IPhone adressbook dont sync with MacPro via iTunes. someone could help?

My iPhone adressbook dont sync with MacPro via iTunes. someone could help?

How you do it depends on whether you are using iCloud or not.
If NOT, go to the info page in iTunes and make sure Address Book sync is enabled.
If you do use iCloud, make sure your ID is defined under System Prefs > iCloud in the Mac and under Settings > iCloud on the phone.  When you use iCloud, you do NOT want to also sync the Address Book on the Info page in iTunes.

  • An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time

I recently bought a MacBook Pro, and I figured it would be pretty simple to move my iPhone to sync with iTunes on the Mac from iTunes on my pc, afterall it is the same program and both are designed for the iPhone.
I have been successful in getting the Contacts and Calendar to sync, but the Music, Applications, Video and a few other things give me this message when I check the sync box:
"The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase the iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
Obviously, I don't want to erase everything. Actually, I don't care about Music, Videos, Podcasts or Ringtones as I don't have any, but I do care about Photos and Applications. Actually Photos I can reload too, but I don't want to loose the apps I have purchased with the iTunes App Store.
I even tried going back to the PC and unchecking the Sync boxes on it, hoping this might disassociate it from the phone, but now even on that PC I get the same message.
How do I disconnect phone from the old iTunes and be able to sync it to the new iTunes? This should be simple right?

I made an appointment with a Mac Genius and I will say that while it was better than getting to talk to India on a poor quality phone call it was just about as helpful. Sure she was cute and friendly, but I left without my issue resolved and was surprised that I didn't even get a followup from anyone asking about my experience (hence my venting here)
Anyway, I found a solution for my issue here: http://tinyfish.net/2008/07/18/how-to-sync-iphone-with-multiple-computers/
This is a real solution to the issue, and has the benefit that I can do this to as many machines as I need and sync at any of them instead of just one. Hopefully, Apple doesn't delete my response since it truly is the answer to the problem and others might be looking for the same solution.

  • I have two ipods that cannot sync to my macbook because i had to replace the hard drive in the mac.  the ipods say they are synced to another itunes library and can't be synced with my new itunes account.  help!

i have two ipods that are synced to my previous itunes account that was on my macbook before the hard drive crashed.  i can't sync with the new itunes on the new hard drive - help!

Why did you start a new account?
Copy everything from your backup copy of your computer to your new hard drive.
Ipod will sync to one itunes library at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content from the ipod.

  • Syncing with iCal via iTunes fails

since 3 weeks I'm not able to sync my calendars between my iPhone (3G, iOS 3.1.3) and iTunes (v 10.4.1 for MacOS) and iCal.
The iPhone is shown in iTunes, I can start syncing and the progress of the process is beeing shown in iTunes. iTunes also tell me, that the sycning was succesful. But unfortunatly the syninc of the iCal-entries with the iPhone fails: Neither new dates, applied at the iPhone are synced to iCal, nor dates from iCal are shown on the iPhone.
Until now I tried to solve the problem by this ways:
    > Overwriting the calendars on the iPhone with the calendars of iCal
    > Deleting the calendars from iCal and re-importing the entries to iCal from the Backup bevor syncing
    > Deleting the iPhone-Account from iTunes
The syncing of the adressbook with iTunes is possible. And it is possible to sync iCal and the Adressbook with macbay.
I dont't want to update my iPhone to iOS 4
Do you have some ideas what else I can try?!

    Try this:
Close iTunes, launch iSync from your applications folder, reset sync history, re-boot your computer, launch iTunes, connect your phone, hit the sync button.

  • Old Address Book syncing with iPad via iTunes!

Forgive me if I'm going over old ground but there seem to be a number of threads to do with Address Book syncing, but I haven't managed to find a definitive answer, so here goes ...
I have an iPad [3] under iOS.5.1and an OSX.6.8 quad-core i7 iMac and I sync them via iTunes.
Everything, absolutley everything, syncs just fine, Calendars, Photos, etc. etc. - except, that is, for Address Book and Contacts.
The iMac Address Book is fully up to date, yet the version on the iPad is not only an old version, but a version which hasn't been current since before the iPad was bought and first sync'd!
    Bizarre!
In an attempt to correct this, I unchecked the iTunes "Info > Sync Contacts button and resync'd.
The ipad Contacts book was empty - which is what I expected.
i then checked the button again and resync'd - and the old Address Book data was resync'd!
What is clear is that the iPad's version reflects that which is in the iTunes "Selected Groups" window and not what is actually in the Address Book, so I presume that the error lies with iTunes and/or my iMac and not the ipad iteself.  The iPad is, after all, only reflecting what iTunes tells it.
So, my friends, why does iTunes not show the current Address Book indiviudal cards and Groups?
From where should it be getting it's information and how can I ensure that it does get the latest version?
If there is a rogue old copy somewhere, what could it be called and how can I find it and delete it and then, perhaps amend the default path to the correct version?
All software and apps on both devices are fully up to date at the time of posting this heartfelt crie de coure!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Well, eventually I had to go to the Level 2 (or whetver they are called) AppleCare geeks to get this resolved, as the "normal" guys couldn't resolve it.
After much "try this ...", "try that ..." and "try the other ..." they narrowed the problem down to a corrupt Address Book Group header in my iMac's Address Book.
It appears impossible to find out just which of my 55 Group headers was corrupt and the only way around it was to export all Contacts individually as vCards, dlete every Group and individual card entry in the Addreess Book and reimport all the vCards - and then somewhat tediously recreate all my Groups again from scratch.
It took  around two and a half hours on the phone to AppleCare and forever to recreate the Groups, but at least it solved the problem!
Whether this helps anyone else i cannot tell, but if you have a bizarre syncing pronblem it might be worth looking at this as a solution.
But take my tip:  before embarking on this, make an entry in the Notes section of each card so that you know to which Group or Groups a card belongs because it was a feat of memory way beyond me to remeber all of them and I still have the odd orphan in there awaiting a home!

  • My Iphone will not sync with my Ipod Itunes account

Just loaded Windows 7 and tried to sync my I phone 4 to Itunes account which is sync'd with my I pod. Will not even recognize it? Please help!

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

  • Horrible sync with my Music / iTunes Files - Need help!

    Hi,
iam very frustrated about options forsyncing media files:
BB Link is not working right or it so **bleep** slow, that 40GB needs 2 days to sync!!!! 2 days????
After syncing 1 album that was bought in iTunes - i missed some files on my phone, so album is not complete.
Why is BB Z10 not playing DRM files ?
    Then i tried next way:
Plugged with my Mac and drag and drop directly Music Album to SDCard. After fast transfer, on my Z10 - Music PLaylist is completely destroyed. That means: Music files are not in row and mixed inside.
Also if you transfer next Album into separate folder, it will not divided on Z10 and all transfered Albums mixed into 1 Playlist! Why?
Iam not able at this moment to transfer 45GB of my bought music to Z10.
    That is very frustrating device.
    For me: No go Blackberry!
    Solution?
btw.: I buyed software to remove DRM - but that cannot be the only solution. Iam sitting weeks for transfering/checking files to my Z10.
Iam shortly to sell it on Ebay.
Blackberry: user dont want to be frustrated by their device, it must work. WORK.
    Alex

Regarding DRM in iTunes, Apple will only let you sync music purchased in their store with DRM protection to iOS devices. A free way to remove the protection is to burn the music to cd and them reimport it to iTunes. As to your other issues, I''m afraid I can't help.

  • IPhone can only sync with one computer?

Well I'm not even really syncing my iPhone, I set it to manual so I could pull songs off of my cousins computer because I don't put many songs on mine. But I went over his house and said I had sync it thus I had to delete all the songs off my iPhone so I could get his... I didn't do it but I have to ask, is this suppose to happen? Or is there a way around it like I could do with my iPod?

you can merge 2 itunes catalogs to 1 ipod? wow i didn't know that cool.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • HT1386 iphone will not sync with itunes the apple sign just keeps popping up

iphone will not sync with itunes or ture on only with it on a charger but will only keep popping up the apple sign or on acation show iso6 on screen and say sync with conputer but as soon as i take it off yhe charger it wont do anything

I followed the instructions in those 2 articles. Still not able to see the device in ITunes. I reinstalled the latest iTunes and all updates to my iMac (Mac OSX ver 10.6.8). I tried 3 different USB Cables in different USB ports. Rebooting both the Iphone and IMac. Still nothing seems to be working. I searched the discussion boards and I see other people with the same problem but they seem to run into the same problems finding a solution. I dont understand what happened because this was working properly up until 2 days ago. Do you have any more suggestions?

  • IPhone won't sync with iTunes.  Help?

iPhone won't sync with iTunes. It just says, "waiting for sync to start." But no matter how long I leave it like that, it never syncs.  Wirelessly or via USB.  I have restarted both my computer and my phone.  I have deleted and reinstalled iTunes. I have installed the latest version of iTunes and the software on my phone is up to date.  Nothing seems to work.
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

I found this on another thread --
Keep your iphone connected. Quit iTunes. Reopen iTunes. Sync begins automatically. It worked for me and several others who had already followed the advice.
    So easy.

  • IPhone trying to sync with second iTunes

My iPhone and iPad sync with my home computer, called "Colin's MacBook".
My work computer, called "Colin's Work MacBook", has the same iTunes library, copied over from a Time Machine backup.
I sync my iPhone and iPad over wifi.
Every time I open iTunes at work, it insists on mounting my iPhone and iPad and syncing them. I've checked the sync settings and it is set to prevent automatically syncing (Settings > Devices).
This changes the Wifi Sync control panel to say "This will sync automatically when 'Colin's Work MacBook' is available", and I have to sync to my home Mac via a cable to change it back.
Then I open iTunes at work the next day and the same thing happens all over again.
How can I get iTunes at work to stop trying to grab the iDevices?

It really has nothing to do with the fact that it is second hand. See here -
