IPhone 6 with 1 gig of ram, that's disappointing.

hello apple and hello my friends.
i Had iphone 5 with 1 gb ram, i have ipad mini with 1 gb ram, and everytime when i use safari with more than 3 tabs - my iphone or ipad reload pages!
so... I hoped that in iphone 6 apple will add more ram to use safari with 3-4 tabs.. . And  yesterday i bought iphone 6 plus and...... Again 1gb of ram... Again page reloads, again no multitasking in safari without page reload..
I Pay over than 1000$ FOr iphone and i get same ram as my iphone 5 !!! I have same problems with safari!! It's terrible .
why samsung puts 3-4 gigs of ram, and apple just 1gig? Because of soft and hardware optimization?? No!!! Because they make money on us! After one year they will make iphone 6s with REVOLUTION 2 gb of ram and REVOLUTIONARY SAFARI MULTITASKING.
and now question to apple.
my iphone 6 plus reloads safari pages, how can u fix my iphone?

I suppose it's a hardware development bug. Safari and Navigation software with dozens of POI on the map is always a headache for 1GB of RAM.
Just made a post here about it, but it was deleted with the following reason stated: We removed your post iPhone 6/6 Plus lost 1Gb or RAM. because it contained information about beta software available only to Registered Apple Developers
By the way: this brings some understanding regarding this issue.

  • Ever had a stable G5 with 8 gig of RAM?

Has anyone ever had a G5 run nice and stable with 8 gig of RAM?
I have purchased 16 gig in memory and tried every stick independently and they are all good. BUT put 8 gig in the machine and its unstable. Remove the last two mem slots and stability returns.
I now know my G5 has a hardware problem. It sometimes shows up as a 7 gig memory machine in "About this Mac" and "More Info" shows that the system reads the last two slots as 512 K rather than 1 gig modules. (Not first up but after a short while)
Its my belief that this is more than just my machine. Pieter

Q: *I want to reset NVRAM to factory defaults. How do I do that?*
A: When you start a Macintosh computer you can reset the configuration variables by holding down the following keys, "command-option-p-r", without the quotes. Listen for the second boot beep before releasing the keys and the configuration variables will be reset. When a Macintosh computer starts, control is immediately given to what Apple terms "Hardware Init". This firmware is contained in ROM and must use the microprocessor registers since memory is not tested and initialized.
When you hear the boot beep Hardware Init is finished testing and initializing memory and the microprocessor and passes control to Open Firmware. Open Firmware checks for keys being pressed. In this case, command-option-p-r, is detected and Open Firmware resets NVRAM and then passes control back to Hardware Init which will generate another boot beep. Don't worry if you hold down the keys too long and hear more than two boot beeps. More than two boot beeps will just reenter the startup sequence more times which will not cause any harm.

I would reset nvram each and every time I changed device configuration. Also, test with just new RAM alone. Sometimes RAM does get misreported as to its type/speed (PC2700 showed as PC2600 in G4 MDD) and just "cosmetic" and didn't affect operation.
Running memtest is one way; Apple Hardware Test another. If those two pass, I would not worry.

  • How do i set up my pre owned iphone 4 with my giffgaff sim card that was used in my iphone 3gs

how do i set up my pre owned iphone 4 with my giffgaff sim card that i have been using in my iphone 3gs
My 3Gs is on its last legs.... I've just bought a second hand iphone 4 which is unlocked......I put my giffgaff sim card in the new phone and it says activation required ......then it asks me for a passcode???  PLEASE HELP!!!! I have no idea what to do xx

You need to connect the phone to iTunes and then try activating it from there and restoring it as new.
If you have further problems and especially as the iPhone you have bought is second hand, it could be that it is not unlocked.  Are you sure that it is?  If not, then you'll need to speak to the person that you purchased it from.

  • 2.8 i7 chip with 8 gigs of ram, or a 2.6 i5 chip with 16 gigs of ram?

I'm considering buying a refurbished macbook pro.  Of the two I'm looking at, one has a 2.8 i7 chip and 8 gigs of ram; the other has a 2.6 i5 chip with 16 gigs of ram.  Which is preferable?  I'm a writer; I do some photo and home video editing, and some gaming (wow)... and I would consider loading up bootcamp or parallels.  both machines will sport a 512gb SSD.

    Thanks for your help.
I don't see running a ton of software simultaneously, though I've been known to have a metric sh*t-ton of tabs open at any given time (lots of research).   For writing, I'll frequently have a word-processing program, a screen-writing program and a PDF open, and possibly youtube.   I play mmo's...   am I likely to regret it if I run boot camp and try to play any serious games (i.e., skyrim / last of us / cod)?

  • I have a MacBook Pro late 2008 edition with 2 Gigs of RAM and running Mavericks. When trying to download Yosemite from the App Store it gives me an error message. Anyone has a similar problem?

MacBook Pro late 2008 edition with 2 Gigs of RAM and running Mavericks (10.9.5). It gives me an error message when I try to download Yosemite

    All,
I thought it may be related to spaces in the path in which the script was called from. I tried having the ODBC command script in another directory but the same thing happens. It will give me the "CONFIGSYSDSN: Unable to create a data source for the 'Oracle in OraClient10g_home1' driver: Could not load the setup or translator library with error code -2147467259". As soon as the script is done running I can manually double click the script and it adds the DSN fine.

  • HT1420 I have an old iphone 3G with 1900 songs and pictures that I want to put in my current itunes library, so they will sync in to my new iphone 5s.

I have an old iphone 3G with 1900 songs and pictures that I want to put in my current itunes library, so they will sync in to my new iphone 5s.  How can I transfer this info into my new library?
    Thanks

You can transfer the purchases you made on your old iPhone 3 by plugging it in to iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from your IPhone to the iTunes on your computer.  This will get music you purchased in iTunes, apps, etc.  (e.g., movies).
But for the rest you would need to restore a backup of your newly deceased computer.

  • Average trade-in for iPhone 5 with 32 gig?

I am trying to find out the range of trade-in values for an iPhone 5 with 32 gig in good condition.  The stores have not been helpful.  To get an answer you have to schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar and appointments are not available in my area until next week.  Many thanks.

Call your wireless provider. In the US both AT&T and Verizon are offering trade-ins.
I am not familiar with what, if anything, is being offered in other countries.
You may be able to find details on the website for your wireless provider. Apple does
not release the figure you are asking for. Apple will tell you their offer when they see
the iPhone - you may accept it or reject it. Generally, private sale will get you a better price.
FYI: what you are asking for can be interpreted as a poll and is in violation of the Terms of

  • Running Snow Leopard with 1 gig of RAM

I'm very interested in upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard in the near future. However, I've seen a few people recommend a minimum of 2 gigs for installing SL (even though Apple only requires 1 gig). There are some testimonials that claim that 1 gig is fine for basic netbook work, but I regularly use the Adobe Creative Suite. It runs okay on Leopard (just takes a minute or two to get open), but I'm worried that more intensive functions will be totally unusable if I put SL on. This is seperate from the issues users have been reporting with CS4 on SL. I'm just curious if the upgrade will cause my valiant 1 gig to give up entirely and make CS4 and other apps too slow to use.

Here's the thing - your 1GB RAM is the bare minimum required by Snow Leopard. It will run; but how well it will run is another matter. Your MB has been running ok so far, but you have already admitted that things are slow. Snow Leopard by itself is not going to cure overall system performance issues.
The other thing you have to consider is the system HD. When it gets to about 50% full performance starts to degrade; this is a matter of simple physics. At about 80% full things usually start to get quirky. At 90% full you are getting close to crashing your system. This is because the operating system needs adequate space on the system HD to run, and among other things it uses that space to make up for any shortage of RAM; when it does that your system still runs but it runs more slowly because disk is not as fast as RAM.
Then there's the matter that your MB is an old model with a slow bus & RAM speed compared to today's models.
What can you do to improve overall performance? Add RAM. Upgrade the hard drive to a 7200rpm HD. Keep the HD under 50% full. Don't run multiple apps simultaneously if at all possible. Run a maintenance utility like MacOSXCocktail or Onyx from time to time. That will give you a noticeable jump in speed.

  • P45 platinum having issues with 8 gigs of Ram

I just put together a new system. When I tried to install windows it kept giving me an error couldn't load winload.exe. I immediately thought I had a bad stick of ram. I ran Memtest with no errors reported. I tried taking 3 of the 4 sticks of ram out and then windowds would start to install fine. I tried every stick of ram this way and it all worked. Putting 2 sticks in is fine also (4 gigs total). Whenever I add 2 more sticks the board goes into an infinite reboot cycle. Having tested the different possible combinations of the sticks and the slots on the motherboard I am at a loss. Also this is OZC memory that is on the motherboards approved list and has been tested with it by MSI. Anyone know of others who have had issues with 8 gigs. Is there a bios setting I should try and change? Thank You!

  • PowerBook Won't Start with Extra Gig Of Ram

    Hello World,
Well...so much for do it yourself. God knows I've done it before but here's the story. I just bought a used Powerbook G4 with OX 10.5.8 running at 1.5 Ghz with one Gig DDRSDRAM. I bought another gig stick of ram...put both of them in to night and the Powerbook will not start. So in the interest of trouble shooting...I installed each gig of ram individually. They each said...individually...that they were 1gig DDR SDRAM stick. The computer started with each stick of ram so I know they both work. I was under the impression that the G4 Powerbook could take 2 gig of ram max in configuration of 2---1 gig sticks.
OK....There it is. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Thank you Dave R

AFAIK you are correct that the 2GB configuration should work. There is a history of one DIMM slot going bad, but then the computer should still start, just not show the bad slot in the total RAM. You might still try running with one stick in one slot, then the other slot as a check.
Some users anecdotally seem to find the machines fussy about RAM, although usually manifested in erratic operation, not failure to start.
What exactly happens when you try to start with 2GB? Nothing at all? No start sound? No optical or HD drive noise? No screen light/response? No sleep light blinks?

  • How can I restore data from my iCloud account on a new iPhone 5c with a previous SW version that my old (stolen) iPhone 5?

    Hello everybody,
I need help to restore data from my iCloud account on an unused iPhone 5c because my iPhone 5 with a newer iOS update was stolen. When I try I get a message that I cannot retore my data because the iOS on my iPhone 5c is an older version than on the stolen iPhone 5.
There must be a way to do this. I hope to hear from you
    thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You cannot. However, you can solve this problem by setting the iPhone as a new device and upgrading iOS in Settings -> Software Update.
After upgrading iOS, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. Finally, Setup Assistant will let you restore the backup.

  • Macbook pro retina, boots only with 5 gigs of ram free?

I dont know how normal this is, but here goes.
I have the 2.6 retina, 8 gig ram, 512 ssd. For some reason last night my mac got real laggy, so I decided to check out my ram usage. I downloaded this app called memory clean, and I was surprised at the free ram.
Upon a fresh boot I only have like 5.90 gigs of ram free. And once I start browsing, I'll be reduced down to like 3 and it'll get a little sluggish.
I wanted to know if this is considered normal? I reset pram and have the latest updates from the App Store is regard to the OS.

Assuming that you have Mavericks installed as your OSX, memory pressure is the important criteria, not so much the amount.  Mavericks will actually try to use as much as is available.  If you see green, RAM usage is acceptable:
