IPhone 6 will not update or restore

I am unable to access my phone because it is shutting off on me every time i restart it. I just purchased the phone on 2/13/15, and it's not working. A iTunes  Sync cable icon appears. I've tried to restore and update the phone, but no luck. I would appreciate any knowledgeable feedback upon solving this issue

Well, this morning is when all of these errors occurred. Specifically, my phone's battery was on 75%. I noticed when I pressed the Home screen button, the phone did not come on. When I restarted the phone by pressing both the power button and home button, the Apple logo appeared. Then it went off again. When I repeated the same process, the iTunes+ Sync cable logo appeared. When I plugged the phone to iTunes, the computer asked for an updated version of iTunes, which was 12.1. When I plugged my phone up to iTunes after the update, a pop-up notified me to restore both my phone and update it. These instructions did not work.

Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • My iPhone will not update from version 4.1

My iPhone will not update from version 4.1, everytime I try to update on the iTunes iPhone screen, the response says "your iTunes version is current"....I am not trying to update iTunes, I just want to update my iPhone. How do I fix this?

You must purchase 10.5.8 from an Apple store, either in person or online. You can also update to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) if you have an Intel Mac. The current version is Lion, (10.7), but you must have Snow Leopard installed to upgrade to Lion. You also need an Intel Mac.

  • Phone will not get out of recovery mode/will not update or restore

Iphone will not get out of recovery mode. I have pressed the home and lock screen at the same time, and nothing happens. I connected it to iTunes to try to update my phone or restore it, and it will not do anything. The progress bar shows up on the screen but does not make any progress and iTunes says it cannot connect to my phone. I have tried everything and went to the AT&T store and they told me to contact Apple support. What do I do now?

You will have to restore it from Recovery Mode

  • IPad will not update or restore to factory settings.

My iPad Air is stuck in recovery mode. I was using my iPad to watch Netflix when all of a sudden the screen display had lines going through it and then the device shut off. I plugged it in to charge, since it was almost dead and left it for a few hours. When I came back and tried to turn it on, it would not turn on. After a few attempts it did. and seemed to be working fine for about 5 minutes, until I tried to close a few apps, and same thing happened, lines through the display and then turned off. I tried to plug my iPad in to my computer to update it, but it must have malfunctioned while updating because then it went into recovery mode. I tried to restore the iPad to factory settings and I keep getting an error saying it can not update or restore.
I then brought my iPad in to the Apple store for some technical support. The "technician" was less than helpful and only did what I had done at home: plug into computer and try to update & restore using itunes. Needless to say it did not work. He then told me it must be a hard drive problem and since I was 2 months out of warranty that I could get a replacement iPad for $299 +tax. I asked for the manager and of course "he was busy" and said this was my only option. I asked him how thsi could've happened and he told me he had no way of knowing and didn't know what caused these things to happen.
I have been an Apple user for 10+ years and have enjoyed every product I have ever bought there. I am extremely disappointed that by me using my iPad normally, never dropping it, never spilling water on it and then their product failing that I have to pay almost $300 to get a replacement. It seems that this problem could not have been avoided, since they don't know what causes these things and that this was Apples fault for selling faulty products. I would have never bought the iPad to begin with had I known I would need to purchase a replacement only 13 months later.
I am wondering if anyone has gone through something similar and if there are any other options for me.

Did you put the iPad into Recovery Mode? Follow the steps in this Apple support document:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
It could be an internal hardware failure though, as the Apple technician explained. While not common these things do happen. If that's the case you options are to replace the iPad with an identical model using the Out of Warranty replacement process and paying the $299 fee or purchase a new replacement iPad.

  • Both my mac and my iphone will not update apps

Both my apple products will not update any apps, when ever I try it says "Payment Method had been declined" I don't know what to do, help!

If you account is disabled, you would need to contact Apple at 1-800-275-2273 to speak with account security. They will need to verify your information and then they can enable your account. This is the only way to enable a disabled account

  • IPhone 3GS will not update or restore

Got my iphone 3gs replaced under warranty, the new iphone will sync everything as normal, however it will not restore, also when i press check for software update i get this message:
"the iphone software update server could not be contacted."
"make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later"
i have tried putting into recovery mode and dfu mode via the wake/sleep button & the home button, but i get no joy i get same message.
i have tried uninstalling and disabling my firewall no luck there
i have tried everything everybody else has tried and still no luck.
    i un-installed itunes and re-installed with latest version 9.2.1.5.
i also tried updating itunes via help then update and i got following message:
"the itunes server could not be contacted. please check your internet connection, or try again later".
this has been happening since yesterday since i tried to put iphone in dfu mode, cos on the net i found a few people saying if you put in dfu and do a full firmware update it wipes everything off iphone, then restore via itunes back up and you should get better battery life and performance using the IOS4.
now on my other iphones i had, 3g and iphone 4, these features worked perfectly, i am now very cheesed off and can't even restore normally let alone in dfu mode.
since getting the replacement 3gs it is the first time i have checked these features so i don't know if it could be the iphone itself.

Its now working, i think it had something to do with talk talk and apple.

  • IPhone will not update (error code 1) will not restore even in DFU mode (error code 1)

I bought the iPhone 4S from a friend, and I came to wiping it manually from the handset, no problems found however during the initial steps the iPhone was unable to validate on the apple servers (with the carrier stuck on searching). So, I plugged the phone into my trusty laptop installed Itunes fresh and proceeded to restore. The process gets to the later part of the validation and throws up an Error Code 1.
I'm aware (from searches across the internet) that error code 1 is typically found in phones with tampered hardware/software e.g. Jailbreak, unlock etc. My friend is not tech savvy and doesnt have a clue about these things so I'm sure the phone is 'as is'.
So i proceeded to troubleshoot the issue:
I edited my hosts file to point to the apple validation server (and checked it allowed connections to gs.apple.com within my browser - successful).
Now as the handset is stuck in recovery mode (with the usb and apple logo) I tried to restore via regular Recovery mode - no sucess (error 1)
Entered the phone into DFU mode (which, in essence ALL of google preaches is the way to restore regardless of issue) same error occurred.
So i looked into 3rd party applications that could force it to restore or perhaps allow a functional end product.
Redsnow (latest edition only provides restore for up to iOS 6.1.somethingorother) that produced a dead end.
Pangu restore facility (latest edition for iOS 7/some 8 models) hanged at the same place as the apple loader.
I've tried flushing my DNS cache, and verified the Date/time on my computer and router is correct.
I refuse to accept the phone is nonfunctional but am rapidly running out of ideas as how to
    a) restore it to the iOS it initially had
    b) update it forcefully and have iOS 8
    c) install a custom rom in the hope some fuctionality exists enough to restore it again.
Please inform me of any suggestions you might have,
    regards Jack.
PS. Further information; This has been attempted on 2 seperate windows workstations both running windows 8.1 up to date.
The USB cable is an unofficial one but has caused no issues in the past on another iphone that ive restored.

Do you have the latest version of iTunes? Did you check for anti-virus software? One of the sections talks about interference from anti-virus software and firewalls. Also, you should not have to make any changes to your Host file unless your computer has been used to jailbreak a phone. I worry because you were using a number of software applications that are designed for jailbreaking devices. Excerpt from this support document. • Ipad2 5.01 will not update or restore,

I received an email from Apple about offer for iPhoto for Ipad at $4.99 so I jumped on it. Item was purchased but would not install, that is when I noticed it will only install on OS 5.1. So I tried to update from 5.01 to 5.1 and the update fails. Say's Internet connection failed, yet I can surf the web, update app's, and do just about anything the Ipad is designed to do. My Ipad just will not do an update. So I disabled my anti-virus, on my Imac, hooked my Ipad back up to my computer and tried just about everything I could find on the web. As a last resort I decided to try a restore and this too fails. Any suggestion? Original Ipad purchased thru Apple, no jailbreak...

Were you trying to restore from an iTunes backup?  Your backup may be corrupt.  Try restoring but choose set up as new:
Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
If that works & if you have also been backing up to iCloud, then you can choose to restore from your iCloud backup.
