Iphone and Ipad Close to each other: Drains phone Battery?

Just an experience I have had that I wanted to share with all those that use an Ipad AND an Iphone:
I have found that if I leave my iphone next to my ipad, and neither of them is charging, the battery on the iphone will be totally discharged within about an hour or so!
This has happened to me three times now, and I figured out what was going on!
I have no idea why this occurs (but I ASSUME that the Iphone is "talking" to the Ipad?).
The first time this happened, the iphone battery was so depleted that I had to charge it for about 30 minutes before it would boot up.
I see lots of questions on the Apple site referring to battery problems with the iPhone and this issue my address some of the battery discharge questions.

I agree....but the bluetooth feature on both the phone and the ipad are not used. Why this happens is beyond me.
I was wondering if it has something to do with the cloud stuff due to the fact that when I download SOME apps (not all apps) on the ipad, it also downloads to the iphone. My thought was that maybe that is where the issue may orginate from.
I just don't know...but I do know now to keep the two separated from each other when they aren't charging!

  • HT204387 My iphone and ipad can see each other on bluetooth but can't connect

When I touch to connect, I get an error that reads 'make sure the iphone is turned on and in range". I can see the bluetooth connection on both devices, they just won't connect. I have turned off wifi on both devices. I have also tried connecting to & from both devices.

I downloaded an app that can share a presentation loaded on one device with up to 15 other iOS devices. It said it would work over bluetooth.  I didn't realize you couldn't "pair" the devices but still use bluetooth. The developer said just to turn them both on and low and behold, it works like a charm and I feel silly.
Thanks for your interest, I've learned a lot today.

  • Can I pair my iPhone and iPad so I can put the phone in my bag and take calls threw the iPad like the ASUS

Can I pair my iPhone and iPad so I can put the phone in my bag and take calls threw the iPad like the new ASUS tablet/phone combo ?
As a Quadriplegic I keep dropping my mouth stick on the ground and I fumble for my phone when it rings the table on my wheelchair is cluttered with my iPad iPhone mouth stick and TV and AC remotes I want to be able to put my iPhone in my bag and receive calls threw the iPad.
All new electric wheelchairs allow you to pair the joystick or chin control of the chair to only one device so currently you have to sacrifice your use of one to use the other if we can pair the iPhone and iPad by wifi we can then sit the iPad in a mount on our wheelchairs and pair it ia bluetooth and operate them with ease .
Can anyone out there help me or pass on my needs to a development team within Apple, please help as I don't want to have to buy the ASUS tablet/phone

I would like to be able to do this also but, i'm not sure how to set my iPad to manually sync for one thing and also, when I connect my iPad to my new (recently purchased, first time, new to this) iMac it only gives me the option to either set up as 'new' or 'restore to my recent iPhone back up'. I just want them to be separate. How can I fix this please?

  • I CAN'T GET MY MACBOOK AIR, IPHONE OR IPAD CONNECT TO EACH OTHER THROUGH BLUETOOTH. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE SUGGESTIONS I HAVE READ, INCLUDING RESTARTING DEVICES, FORGETTING DEVICES, TURNING BLUETOOTH ON AND OFF.

I am unable to connect my Macbook air, iPhone or iPad though bluetooth. I have tried all the suggestions I have read. i.e. toggle bluetooth on and off, turn devices on and off, forget devices and then pair. I seem to be able to pair but the devices immediately go to not connected and a message appears that reads: make sure devices are turned on and in range.

Pairing the phone with the car is one thing, but paring to the computer is not generally supported. Tethering is using the cellular data access from the phone for the other devices. It is part of Personal Hotspot. If you aren't aware of what it is, then it probably is something you do not use.
As far as the car is concerned, what is not working? Does the car not see the phone, or the phone see the car, or after you start to pair something fails? If you provide more information about the problem and what you have tried to do to correct it, then we can offer some solutions. What version of the iPhone, what iOS, and what year and make of vehicle?

  • How do I seperate myself and 2 teenagers phones and ipads from getting each others texts (icloud)

    hi
This is all new to me...As a parent,I have my iphone with my account for apple with my email as the main contact address...here's the problem.
My two teenagers ALWAYS get or at least can read from their phones/ipads ALL my texts i send/receive and vice versa from my friends.
Since they are just 16- they share my account on Itunes/apple etc... QUESTION!  Is there a way that I can BLOCK their iphones/ipads from getting my personal messages???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank You!!

If you use the same Apple ID for iMessage you'll get each other's text messages.  You can still share the same ID for iTunes, but you should use separate IDs for iMessage.  To change the ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID.  (You should do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime to avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls.)

  • Can't trust this computer for iphone and ipad with Itunes

    hi all
after updating to ios 7.1.1 on both my iphone 4s and ipad I keep getting this message when I connect my phone or ipad to my iMac
:iTunes could not connect to this iPad. You do not have permission.
then this : Do you want to allow this computer to access information on “davidbarton’s iPad”?
If you don’t allow access, you will not be able to manage or sync your iPad with this computer.
I click trust on the device and then continue from within iTunes and I get this : iTunes could not connect to this iPad. You do not have permission.
I have started getting this too after running disk utility and verify disk permissions, then running repair disk permissions
: The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54).
*** is going on please and how can i fix it, anyone?
    thanks

    Yes.
Anything you uncheck in iTunes remains the same with iTunes regardless which device you are syncing.
I make use of iTunes playlists for the music I want transferred to my iPhone. Under the Music tab for my iPhone sync preferences, I have selected playlists, artists, and genres chosen. I select the iTunes playlists and/or artists and genres that I want transferred to my iPhone. I also have sync only checked songs and videos selected under the Summary tab for my iPhone sync preferences. This way if I want to remove a song or songs from my iPhone without removing the songs from the playlist I've selected to be transferred to my iPhone, I can uncheck the song or songs in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. Or I can remove a song or songs from the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. To add additional music to my iPhone, I can add the music to one of the playlists in iTunes I've selected to be transferred to my iPhone followed by a sync.
You can have the same playlist or playlists transferred to both, or different playlists transferred to each, but whatever is deselected in iTunes will be reflected on both with sync only checked songs and video selected for your iPhone and iPad sync preferences.

  • Does the OS X Mountain Lion upgrade include iPhones and iPads?

This is probably a dumb question, but does the OS X Mountain Lion upgrade automatically include iPhones and iPads?

I don't know quite what you mean. Mountain Lion is for Macs and has nothing directly to do with iPhones and iPads at all.

  • Me and my wife share itunes acct for iour iphones and ipads how do we stop geting each others e-mails on our own devices

me and my wife have iphones and ipads but we seam to get each others e-mails and would like to keep them seperate how do we do that when shareing one itunes acct

According the this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html, "After moving to iCloud, family member accounts are no longer linked to the master account."  You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

  • I share an Apple ID with someone but we are now on iOS8 and getting each others messages on our iphones and ipad. How can I split the account safely as well as protect icloud backed up data?

I share an Apple ID with someone but we are now on iOS8 and getting each others messages on our iphones and ipad. How can I split the account safely as well as protect icloud backed up data?

Use different Apple IDs for iMessage (and also FaceTime) to avoid getting each others text messages (and FaceTime calls).  One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (and Settings>FaceTime), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  You can continue to shared the same ID for the iTunes store and other services.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • How do I eliminate duplicated emails among my desktop, iphone, and ipad? They appear on all three devices and when deleted on one device they remain on the other two. So I have to go through all of my emails to delete on each device.

How do I eliminate receiving duplicated emails among my desktop, iphone, and ipad? After I read and delete on one device they still appear on the other two devices so I have to go through and delete them all again on each device.

It all depends on how your e-mail provider talks to the iPad. Some allow a lot of control, others not so much. My Yahoo works seamlessly between my Touch, iPad and computer. My hotmail, however, won't show up as 'read' on all devices, i have to open it on each one.
Some e-mails will allow you to tweak those settings and let your device alter what's on the server, others won't.
What e-mail program/provider are you dealing with?

  • I own a 13-inch MacBook Pro and for the past day, my wifi on my laptop says I only have two bars of connection and is running very slow, but all of my other devices such as my iPhone and iPad are connecting perfectly to the wifi. How can I fix this? Thanks

I own a 13-inch MacBook Pro and for the past day, my wifi on my laptop says I only have two bars of connection and is running very slow, but all of my other devices such as my iPhone and iPad are connecting perfectly to the wifi. How can I fix this? I have tried to shut my laptop off and let it rest and I have also re-started my wifi router three different times. Someone please help me with this problem so I can begin to use my laptop again as I take it to school and use it for class.
    Thanks so much!

FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
    -Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
    -Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.
EDIT: Or use the really simple explaination that X posted as I was typing.

  • I have both my iPhone and iPad backing up via iCloud, but they are not sharing the information between devices ie if I purchase an app on one it does not transfer to the other although the backup is successful via iCloud.

I have both my iPhone and iPad backing up via iCloud but the data is not being shared between the devices. When I backup it appears to be working as there are no error messages but the data is not shared between each. Any help would be great as this is very frustrating.

Backing up to icloud is not the same as syncing data between devices.  Go to
Settings>Store.  Turn on the automatic downloads that you want on that screen.
Settings>iCloud.  Turn on the features you want to sync between devices.

  • HT5622 both my 2 children have an iphone and iPads each but only one computer with one apple id( one itune account) is there away to have 3 different apple id's on one computer? and if so how?

Both Myself and my 2 children have an iphone and ipad each but only 1 computer and itunes account( 1 apple id) is there away to have 3 itunes accounts on 1 computer as we are all sick of get each other apps and contacts messages, ect.

Do your children have separate user accounts on the shared mac? They can have their own user accounts with their own AppleIDs, but you could put the iTunes Library into a shared folder, or better an external drive with the ignore ownership option set.
