrade to iOS 6. Does the fact that the AirPort App can see the Time Capsule, but can't see the 5GHz network hosted there suggest anything about the settings that may need to be adjusted following the upgrade to iOS 6?
I've read that the grayed-out WiFi option has resulted in some iPhone 4S being replaced under warranty, but obviously my phone is considerably out of warranty at this point. So I am concerned that this is a software fix coming in the next update. While the majority of Wifi access spots are still 2.4GHz, more are moving to the 5GHz spectrum, and I would hate to lose that functionality just to gain a few unspectacular features under iOS 6.
Anybody else have this specific problem, as I have searched and found nothing. most problems seem to affect only the 4S?

    I don't understand your question: the iPhone 4 doesn't -- and never has -- support 5ghz wifi. See http://www.apple.com/iphone/iphone-4/specs.html

  • Why need to charge iphone 6 Plus everyday the battery just last long for a day- My phone just 1 week old

I have to charge my phone everyday, The battery just last long for a day. Is that normal ? My phone just one week old.
    Please advise mates.

I would say that is well within the acceptable limits,
If you check out Apple's page here: http://www.apple.com/iphone-6/specs/
All the way at the bottom is the battery info. It states that you'll get up to 12 hours of battery on 3G/LTE. Of course, that number is obtained by following a very specific set of steps - the real world number is less.

  • Transferring Video to iPhone 4

Hi, I am using iPhone 4 since last couple of days ONLY. I have transferred music through iTunes but couldnt transfer Videos. I see some imported videos on my iTunes that can be transferred but not others.I cannot use iPhone as an USB. Is it the limitation ? I am not able to transfer pics as well. Please advice.

    1. If they are DRM protected, they won't play or transfer.
    2. Xvid and DVD formats are NOT supported.  See the iPhone/iOS specs:
"Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile Level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format."
