IPhone and changes to DVD Player

Since I've hooked up my iPhone, I have noticed that when I use DVD Player, the movie is VERY jerky when the controller is on the screen. When it disappears, the jerkyness goes away.
Any similar observations.. or just a coincidence?

Your D-Link router should have come with documentation on how to configure it, including the admin username and password.
But generally you use your browser (Safari) and use the URL 192.168.1.1 (or it might be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1). You can get your routers address via System Preferences -> Networking -> Advanced -> TCP/IP.
You should check to see if the default admin username and password are on one of the labels on the D-Link in very tiny print.
Else Google you router's make and model along with "default admin username and password" and you should find instructions for how to access your router.

You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.

Any ideas why iTunes renders my DVD drive unusable?  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and when reinstalling I had my device manager open and saw during the installation how my DVD player went from accessible to not being able to start.
    Why is this happening?
    Here is my computer information:

There's a few different possibilities with a code 10, Kelly. To narrow in on the likeliest culprits it would help to have a closer look at your system.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Controlling brightness and contrast in DVD Player

Is it possible to control the brightness and contrast in DVD player?

It depends on your graphics controller. Select "Show Supported Features" in DVD Player's "Help" menu. If it shows "Video Color" supported, you can choose "Video Color" from the "Windows" menu. Don't forget to click the "On" box at the top-left.

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

I have had my mac book pro for about a year and a half and suddenly my dvd player will not play DVDs and i can not play alot of things on full screen. Does anybody know how i can fix this?

This could be several things, but let's get the obvious ones out of the way, first:
    1. Judging from your text, there's no problem with anything stuck in the mechanism; it's more an issue of no being to put in a disk. In other words, you're sure that there isn't a disk stuck in your MBP. (That happens a lot for all computers.)
    2. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, and repair the disk. This should take under 10 minutes.
    3. Perform the procedure outlined here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?
    4. After you're done, leave a message here as to the status of the repair.

She needs to deactivate iMessage on her device and the re-activate using the correct number.

  • Changed my DVD player, added memory and itunes stopped working...

I'm frustrated. I recently added a DVD player to my PC and itunes stopped working properly. It gave me a "Warning: Registry settings used by itunes devices for importing & burning cd & DVD are missing by installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes.".
I uninstalled and installed itunes again using the control panel and I get the EXACT same warning after reboot! Does anyone have a clue as to the problem?
I go to play song in my library and it passes over my selection down the library of many new albums that I installed, and stops on the older album installs and plays only those albums. Very frustrating that they offer no itunes software support.

It gave me a "Warning: Registry settings used by itunes devices for importing & burning cd & DVD are missing by installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes.".
In this context it's almost certainly a device filter conflict in the Registry. The following document would be the best place to turn next:

  • Trying to get my videos off iphone and onto a dvd

So I have a few questions..if anyone can help its so much appreciated!
I am trying to get my iphoto videos onto a dvd with my macbook pro. Just bought IDVD. I made a dvd with a few clips just to make sure it worked and it worked good except....
    1. Do I really have to go to my external harddrive each time to import a video--I have 5 years worth so this takes to long. I tried to drag and drop from "Finder" but  it would not work for me. Any other ideas?
    2. When I put the dvd into my dvd player it worked although I had to go to the main menu for each video(some clips are very short) Is there a way before I complete the burn dvd process to set it where the videos run continously?
    3. The audio is a little low on the videos--anyway to make it louder(other than turning the tv up!?)
    thank you:)

  • Changing Apple DVD Player Region

My laptop is refusing to play a lot of DVDs - DVD Player opens but stays on a blank, black screen instead of loading the legal disclaimers and the DVD menu. If i use the little metal 'controller' to try to get the DVD to play then i get a no entry sign and a message that reads 'Supported disc not available'. Previously, i also get an error message that said that I needed to change my DVD region, (i think from region 4 to region 2, but i can't be sure as this was some time ago), but that it could only be changed two more times. So, because I don't want to set it to the wrong region just to play a couple of DVDs and then get stuck with that setting and not be able to play anything else, I want to know what the most common/official region for all UK DVDs is, and how to set it to that. I really don't understand the point of this nonsense, why am I limited as to how many times I can change this? And why do different DVDs have different region codes anyway, surely a DVD is a DVD, right?
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this matter,
    LSRW.

    Hi BDAqua,
Yes, I was aware of this, but the last time it prompted me to change the region it told me that I have two changes left, and I didn't opt to change it that time as I didn't know what I was doing and didn't want to use up a change. I have never changed it before myself, but I bought the laptop second hand.

  • Iphone video's on DVD player?

Can I connect my iphone video's/movies to play on a portable DVD player? We're travelling on an airplane and wondered if we could do this for the kids.

If the player has a composite or component video input and an audio input, then yes, it should be possible. You'd need the appropriate AV cable for the input:

  • 10.5.3 and Front Row DVD player crashes

I have been using Front Row with 10.5.2 to play DVDs - seamless experience
Upgraded to 10.5.3 and have been getting regular crash out of front row to home page.
    Is this a known issue?

    Rasterblaster wrote:

    Symptom seen:
In the middle of DVD playback MPEG codec glitch (i.e. blocks formed when b or p frames not propertly decode), on other occasions playback stops, image changes to the desktop (what ever it is called in mac speak) then after about 1/2 secs the playback resumes.
Yesterday spotted after I finished watching the standard leopard DVD player icon was left on the screen with an error code (sorry I didn't note the code).
This has happened with a couple of DVDs from the same box set (disk is clean/not scratched). The issue didn't happen with 10.5.2 (but different box set). So I don't know if Apple played with the DVD player in 10.5.3 or its integration with frontrow?
All the readme for 10.5.3 says about video is
''Addresses an issue with stuttering video and audio playback in certain USB devices"
This is not directly related but you never know?
Did you do the usual HD and permissions repair before and after upgrading?
