Iphone after succsessful unlocking

I have iphone 5 at&t model A1428, IOS 8.2 clean without contract.
Yesterday I sent a request to unlock online AT&T. Request is successful. I talked to customer support, they confirmed that my phone is unlocked.
But I put my sim card GSM operator from a country outside the United States. I am now outside the United States. And my phone says that it can not work with this sim card.
I shall carry out any instructions. Restores phone. Restores in DFU mode. But I did not help. Customer Support AT&T advised to call Apple. They claim that they have everything in order.
Give me a phone number where I can help in my question?

I see you are having issues getting an unlocked phone to work with a new carrier. It sounds like AT&T has done what they needed to do, now you will need to contact your current carrier, the one you got the new SIM card from. For contact info for your carrier, see this link:

Select your carrier from Carrier Support, but look at the round flag icon in the lower right corner to be sure you have your current location selected. Click on the icon and select it if not already selected.

Cannot activate iphone after carrier unlock. Device says Apple's activation servers are unavailable and iTunes says no sim card in the device I am trying to activate.
The original carrier is AT&T, I live in Canada therefore I am not able to insert an AT&T sim card in the device.
I have restored and updated through itunes as instructed. Restored as new many times in fact.

Well there's nothing we here in this forum can do for you. It's between you, the person who sold you the phone, and the carrier. You'll need to somehow work it out amongst yourselves.
Nothing we users nor Apple can do at this point. Either the person is lying to you and telling you the phone was unlocked, or the phones was unlocked improperly.

HT201407 Per the "Completing Authorized iPhone Unlock" instructions, I connected to iTunes to back up and restore so my iPhone can be unlocked! But after the restore my iPhone is stuck at the activation screen, it will not activate.

I got like the same problem, last days I get message to restore my iPhone, so I did it yesterday and it work very well. In the afternoon I saw that at top in the left corner show invaild sim card or so (only knew the german version). so I restore it again but now it won`t activate after I enter SIM-PIN and it accept it, it shows "No Service".
Anybody can help? My Carrier is o2 Germany.

If you don't get the message, your phone is NOT unlocked.

Remove and reinsert the SIM.
Replace the SIM.
Contact the carrier to troubleshoot the issue.

If you have a SIM password on the device, you need to contact the carrier about that. However, if you are referring to unlocking the phone to enable you to use it with a different carrier's SIM, then you need to contact the carrier the device is locked to, see if they provide unlocking, and then see if you qualify for an unlock. Only the carrier the device is locked to can unlock the phone.

Do you have an AT&T carrier file number showing? The only time you can use Facetime on AT&T cellular is if you are using one of their Shared Data plans. While they have not locked your phone, it appears their carrier file is in control of your device when you have the AT&T SIM card in there.

How did you unlock your iPhone? If you jailbroke it, that probably caused the problem with Safari.
If not, try restarting or restoring your iPhone.

If you send an email they will get back to you within 24 hours. If you chat with a live advisor they will assist you immediately. They are really good at getting you a refund when needed.

Unlocking my iPhone after the contract is over

I purchased my iPhone 18 months ago and my contract with O2 is running out. I am moving for a ob to different country that also have iPhones and I was wondering whether it is possible to LEGALLY unlock my iPhone after the contract it over so I can use it with other operator in other country. Any details, like procedure, prices and everything would be apprecieated.

Not sure if you can. It's down to the carrier in your country as to whether they feel like it or not.

If it's locked to Sprint and you're not a Sprint customer, you're out of luck. They will not unlock it for you. Sell it to someone in the US who can use it and buy a phone you can use.
