IPhone acting wierd after 1.1.3 update.

After the new software update, my iPhone screen stops responding randomly. It only happens while I'm on safari and the iPod. It only happens rarely on the iPod, but when on safari, it happens enough to be a nuisance. Is this a problem other people are having or is it my iPhone itself?

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps in the order I provided with my first post in this thread with the last being calling AppleCare or making an appointment at an Apple Store?
This is not normal except for getting slow to think from time to time with powering the iPhone off and on - which should be done with a GSM phone every few days or so regardless or a Reset which should take care of this aspect.
I power my iPhone off and on each morning before beginning the day and I usually do a Reset once a week or so just to keep things running smooth.

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

  • I have a Iphone 4 and after the last software update iOS.0.4, my phone is no longer connecting to the wifi at my house.

I have a Iphone 4 and after the last software update iOS.0.4, my phone is no longer connecting to the wifi at my house.
My MacBook Air is connected and my roommates phones are also connected, but my iphone that always was connected to the same network is no longer connecting to the wifi.
The network is shown on the device but I can't join it.
Whats going on? Does someone know how to solve this issue?
    Thank you!

Problem persisted after fixes were done so wife called apple today.           Their fix is to turn cellular off when in the house and turn it back on when she leaves- the 4 doesn't keep the password so she has to enter the password too... This wasn't a fix ...it's just resolving the connection problem... They also said that they made ios6 have security features so nobody can hack into the wifi without having the password and it has to be entered to use the wifi.  My 5 and the iPads stay on with no problems.  It's just the 4.        So far so good...she's had wifi all day when home.    It's inconvenient but it's either completely reboot it with iTunes (which doesn't work for her) or buy a new phone and she won't do that either.
So...Apple is saying that she didn't have to do the updates either and could've stayed with the previous iOS     but !!!too late now!!!  We've updated because we think our phones will run better but the ios6 just made it a pita for users
I wonder if the hackers of the world are having as many issues as the peeps who are just trying to use their wifi??

My iPad is acting funny after 6.1.3 update the only way I see fixing this issue to downgrade but I can't find anything on downgrading

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Fans acting up after 2010-01 security update

    Hi there,
My MacPro (2,1) 8-core (16Gb) has it's fans acting up after the 2010-01 security update. This update came together with an update for Java. Being aware of the possibility that problems can rise when updating the two at the same time, I ran the security update first, then a restart, checked permissions, a restart and then the Java update and checked permissions again. However, now with only Safari or just the finder running the fans act up after a while. Even with the simplest tasks like opening a folder or dragging something or just running idle. It's not full blast but fast enough to be annoying.
I've done a SMC reset in conjunction with a 15min detachment of all cables, booted a few times in SafeMode, but no result. I hoped the 2010-02 security update would fix it but again no luck. Any ideas?

I've looked in the Activity Monitor (I hardly use it) and it gives me some strange data. Like Airport-BaseStation is running.
I don't have an Airport Base Station either, and Little Snitch is always asking if I want to allow it to phone home. So, mine must be running, at least sometimes, in the background also.
Sorry, don't have a real clue about this, but here's some other stuff to try.
First, see if this fan revving up happens in a new admin account and try a Safe Boot. Hold shift key down at startup chime. It will take some time to boot; let it go, it's doing some checking and repairing. The reboot into normal bootup will be slower than usual also.
if it were happening to me, I'd throw Applejack at it; must be from Single User, which BTW, is generally, a safer way to clear some caches. After it's installed, start up in Single User (CMD-S) and type in applejack and follow the on screen instructions for caches and pref files. Don't run anything out of order. If that doesn't do it, then you could try it in deep cache cleaning mode by typing in applejack AUTO.
You may not see the benefits until after several restarts, and since caches are made to speed things up, you may see some temporary slowness until these are rebuilt. If you run it in "Deep," you'll probably be asked to reauthorize some applications, which now think they're being opened for the first time.
Even if it doesn't help this time, it's a very useful tool to have on hand.

  • Keyboard/Mouse wierdness after 10.4.5 update

About one week after I updated to 10.4.5 I've had numerous keyboard freezes and my left mouse button acting as if it were right clicking (contextual menu popping up). I've had to reboot to clear this condition.
I had used the combo-update version of 10.4.5 when I upgraded and ran YASU 1.3.5 to clear my caches and permissions immediately after upgading.
Since this is an intermittent problem it doesn't seem like a .plist or other preference file is corrupt.
Any suggestions on where to look?

Hi, Albert. Welcome to the Discussions.
    1. If you are using a third-party keyboard or mouse and had to install associated, vendor-provided software for configuring those devices, check their vendors' Web sites for updates to that software.
    2. If you have installed interface modifications or other third-party software related to keyboard or mouse functions, e.g. customizing keyboard shortcuts, custom mouse pointers, etc., again check for updates to such. Such mods and third-party add-ons often become problematic after Mac OS X updates. Often these are launched as Startup or Login Items: my "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ may help you ascertain if such items are causing the problems.
    Good luck!

  • Iphone 4 problems after 7.0.2 update--Especially with keyboard entries

I am having serious iphone 4 problems after installing the 7.0.2 update.  Mostly it is with use of the keyboard.  Each key stroke takes about 8 seconds to show. It is truly disabling.  Apparently many others have had various problems.  The one thing the Apple Tech would tell me was that 7.0.2 cannot be uninstalled.  I have restarted & reset. Settings shows I have more that 20 free GB of space, though I don't know if that's important.
Sure would appreciate help!  Thank you!

settings - general - reset - reset network settings.
also turn off automatic app updated...

  • Playlists gone on iPhone 6 plus after 8.1.1 update

Just installed 8.1.1 on my iPhone 6 plus and all my playlists have disappeared of my iPhone not to mention it is now re-syncing all my music files to my iPhone again.  Some 5500 songs so this will take forever.  Is there anyone else who has also suffered from this problem after the update? I am sure i will run into more issues after this latest pump update.

I Did the reset and it does not work. It will revert back to the original ringtone when I enter or leave a new wifi. Whenever I re purchase, I notice after it loads it will pop back up with the purchase price. Ugh!
But I've spoken with numerous people with the 6's and spoken with the Apple techs and it just looks like a bug that needs to be waited out. im sure with the next upgrade (which is hopefully sooner then later) the problem will be solved. So until then we get crappy ringtone options

  • Iphone wont charge after iso7.0.3 update

I updated my iphone 4s to the current ISO 7.0.3 yesterday morning after my phone had been charging overnight.I had a full battery after the update but when i came to put on charge again last night it wouldnt charge. I have tried 3 different charging stations but nothing is charging it. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem.  I have an iPhone 4 and after upgrading to iOS 7.03 (my first upgrade to iOS 7), my phone volume is almost inaudible.  I have the same problem with the headphones for phone calls.  Listening to music on my headphones works fine.  I have also done a restore and set up as new phone and it doesn't fix the problem though it wasted 4 hours.

  • Iphone 5s bricked after ios 8.02 update

Yesterday I attempted to update my iphone 5s to ios8.02. The update didn't appear that big and my wifi is currently out so I decided it should be ok doing it with 3g. The update appeared to download fine and I proceded to install. The loading bar was on for about 5 minutes at which point I left it to do stuff around the house, when I came back the phone was stuck on the black screen with the apple, I left it longer and noticed every minute or so the screen would flash blue then go back to the apple. I can't turn off the phone or restart it, I simply wait until the battery finishes. I've tried since the battery emptied but still the same situation.
Are there any fixes I can try myself as I am in Sardinia and as far as I can see there are no authorised dealers nearby.
Btw nothing unusal installed on my phone just ios 8.01

    Hi Si7,
Welcome to the Apple Support Community!
I understand that you attempted to update your iPhone to iOS 8.0.2 but the update never finished. In this situation I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps outlined in the attached article.

  • IPhone not charging after 1.1.3 update

This may or may not be related to the 1.1.3 update. My update went fine yesterday. Took my iPhone home with a full charge. This morning, the phone had turned itself off, as the battery had drained. I did not have either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connected, and had no open applications (e.g. Show Traffic was not on). Now it seems that the iPhone will not receive any charge either from the dock-computer, or directly from the wall power socket, using the power adapter supplied.
The phone is legal, and has no 3rd party apps on it, or ever has had.
Anyone else experience this and can provide more information, or a fix?
    Cheers.

I also had this problem after the 1.1.3 update. The problem is not that the phone is not recharging, but that it is not indicating that it has been recharged. To fix, simply reboot or do a hard reset:
Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - (fade to black)
Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.
You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and thus booting up.
You have completed a hard reset successfully.
The Iphone should now correctly indicate its level of charge.

  • IPhone 4 Dead after i0S 4.3 update went wrong.

So after finally getting round to downloading and installing 4.3 (haven't updated the iOS at all since getting it last July) I find out I can't download more than 80% or so of the update without the connection "timing out". Note, no other problems downloading large files using the same connection.
I then downloaded the iOS from a different source (macworld) and the update seems to run smootly until it gets to the "verifying your update with Apple" point at which I get a  "the update could not be completed error 3194 message"
Getting pretty annoyed at this point and decide to go for a hard reset and restore after saving all my purchases to see if that makes a difference (by holding the home and power keys for 10 secs then letting go of the power key) and the iPhone's screen turns black.
It's completely dead now and I can't use it at all.
If I try to restore the phone I am in the same situation as before as iTunes will only allow me to restore if I download and install the latest iOS. I can't download it via iTunes, and I can't install it if I get it elsewhere.
    Any ideas?

Disabling firewall software during the update is what the regulars on this forum recommend when having problems accessing Apple's servers. And it does sound like you do.

  • Safari's Tabs Acting Strange After 10.6.4 Update

    Hi guys,
After the 10.6.4 update Safari's tabs have been acting strangely. Say I have Apple.com open in one tab and I hit Apple-T to open a new tab. It then changes that tab (which Apple.com was loaded on) to the Top Sites, keeps the focus on this tab, then opens a blank tab right next to it. I effectively lose the page I was using and a blank one appears. Any ideas as to how to fix this?
    Thanks for the help!

    HI,
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. If you still having problems...
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
And if you didn't repair disk permissions after you updated Safari, it's a good idea to do that.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

I have no bluetooth problem after updating to 4.3.5. Have you tried un-pairing the devices, then pairing them as new devices? Have you tried Reset Network Settings? And have you seen this: iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

  • Mail acting up after Safari 3.2 Update.

    Hello All,
Not sure weather this topic should be in the Safari Thread or here but here goes: After updating to Safari 3.2, all of a sudden Mail keeps asking for the passwords for all three of my email accounts. I type in my passwords for all three, then 5-10 minutes later, it asks for them again. I've had no problems with Mail until the Safari update. Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks, and warmest regards,
    Mike.

My wife and I are experiencing the same symptoms and although after entering the correct passwords and checking the remember box , It still happens and now is happening on my iphone as well.
We are also verizon subscribers. I searched through my keychain and preference files without finding anything unusual. However, canceling and then going to the " mailbox " menu and highlighting take all accounts online allows you to use your mail until the next time it pops up.
PS it does not affect our IMAP .mac or .me accounts.
Come on Apple, I didn't have any "phishing" problems anyway. ( The reason for the update)
And I have six POP accounts....
Hopefully someone over there figures out a patch or fix for us soon. It is the little things that get to us and also the little things that make us happy.
    Happy Holidays to everyone
