IPhone always showing 'E' on status bar...

I've got iPhone 2G and it always shows that it is connected to Edge and shows 'E' on the status bar. Due to this it gets very hot and battery gets empty faster...
Is there anyway to disable Edge or close it temporarily..?

If you are connecting to the internet via the edge network then yes, you are getting charged ( or it is counting against your allotment).
Checking/fetching e-mail, visual voicemail, apps, location services, can all use the internet.
The iphone is designed to have access to the internet available at all times.
You can turn off the data option if you like.

IPhone 6: Where's the status bar in landscape mode?

I just got the iPhone 6 (I believe iOS 8.1) and my only problem is that it removes the status bar in when in landscape mode. I find it extremely annoying that I can no longer see the time, monitor my battery life, check whether if I'm even receiving a signal, etc. when I'm using apps such as Safari or Notes in landscape mode. Is there any way to get the status bar back like in previous software versions? So far, I hate having to switch to portrait mode, using the pull down menu, or pressing the home button just to see it...

Same here - I returned my original, same problem on the second one, and same problem on my son's phone. I called Apple tech months ago, got to a senior supervisor who assured me he'd get back to me, but never did.

IPhone always shows 3G when waking from sleep

Lately it seems that whenever I wake the phone from sleep, the screen shows 3G at the top, then switches to the wifi symbol after a couple of seconds. My phone is always on wifi at home, at my parents', and at my in-laws, so why does it always show the 3G symbol and then switch over when I hit the Home or Wake button? Seems like it should stay on wifi if it's connected to the wifi network.

When the iPhone goes into sleep mode it loses the WiFi connection. It takes a brief time for it to reconnect when you wake it.

IPhone always shows I have new e-mail

The iPhone home screen always shows that I have a new e-mail using my Gmail account. I have even tried deleting all the e-mail in my gmail account (it's a new one I made for iPhone use) and then sending a test mail. I'll read the test mail on the iPhone and it will still show that I have 1 new e-mail.
Anything that I'm overlooking?

You may have two e-mail accounts. For instance did you recently sign up for a .Mac trial with e-mail?. Try this look at the left hand corner see if it says accounts with a back arrow hit that. If it's showing two accounts go to the non-g-mail account and delete the new message. That should do it!

Install a SIM card.
If you have and the error is still occurring the a hardware issue most likely exists.

A second non-functional progress bar is always visible on the status bar, how can I get rid of it?

The second bar is inside of the sizing grip on the right side of the status bar. It does nothing, but take up space. The functional progress bar appears only when it is working inside of the message panel and outside of the authentication panel on the left side of the status bar. I've turned the status bar off and then on again--no luck. I've also tried disabling all add-ons--no luck. I've also changed themes--no luck. Do I need to re-install the browser?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
If you have many extensions then you can first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

TS3376 My sons iPhone always shows up in Austin TX when he is actually in another city.

You cannot use the Bluetooth on the iPhone to connect to another iPhone. That is why it only shows searching. As far as the iPhone heating up when charging, some of that is normal, however if your phone heats up to the point to where you cannot hold it, then something is wrong. You can try to reset and/or restore the phone's software, however it sounds like it may be a battery issue. I suggest an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store for a checkup.

-Turned on automatic set
-Turned off automatic set
-Changed the time on the iPhone
-Checked the time on my pc

Who is your carrier is one question. If you have auto time set on, then it gets it from the carrier. And by doing so it gets it from the tower or repeater it connects to when it first gets a signal (and again when loses signal and gets signal again). Some carriers have issues at some towers or repeaters that the clocks on them are off thus sending out wrong time, and in some countries it is even worse so that is why I ask where you live.
If auto time is set to off you should be able to just set it manually and it should be fine. I myself am unsure if syncing alters the time any but may adjust timezone info so did you verify your computer has correct time zone as well.

Hotfix4 shows IOS status bar at the top

After updated to Director 12 with Hotfix4 a week ago, my ipad/iphone apps have a IOS status bar shows up at the top. Which didn't show in previous hotfix.
Any one know a way to make this "IOS status bar" (with battery, time, wifi, 3g status symbols) disappear or hidden?

I just spent the last hour trying to find a work-a-round for your problem - but no luck
I can say you are right, it's like the 3d objects have there own locZ channel order - always on top of every other type of graphic or text object except other 3d objects.
If they were locked into DTS they would move on top of other 3d objects
it's all very strange
I tried turning on and off hardware acc. openGL / preferred renderer - but still no luck here!
A crazy idea - if you need to move bitmap sprites over the top of 3d objects - could you save each bitmap graphic as flat plain 3d object, which you could then move freely over the over 3d objects.
But they would have to be rectangles.
Yes to secret apps for the moment - but only for a few months until all the international versions are finished.
Then I will be happy to show everybody what I've been up too.

Status bar covers top of iPhone apps on iPad2/ mini

Since iOS 7 came out I have had several iPhone apps that have the status bar visible and is on top of the app, hiding the top portion of the screen (in games, usually where scores are or number of lives left). Prior to iOS 7 the satus bar was hidden if I had the game in 2x mode, but with iOS 7 I can't even go back to 1x mode. Is their a fix for this or is it a bug that will hopefully get fixed in an update? I kept hoping each update would fix it but no such luck yet. Or is it an app issue?
Most of them are older apps and does this both on my iPad 2 and iPad Mini.

I just want to leave this picture here, showing how annoying the status bar is since the last update.
i made this picture on my ipad mini playing the iphone game Zenonia the status bar hides half of the map (upper left corner) and the backpack button (upper right corner) making it impossible to play the game because that button is really important.
i hope that this gets fixed someday.

How to Show String Error Message in SAP status bar?

I am doing some custom check in SBO_SP_TransactionNotification and Setting
   SET @error = -1
   SET @error_message='Duplicate Web Order ID'
   select @error, @error_message
But in SAP interface it is only showing -1 in status bar, I could not show error_message in status bar. How it could be achieved.
