IPhone albums to iPhoto

Hello!
I had to reinstall OSX on my computer and lost my iPhoto library.  Is there a way I can transfer the albums from my iPhone or iPad into the new iPhoto library?  I know I can sync the camera roll, but it won't let me sync anything else..
Please help!
Kraich

Th photo sync is one way - computer to ipod.  Pics synced to iphone are reduced in quality, so they will never be of the original quality.  You could e-mail thm to yourself.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Us eyour backup copy to put the pics back.
Certainly you did not reinstall your OS without making sure your backup was current.

  • How to sync photos on iphone album to iphoto

i recently got a new hard drive for my macbook, so all my photos on iphoto are gone. i still have the photos on my iphone, but they're in their own album, and everytime i try to sync my iphone to iphoto, i can only access the photos in the camera roll. is there a way to trasnfer the photos in the iphone albums to iphoto?

Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos are reduced on your iPhone. This is why Apple does not support transferring these photos in the opposite direction.
Photos on your computer's hard drive should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data. Did you lose all important data on your computer's hard drive, or just your iPhoto library?
There are 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring this data in the opposite direction, but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos is lost.
    Here is one.

  • Import iPhone albums into iPhoto

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I haven't seen anything related to this topic :
I have set up custom albums on my iPhone, is there any way to import those albums into iPhoto? As of now, when I plug my phone in, iPhoto only gives me the option to import my photos from my phone in bulk, but has no information about the individual albums I've set up. Basically, I have a few albums with a couple hundred specific pictures that I needs to get in the computer without having to set them up from scratch in iPhoto. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Not really
You can use PhotoStream and set it up to automatically import - place one album in the PS and then after it imports to the Mac flag the photos and create a new event from them or select them and create a new album form them

  • Best way to recreate iPhone album in iPhoto?

My wife's 4S (running IOS6) has about 500 photos in the camera roll. These have over time been synced to iPhoto but she kept them on her phone also. We'd like to organize them in an iPhoto album so it can be managed from the Mac and get them out of her camera roll.
I selected them all and made an album on the phone, but I don't think that helps. My understanding is that I cannot sync this album structure out of the phone. What's my best recourse here, short of manually selecting all of the same photos in iPhoto? I suppose I could re-import them all, make an album out the 'last import' album, and then erase the duplicates but I'd have to erase the originals which would then take them out of other albums that they are in. Maybe re-import, find duplicates, select the earlier ones into album, then erase the later ones? Sounds a bit scary. Both are somewhat a pain since there is no 'find duplicates' feature in iPhoto; I'd have to do it manually or with some add-on software.

Couldn't disagree more with the FM transmitter being the best option. Used to have a car without a cassette player and went through every variation of FM transmitter to get my ipod to play through the car speakers. Took MANY a road trip and a) the sound quality isn't as good as with the cassette adapter and b) when driving, you constantly have to try to find empty bandwidth on the transmitter. In LA, forget about it; there's NOTHING you can tune it to. Originally, I used it on the East Coast, and it was difficult there as well. In the Midwest, it was just ok. In the UK, I don't know.
But, there is a variation of quality among the cassette adapters as well, albeit even the worst ones sounding better than the best FM transmitter. I've gone through quite a few of them as well, and have found the Sony adapter to work the best for me. The Belkin is supposedly pretty good too, but it doesn't play in all decks.
Incidentally, for both the FM transmitter and the tape adapter, make sure you're iphone volume is in the correct place -- not full volume.
Having said that, I went out and bought a DICE system ($150) which was very easy to install (you wire it with your cd player and power source) which charges my iphone and plays my music at whatever quality I encoded it to. And I don't have to fuss with my volume control on the ipod/iphone itself. THIS is the best option for those who don't have the aux jack, but it doesn't meet your expense criterion.

  • Sync iphone albums to iphoto

Hi, I have a friend who has an iPhone 4 and she lost her computer hard drive. Once it was repaired she needs to sync back her photos from her iphone to iPhoto which are in other albums different from camera roll. What could we do to have them back? I tried Picsaid but it does not work with iOS 6. She has a macbook pro.
    Thanks in advance

You need something like this to extract them from the phone:

Bear in mind, these photos were reduced in resolution when synced to the phone. There is no way to recover their full resolution.

One thing to try is to clear out all the photos on your iphone.
Create an empty folder on your desktop.
Connect the iphone and when it shows in itunes, go to the photos tab.
Now set itunes to sync photos from a folder instead of iphoto.
Set the iphone to sync to the new empty folder and click apply.
This will clear out any photos you have synced to your iphone.
Now try syncing the album you want from iphoto.
    Hope this helps.

  • SYNC iPhone albums with iPhoto

Can anyone provide some info on how to sync albums created on my iPhone with my desktop iPhoto?
It doesn't seem like this is a feature - which would be really stupid considering all the work Apple
does for cross device syncronization. Am I really to believe that I have to organize and create albums TWICE?
    Thanks.

    Yes you do
That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.

  • Import photos iphone albums to iphoto macbook pro

How do I import iphone photos to mac book pro? I am new to MacBook Pro laptop. Always been a PC user until now.
    Thanks.

iPhoto only imports from your Camera Roll on the iPhone. Other apps can import from other parts of the phone. iExplorer is one such app, but there are others. Search on MacUpdate
However, are you trying t migrate data from your PC to the new Mac? If so that's not a great way to go. The photos are reduced in quality for your phone, so you'll lose things between your PC and the Mac working that way.

  • Deleting photos imported onto your iphone 3g from iphoto

I've imported photos into my iphone and found it easy to delete images that I've taken with the camera, but not how to do so on the ones I've imported. How do you do this?
    thanx,

Delete the pics from the album that you sync to your iphone and they will be deleted from iphone next time you sync.
I have an album named iphone. Only pics that I want on iphone go in that album. Whatever I add or erase from the iphone album in iphoto is reflected in the iphone, next time I sync.

I am trying to copy 3 photos from an album in iPhoto to my iPhone. I have tried to move them to PhotoStream. I "select" the photos in the Album and then click on PhotoStream in the "Share" menu at the bottom of the screen. Nothing happens.  I have also tried emailing them tyo myself but iPhoto won't send the email. It tells me it doesn't recognize my ID and password. My operating is Lion on an iMac.

Thank you for responding to my question, above, this morning. And thank you for the link about PhotoStream. It was helpful in understanding how Photostream works, but, unfortunately, doesn't really reference my problem since it assumes that the photos were originated on one of my  Apple devices. The photos I want to copy to my iPhone are in an album on iPhoto but I had originally downloaded them from my camera to my iMac then moved them to the album. The confusing thing for me is that they are 3 of a dozen photos takern over a period of 12 years on different digital cameras (two were taken on film and later scanned and eventually moved to the album in iPhoto) and all but three of the photos moved to photostream and are on my iPhone. It is those three, which were all taken on digital cameras and moved to the album, which I can't get to move to Photostream.

  • Organizing Albums in iPhoto on the iPad/iPhone

I have an iPad Air and an iPhone 5, and prefer to have my photos arranged by Albums, Not "events"  But in iPhoto on these, when I look at the album view it arranges the albums alphabetically, whereas I want to  have them arranged by topic - the topic organization I choose.
I edit and create the albums in iPhoto on my Mac, and have them organized the way I want there.  Why doesn't it keep that arrangement of the albums?  I can't find out any way to rearrange them the way I want them.
Why can't we organize things the way we want?
By the way, it is much easier to edit and organize o nthe mac, with its bigger screen and extra screens.
Also, is there a way to have Photos, or iPhoto (on the iPad & iPhone) access the keywords and titles I have given them in iPhoto on the Mac?
    Thanks

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run  Option #4 to rebuild the database
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
    or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • I cannot view/sync albums from iPhoto on my iPhone whilst iCloud photo library is on. Why? and is there a way of doing it.

I cannot view/sync albums from iPhoto on my iPhone whilst iCloud photo library (beta) is on. Why? and is there a way of doing it. It is especially frustrating given I have subscribed to more space yet I have to turn it off to view!

I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

So what I have gleemed from this thread - is that Apple will not help me if an iPad mini is dropped and the screen breaks.  I would have lived without the insurance if I could have simply bought a new screen and then had it replaced by Apple.
On something so fragile I would have expected a piece of glass to be a replacement part. But I am glad I made this post because now I no for sure if I break the screen there is no way to have it fixed by Apple and keep it in Warranty.
Yup, kind of like anything else you accidentally break that is more cost effective to replace than to repair. Keep that iPad away from the toddler

  • Syncing iPhoto and iPhone Albums

When I create a photo album in iPhoto, it shows up in my iPhone after I sync, but when I create an album with Photos on my iPhone, it does not show up in iPhoto after I sync.  Is this how it's supposed to work?

If you don't want your photo albums from iPhoto to sync to your iPhone you need to turn off the photo sync option for your iPhone in iTunes.
Open iTunes with iPhone connected usb -> click on iPhone (at left column) -> click on photo tabs (main screen far right) -> deselect "sync photos from"
Now, if you want certain photos to show your friends you can create a folder and then select it from the above process.
    Hope this helps.

No, there is not yet a way to do that. Albums created on the iPhone cannot be synced back to the mac.
You might try other ways to send photos back to the mac in a structured way, depending on your IOS version:
You could use Journals instead of albums. If you share a Journal, you can see it on your Mac.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3152
Or create shared photo streams.  iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams
