IPhone 6 Wi-Fi and Battery Problems

Background info:
-- My first iPhone 6 kept randomly shutting down and turning itself back on while I was in various apps and on the home screen and also while the phone was on stand-by. I called Apple Support and they sent me a replacement without asking too many questions.
-- I don't know if my replacement is new or refurbished, although I'm assuming it's new since I received the replacement about 2.5 weeks after the release date of the iPhone 6, but who knows.
Problem:
The replacement iPhone's wifi and battery.
Wi-Fi:
-- My replacement/current iPhone 6 is running iOS 8.0.2.
-- Trying to load anything while on wifi is so, so, so SLOW. I don't even use it on my phone anymore and I stick to cellular data because that is how bad it is.
-- I did NOT have this issue with my original iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2).
-- My iPad Air (iOS 8.0.2) has absolutely no problems with the wifi.
-- Resetting my network settings fixed the issue for literally 15 minutes before the problem started again.
-- Restoring the phone from backup does not work. Setting up the phone as new does not work.
Battery:
-- My original iPhone 6's battery life was amazing. I could go through the whole day with heavy use with my cellular data and location on and still have a good 40% left on it. It took A LOT to kill even 10% of it.
-- My replacement iPhone's battery is absolutely pathetic. Light use (texting, browsing) with cellular data on and location off for an hour kills 20% of it.
-- Pretty much any "battery-saving" thing I can do is done (like turning off wifi, cellular data, and location unless it's absolutely needed).
I don't want to contact Apple for another possible replacement because I just feel weird about it. Obviously I will if I have to.
Do you guys have any suggestions or fixes? Please help!

I downloaded the Speedtest app on my iPhone and iPad and would randomly test one right after the other. I accumulated about 5 tests a day on each device over the course of 3 days. I set up an appointment at the Genius bar. I told the Genius that I set up my phone as new and then showed him my comparisons of the Speedtest on both devices. He handed me a new (non-refurbished because it hasn't been out for long) phone, no questions. Apparently it was a hardware issue and not an iOS 8 bug.

why is my iphone 5 having network and battery problems after the ios 6.1.2?

I also forgot to mention that when it did have power, it wouldn't let me shut it off to try and conserve the battery life. Right when it powered down it would power right back up.

  • What is this noise, and battery problem on Iphone 4S

There was a battery problem on Iphone 4s so i was worried to buy it, but once I heard that Apple published new ios 5.0.1, I went down to the Apple store near to my house, and I bought Iphone 4S. First time meet with Iphone 4S great Siri, and more faster processer, I liked it, but after I used for 1 week I found many problems, there was battery problem still, and even there was noise problem, expeciallly the noise problem is annoying because when I phone call to my friend or home I can hear it very clealy...
    please fix it apple

Reset, will reset the battery meter is this is the problem. To Reset, hold both the Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off", let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. If not better, try tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. The set up your iPhone again. If not better, you may need to Restore the iPhone Firmware, I would perform this with iTunes on your computer.

  • IPhone 4 (not 4s) battery problems

I've seen a lot of complaints about poor battery life on the 4s, but I am having problems with battery life on my iPhone 4, which is draining at about 2% every 10 minutes while in standby.  The battery problems started about 3 days ago (I had already been running iOS 5 for a couple of weeks without any issues).
I believe that my problem has to do with my Gmail exchange account, which stopped working at about the same time.  Currently Mail is crashing whenever I try to sync with Gmail, and if I try to access the Gmail account settings in the Settings app then the Settings app crashes as well (no ill effects with Calendar or Contacts for some reason).
Not sure if this helps anyone.

La duracion de mi bateria se ha visto acortdada desde que actualiace a ios 5.1

  • IOS 7.02 iPhone 5 clock and Calendar Problems

The date displayed in the Calendar is always one day ahead of its day shown in the iPhone settings date. Also the clock for the various cities around the World are being incorrectly reflected. Seoul, Korea is shown 2.5 hours earlier than Shanghai time and Seoul is East of Shanghai and I believe it is only 1 hour ahead not 2.5 earlier as shown in iPhone. Never had these problems before update to iOS 7.02. The World Clock and calendar cannot be trusted any more and I hope Apple will correct soon!!!!

    Hello there, Duke4u.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great troubleshooting steps for your issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting issues with date and time
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3920
If you've already reviewed the settings for Date  & Time, what seems pertinent to you is the following:
If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
Note: The option to set automatically might not be available on all carriers in all countries.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • IPhone wifi bug and battery drain in iOS 8.1

I have an iPhone 5s 32GB and updated it to iOS 8.1
the wifi bug is still there and my battery drains within 4 hours of normal use(no gaming)
the option to chose 2G/3G isnt there too
    any help ?
    Please fix these bugs soon

Power cycle the battery, let it fully drain to where your phone shuts off and then fully charge it without using it.
As for mail if you have it set to push try using manually fetch - the server will only check for emails when you open the mail app, instead of pushing the mail to your phone when you receive one.

  • 2 out of 3 iPhone 3G's with battery problem.

    http://www.wirelessinfo.com/content/2-out-of-our-3-iPhones-have-faulty-batteries .htm
Website says the 2 out of 3 iPhone 3G's have defective batteries.
They don't fully charge and have less battery life.
Anyone having the same problem? - I do

I am having this problem too, if the iphone 3G does have the same icon for the full charge as the original iphone. Apple may have changed it for the iphone 3G. But my phone does not display the radioactive green battery even after a 7 hour charge. Does anyone know the answer?

  • Iphone 5s app and internet problem

I was recently bought an iPhone 5s for my birthday last week. I have been trying to download apps in the store, but on nearly all occasions, when attempting to download apps a message comes up on the screen saying that downloads cannot take place at this time and to try again later. Two days later I attempted to download apps again and it said the same thing, try again later.
Another problem I'm having is that if i use safari or any sort of wi-fi needed app such as 8tracks, maybe after 5 minutes of use it says "server cannot be found"  although the wi-fi is working fine. I then reset the phones wifi, it works for a small amount of time and then repeats "server not found" could someone guide me on what to do about this?

    Hey Hannahmlee,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like both of these issues stem from your network connection. It may be applicable to troubleshoot your network connectivity. The following resource should help you out:

  • Wi-fi failure and battery problems started at the same time

I can't get the wi-fi to connect to any network. It stopped working a couple of days ago. I have tried with my own wireless network at home and several other networks as well.
    I have tried the following:
    *Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings
    *Restore to Factory Settings
*Tried my network without security and with WPA (and yes I know the password)
*With and without MAC-address filter in Router, added the iPods MAC-address (called Wi-Fi Address in the iPod)
*Changed channel for my Wi-fi network
*Tried with and without my wi-fi repeater
*My router is broadcasting the SSID
*Tried to join the network when it is found by the iPod, with 1 as strenght but then I get "Could not join the network"
*Tried to add the network as other network, typing in the SSID the it says that it can't find the network.
I have tried a mix of the above and as I stated above I have also tried other networks that it has been able to join without problems before.
    Some info:
iPod Touch 16 GB Model MA627ZG
    Version 2.2.1 (5H11)
    Purchased in December 2007.
    Router: Netgear DG834GT
    Firmware: V1.02.04
    Wireless Repeater D-link DWL-G710
At the same time as this started my battery started to get drained very quickly. 2 hours of listening to an audio book and the battery is empty again.
    I have wi-fi off
    Auto brightness off
    Fetch new data off
    EQ off
The iPod gets very hot when attached to my computer via USB to get battery charged and I don't have it in a case.

I am having excatly same problem. It started about two days ago, but I did not update or installed anything just before this issue came up. It looks like it came from nowhere.
It feels like the touch is constantly trying to connect to wifi, even if it is sleeping and even if the wifi is off! That would explain the very short battery life.
I have tried to update to 2.2.1. It did not help. I have tried to restore both to 2.2 (which was on when this issue came up) and both to 2.2.1.
I tried to revert to older firmware 7.3.2 on my airport express. But it it did not seem to make any difference. My macbook is still seeing the wifi as well as before, so it should not be a router problem.
as well, to comment on ipod being connected to turned off/hibernated computer. it does not make any difference whether it is connected to it or not. Computer does not suck the energy from the ipod. It can only charge it. So whether it is connected or not, the ipod should discharge slowly, which it does not in our case.

  • IPhone 3gs reception and connection problems, HELP!

My iPhone 3GS is having mutiple issues, including battery life, making and receving calls, making and recieving texts, and connecting to the internet. Lots of calls that people try to make to me never show up, and ones that do drop. It takes a few trys to get my calls to go out. Texts are the same way. If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for the original owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the original owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the original owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
