IPhone and Bose Headset

I just bought an iPhone and really like it. I have a set of Bose noise cancelling headphones I have been using on my old iPod and when I tried them on my iPhone they did not work. I could not hear anything despite them being plugged in (and yes I had them turned on - :P). I tried the headphones that came with the phone, and those worked fine.
Am I not suppose to be able to use these awesome headphones with my iPhone?? I am thinking I need to take the phone back, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue?
Thanks, Scott

Well according to Bose their cables do not work here is a reply from Bose and my QC2 and Cell Connect kit from Bose. I wish I still had the message I sent Bose because the Bose Cell Connect Kit page says they work with the iPhone.

Mr. Trinkle,
Thank you for the inquiry. The Apple iPhone incorporates a deeply recessed headphone jack that makes it incompatible with most headphones on the market, including Bose(R) headphones. Bose will soon introduce an adapter that will allow our headphones to be used with the iPhone. We do not have a time frame for when this will be available however.
The Belkin Company makes an adaptor, for standard headphones, which make them compatible with the iPhone.

  • IPhone and Bose SoundDock

Has anyone tried using their iPhone with the Bose SoundDock?
I was wondering if it would work. I know my Belkin cable to use the iPod in the car to play music through the sound system (that I bought at the Apple store) will not work with my iPhone.

Yes, the Bose Sounddock is fully compatible with the iPhone.
This page outlines how to use the iPhone with the Sounddock:

  • Iphone and Bose Headphones

Has anyone else had trouble getting their Iphone to work with Bose Quiet Comfort 3 Headphones? I can't get sound through mine and it feels like the plug into the phone is not fitting snugly. Any help would be appreciated.

The port on the iPhone is a lot narrower. The headphones will work but you will need an adapter. The adapter is just narrow on the end that plugs into the iphone.

  • IPhone and Apple Headset

I am unable to get my Apple Headset to function with my iPhone. It was working fine, until someone plugged in their iPhone into the charger while my headset charging. I assume that the Apple Headset then paired with that persons iPhone. Never-the-less, once I re-paired the two (again), things should've been fixed. I've done everything that the manuals instruct me to do, yet I still can't receive calls via the headset, even though the indicator light says there is a connect.

    Hi OTM,
Try remove the iPhone Bluetooth Headset, from Settings> General> Bluetooth, and then pair it to the iPhone again manually as described on page 9 of the iPhone Bluetooth Headset User Guide.

  • IPhone and BlueAnt V1 Issue

I have been using a BlueAnt V1 with my iPhone for three weeks now without a problem.
Today, everything changed when I attempted a phone call with mu headset; I heard a buzzing sound and the call was terminated. This was true for incoming calls as well.
The headset pairs and works properly with other phones in the office, but not mine. I called BlueAnt, they say it's a problem with the phone. Apple tells me it's a third party device that could void my warranty.
I have reset both devices multiple times (including 2 hard resets on the phone) to no avail. Any suggestions?

    Hi papamo,
Make sure your iPhone is updated. This web page provides more details about the latest iPhone software: http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/
Try un-pairing and then paring the iPhone and the headset again.

  • Old iPhone cradle with headset.

So, I currently have an Apple bluetooth headset. When I purchased it it came with a new cradle so you can charge both the iPhone and the headset at the same time. Well, it appears that the cradle doesn't work with the 3G.
I hate laying my beautiful black 3G on its back to sync...

    This has already been discussed.
There is a new 3G dual Dock. It is not available in the online store. It is 49.00 at Apple Retail STores only -- and every single one of them is sold out nationwide until new stock is replenished. There is no estimate for when they will be in the stores.
The lack of a listing in the Online Store is a good indicator that there isn't any replacement stock available yet. In the SE Michigan stores, each Apple store got 5 new 3G dual docks last friday at launch. All were sold out before 10 am.

  • Bose headset no longer works on iPhone 4

My Bose headset, which worked flawlessly on 3GS, no longer works for voice control and voice memos on my new iphone 4. They still work fine as headphones but the microphone no longer is operational. The Apple supplied headset works and if I unplug the Bose set the voice dialing and memos work okay.
But when I use the Bose headset and try to record a voice memo it includes a rhythmic static every half second or so. Voice control is completely non-operational with this headset. I'm thinking something with the noise canceling is screwed up.
Anyone have any possible work arounds?

Ya, this is a bit of a Joke.
I have an $80 pair of skullcandy headphones with Mic that I just recently purchased for my iPhone 3G. When I jumped to the iPhone4 it doesnt work. The apple headset works every time. When I plug in the skull candy, I can hear the person I'm calling but they cant hear me and to add to that, there is this staticy pulsing sound on the line from the headset. If I press and hold the Talk/Music button on my SC headset, the person I'm calling can hear me but they say I sound like I'm in the background. I thought as you did that the mic on the phone was then in use, but when i disconnected the headset, the person I called said it changed and I sounded "Really" far away at that point.
Apple: So how do I fix this? I refuse to carry around two headsets and the apple headset is less than desireable for quality music listening.

  • HT204387 Why won't my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.2 sync with my Nissan Murano or Bose headset?

I upgraded to iOS 8.2, and now my iPhone 6 won't recognize or connect to my Bose headset or 2014 Nissan Murano. Prior to upgrading, my phone worked seamlessly with both.

First, with one of the devices on, go to Settings/Bluetooth. Do you see the device? Can you tap on its name and connect it? Try with the other also.
If this doesn't resolve the problem you will need to re-pair the device. Put it in pairing mode, and go to Settings/Bluetooth on the phone, then tap on its name.

  • I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13 with no restore disk; it has OS 10.8.4 I believe there is something wrong with the OS due to I can not install flash player to view Youtube videos and the when we plug in a Bose headset the sound out will work sometimes

I bough a used Macbook Pro mid 2009 that came with OS 10.8.9 it didn't have a backup restore disk with S/N W8******66D
When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.
Thanks for your feed back......it looks like I have two different issues one is a software issue and the outher is a hardware issue

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

  • Only one of my earbuds on my bose headphones works with my ipad, iphone and macbook- if I hold them there the right earbud will work, but for the life of me, I can't get them to both work. Why is this? And is Apple doing anything about this?

Why is this? And is Apple doing anything about this? While Apple's headphones have (finally) admittedly gotten better of late, I still prefer the much more comfortable headphones & sound quality that Bose makes and that I spent the money for.

I am unable to see the airplay icon on my macbook air, iphone or iPad which would enable me to use my Bose speaker through airplay. I set this up in the UK but have taken my macbook and bose speaker travelling with through Thailand. Ive wifi in my room and am able to access the internet on my laptop, Ive also been able to through the Bose Soundlink air wifi set application connect the bose speaker to the Wifi too.
I am only able to play my itunes through my macbook speakers and cannot find the airplay button which should be next to the volume slide once turned down to less than 1/3 of the volume..

Thanks for your help.  Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV.  I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air.  Thanks again.

  • IPhone 2.0 and Bluetooth Headset

Does the new 2.0 upgrade work with or recognize the existing Bluetooth headset at all? I left my headset on the charger for a couple weeks, it says "paired" but im unable to connect, activate or make calls with Bluetooth headset. I read all the posts, but they are mostly relating to Bluetooth compatibility with various vehicles. I want regular connection to my phone. Its not happening. What gives?

I found this answer on another discussion and it works!
Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth > then touch the "iPhone Bluetooth Headset Paired" button.
A menu will pop up. One of the choices is "Unpair." Touch "Unpair."
When it unpairs, put your iPhone and headset back in the charger, where they will autopair again.

  • Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect; status bar looks good. But audio always comes out the speaker. Thx.

Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect as expected (with a PIN); status bar looks good and shows Bluetooth active, and I even see the iPhone displays the battery levels of the wireless earbuds. But audio always comes out the speaker. (If I plug in wired headphones into the headphone jack then audio comes into the wired headphones, as expected.) I have rebooted the iPhone; I have had it forget about the wireless earbuds, and repaired and reconnected; I have reset all network settings. Thx in advance.
PS: I understand that more recent versions of iOS have a way to choose where audio output goes (speaker, headphone jack, Bluetooth device). Does this older version of iOS? I could not find an option or setting.

I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen.

  • Share bluetooth headset between iPhone and Mac

Just got a Sennheiser MM100 headset (love it).
I'd like to use it with both my iPhone and Mac. But if I've paired it with both, I can't seem to control which device will use the headset for audio when I turn it on.
In other words, I'd like to be able to turn on the headset in the presence of both the Mac and iPhone, and decide which device I want the headset paired with on the fly, without having to pair/unpair the device or deactivate bluetooth on one of the devices.
    Any way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Any way to do this?
    None that I'm aware of.
