Iphone 6 videos aren't showing up in iPhoto after import

After importing tons of photos from my new phone to iphoto, I noticed that none of the videos are showing up. I deleted after importing, so they're no longer on my phone either. All my old videos from my iPhone 5 are showing up, just not the videos from my 6+. In Spotlight, I typed in h.264 and the videos are showing up and directing me to iPhoto, they're just not showing up there at all. What's going on? Thank you!

Disconnect the external drive, choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter /Volumes/ as the folder's path, move all aliases out of this folder, and then reconnect the drive.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbs. This can take 3 or 4 goes.

Camera doesn't show up in iPhoto after upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard

When I was running 10.5 Leopard, I would connect my camera to my computer and iPhoto would pop up and ask me to import. The camera would be listed in under Devices. After upgrading my OS to 10.6 Snow Leopard, iPhoto no longer recognizes my camera. I am able to import from the camera just fine using the Image Capture app, and the camera shows up in the System Profiler under USB, so the system does seem to detect and recognize the camera, it's just that iPhoto is ignoring it. iPhoto does recognize my iPhone and list it under Devices, but not my camera.
Has anyone else had similar problems with iPhoto after upgrading to Snow Leopard? Does anyone know how to fix this so iPhoto will recognize the camera?
My camera is a Casio Exilim EX-S500

Sadly, neither of these posts provide any answers (as of 9/4/09). It seems there's a problem with some cameras and iPhoto and Snow Leopard. The only helpful advice was to use a USB card reader which doesn't make sense in my case since the EX-S500 has it's own dock specifically for transferring pictures. Oh well, I guess I'll wait and see if Apple fixes this in 10.6.1.

i changed a serious bunch of images on my iphone 6 plus (latests ios 8.1.3) with the new apple photos editor (lighter/darker/presets:chrome, process, transfer/styles/cropping),
after importing the images with my lightning cable (mbair 10.10.2, latest iphoto), all changes are gone! i see the original, uncropped, and all orig. colors. is that a bug? it makes no sense. any workaround please? frustrating...

My videos aren't showing on my PC

I connected my iPhone 5 (iOS 8.1) to my PC, and when I opened the folder that had my iPhone contents in it, it wasn't showing all of my videos.
Help?

I figured out the problem. I always updated iTunes by the automatic updates, so I went and downloaded it manually and that resolved my problem.

Well, if the video displays after publishing then nothing is wrong.
If you cannot see the video in iWeb, then your code probably does not allow it to display in the application.
In that case, imagine that you see the video.
If that's too difficult, use a picture.

How Best to Import iPhone 4 video into Premier Pro CS5 - Settings for new import "sequence preset"?

Shooting video with my iPhone 4 (ATT version) and am trying to import file into Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) running on Macintosh OS 10.6.6.
The problem is that I am simply guessing on how to import sequence, and the result is that I am getting motion artifacts and generally inferior quality. I am using iMovie 11 as my basis for comparison.   Not surprisingly, iMovie 11 imports from iPhone beautifully, but when I've looked around inside of it for properties, there isn't much to see.
From using Apple's built in quicktime "inspector," it is possible to see that iPhone4 video has following properties:

When I follow your approach, I don't get the same "sequence preset" dialog box popping up.
FU question, though, the motion is frequently jagged. Is there a way to smooth out/increase the quality of the rendering?    I have 16gb ram, Mac Pro.   which is able to handle iPhone video rending fine in quicktime.   (I've tried rendering for "performance" and "memory" but both seem to produce, eh results.).

IPhone emailed pictures no longer showing up as attachments after update to IOS 6.1.3

When emailing photos, they no longer show up in my Outlook email as attachments after I updated my iPhone4S to IOS6.1.3. They did just prior to this update. Anyone know why?

You should be able to right click and save the or copy the image. But, there may be a configuration in Outlook that is determining how the attachement is encoded or handled preventing this. (could also be on teh Exchange server).
For what it is worth, I test from my iPhone to my work account (Outlook client via Exchange server) and did have an issue.
Do you use a signature on your iPhone? If not, set one and try that. I know it sounds odd, but give it a go.

Non iPhone camera app photos not showing up in iPhoto

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook, iPhoto only shows thumbnails of photos taken with the camera app.
Thumbnails taken with a third party app show up as empty hash border boxes and I am not able to import them. Why is this? It's dam annoying. I should be able to get hold of any images on my iPhone regardless of what app I used.
(Note photos are always stored on the iPhone in the Photo Gallery)

It's a bug, I think. Many people have reported it on the iPhoto forum, so you might search for a solution there.
See if Image Capture in your Applications folder lets you download all the photos to your hard drive. Worst-case, copy and paste them into an email to send yourself.

Videos won't show up when trying to import to iPhoto (and iMovie)?

I recently got a new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 camera for filming my YouTube videos. When I try to import my videos to iPhoto in order to edit them, all the pictures show up but it's as if I have no video files on the camera. I have tried importing straight to iMovie, but I have the same problem there.
This is really frustrating seeing as I have an upload schedule which I'm now thoroughly behind on, as well as clips for four videos I wanted to upload to YouTube weeks ago.
Help would be much appreciated!!

You would not be importing to iPhoto to edit the movies, they should go directly to iMovie. iMovie also has an option to upload directly to YouTube.
You really need to ask on the iMovie forum. A couple of tips:
You don't mention what format these movies are. I note that this camera shoots both AVCHD and MP4. You need to explain which you are shooting.
Also, be sure to mention which version of iMovei you have.

Videos corrupted in iPhoto after import from iPhone 4S?

My videos seem to get corrupted when I import them from my iPhone 4S. They are fine on the iphone, and I can view them on my computer through iPhoto, but if I send or try to post them, they are black, though they "play" if you try to play them. They appear as .MOV files when I attach them to e-mails, etc. Anyone have any ideas about this? Are my videos all ruined?

No, your videos are OK and not damaged.
You have to export them out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu with Kind = Original set. Then add to email, or whatever.
Know that many email servers limit attachment file size to 10 or 20 MBs and movie files are often too large to email.

Why are my videos no longer showing up in playlists after iOS 5 upgrade?

In the past, all I need to do to view my video playlist was to use the iPod app. However, after the iOS 5 update, it appears that the iPod app is gone and its closest equivalent is the music app, which does not list any of my videos that I *know* are present on the iPad. Does anyone have an idea of how to deal with video playlists after the iOS 5 update?

IPhone no longer shows up in iPhoto after iTunes update

I took some photos with my iPhone 3G today. iPhoto launched when I attached the iPhone (USB) but it no longer appears in the sidebar and so I cannot download the photos. It worked perfectly 3 days ago. The only system change is that I updated iTunes and iMovie yesterday. There is a possibility that iTunes has disrupted things. The iPhone appears in the iTunes sidebar

Start with the troubleshooting basics:
1. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
2. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
