Iphone and outlook contact issue

Whenever I enter or edit a contact on my iphone it shows up in outlook with the first name, last name reversed = Smith,John. I have changed settings in outlook from file as field both ways to no avail. Anyone else having this problem, any fix?

I was having the exact same problem. Connect iPhone 3g and Canon CameraWindow would open with a notification that no camera was attached.
I found a setting in ImageCapture which controls what happens when you connect a camera. In the preferences menu, just select none. Problem fixed.

Why aren't my iPhone and outlook contacts separate in Outlook after syncing?

I have synced my iPhone contacts with Outlook (2013 running on Windows 7 Pro) but I find that in Outlook the contacts from my iPhone have been co-mingled with my Outlook contacts, all appearing under my Outlook exchange server account contacts view.
My Outlook contacts view does show other contacts categories: one called "icloud" - this contains only my own e-mail address registered to my iTunes account.
I have also created an iCloud e-mail account and set this up under Outlook, but this is also empty of contacts.
Does anyone know how to set up Outlook/iCloud so that my iP{hone contacts appear under the heading iCloud (or the iCloud e-mail account) rather than being merged with my Outlook contacts?

First things to check is to make sure iCloud is on on both devices and you are signed I n to the same account on each device. Also check to make sure Contacts syncing is on on both devices.

I'm trying to sync my Outlook 2010 contacts with my iPhone (iOS6.1.3) using iTunes (11.0.1.12). I no longer have the option under the iTunes Info tab to "Sync contacts from" so I can't select Outlook. At one point, it was there. It now states that the contacts are being synced with iPhone over the air from iCloud, but I have no other options or way to change this. What can be done to fix this? Thanks.

Problem solved- I needed to uncheck the option under Settings/iCloud on the iPhone to sync the contacts with iCloud. With this turned off, I get the option again to sync with Outlook under the Info tab in iTunes.

Synchronizing my contacts between iPhone and Outlook

I currently synchronize my calendars between my iPhone and Outlook via the USB connection between my computer and the phone. I tried to do the calendar synchronization through the iCloud, as that looked really slick, but I didn't like some of the side effects, so I went back to synchronizing directly between my computer and my phone. It seems like to synchronize the contacts, the only option is to use iCloud, but I don't know if I can do that only for the contacts and not have my calendar involved? Any suggestions on how I do this?

After syncing, lost almost all contacts (except 12) on iPhone and Outlook

I did a sync on Thursday and I lost almost all contacts (except 12 contacts) on both iPhone and Outlook. Only 6 of remaining 12 contacts were new entries since last syncing. So, some old contacts stays and most of got ereased. I tried to search for possible solutions with no luck. I got my iPhone in Asia to be able to have Chinese character input. I am traveling now and it looks like I dont' have a backup file of my outlook.
Is there a way to retrive the contact data from the iPhone Hard Drive?

Not sure what happened here, but I'm not aware of an iTunes prompt to sync an iPhone that is connected. Each iPhone includes a preference setting to automatically sync with iTunes when connected - which I recommend turning off. This is selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. iTunes includes a preference setting to not automatically sync and iPod or iPhone when connected. This is a personal choice, but I prefer manually syncing, or syncing when I want to in case I want to make any changes before my iPhone is synced.
I assume your Father does not maintain a backup of his Address Book data on his Mac, or any other important data? The Address Book application includes a simple and quick backup Address Book option which is important to use when syncing any device, but is important regardless in case a problem arises with the Address Book database.
On your Father's Mac, with the Address Book application quit, go to Home > Library > Application Support > AddressBook.
Within the Address Book folder, move the AddressBook.data file to the Desktop.
Change the name of the AddressBook.data.previous to AddressBook.data or remove the .previous extension from the file name so it is AddressBook.data only.
Cross your fingers and launch the Address Book application. If the Address Book data is not restored, and your Father does not have a backup of his Address Book data, the data is lost.

Synchronize iphone to outlook contacts and calendar

I have a new iPhone and the contacts were transferred from my old cell. I cannot get the outlook calendar nor the outlook contacts onto my iphone. I can't even get to iPhone information to play around with it as itunes doesn't show my iphone except when it is synchronizing and then it is gone as a device. How can I get itunes to let me look at the information to be synchronized and mostly, How can I get it to actually synchronize the icloud or even my desktop with the iphone. Now it is not synchronizing either the icloud or the desktop with the iphone. thanks for the help.

Problems with synching calendars between iPhone and Outlook 2007 on Windows

I recently purchased a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64. It was an English version, but since it is ultimate I downloaded and changed it to Danish - so far so good...
I have synch'ed between outlook and iPhone on a Vista platform without problems, but now on windows 7 when I sync - the result is, that on my iPhone the meetings, work schedules and birthdays I have in my calendar is shown a day too soon!!
I have checked that both iPhone and Outlook start the week on Mondays, so that is not an issue - I have updated my iPhone to the newest software with out any luck - so now I try and write here instead - hopefully someone can help me...

yes they were set to the same timezone - which puzzled me a lot...
I lost a lot of sleep, but I can now say that I have solved the problem...
What I did was, that I un-installed microsoft office (desperate I know!) - then ran a sync with the iPhone choosing to overwrite the Calendar in the phone - as there was no calendar present - it deleted what was on the phone. Then I re-installed Microsoft office, by doing that, I didn't loose anything because the user files was still present including mail setting etc. - resynced the iPhone - and now it works...
Just can't figure out what went wrong in the first place...

Can't transfer contcats from iPhone to Outlook contacts

Can someone help me please...
I am trying to sync contacts between a subfolder in Outlook Contacts and my iPhone 3GS.
The subfolder in Outlook contains 1 contact.
I am able to select this subfolder in iTunes and start the sync, however, I want to upload ALL my iphone contacts to my outlook subfolder, and download the 1 contact from the Outlook subfolder to my iPhone so that I have identical contact lists in both iPhone and Outlook.
This seems impossible, as the sync just seems to replace my iPhone contacts with my 1 Outlook contact, and does not sync in both directions.
This is driving me completely nuts. An operation that should be so simple is seemingly unnecessarily complicated.
Can someone confirm A. whether or not this action is even possible. and B. if it is possible, can you tell me how to do it?

They never do.
If you are on Windows and actually have photos in the camera roll, you should find your iphone in the Explorer, only being able to copy and delete photos from this folder (you can't access anything on the phone except the Camera Roll).
On a mac, open iPhoto and your iPhone should be found as a device in there.
iTunes cannot copy photos from the iPhone to the computer...

I have now changed from a Blackberry Q10 to an iPhone 5s and all my contacts have synced across via outlook exchange. But they have not synced into their relevant/groups and none of the contact photos have synced across either.
Apple Care now tell me that this will not happen with the iPhone due to the way that this information is stored on the phone.

When I merged my iPhone and iPad contact info., I lost all of the names that my messages were posted under. All conversations are now posted under phone numbers.

When setting up some iCloud info., agreed to merge iPhone and iPad contact info., and now most of my iPhone messages are listed by phone numbers, rather than by the person's name. Some of the names eventually showed up, but not many, and most of those now have the husband and wife's name together or just the family name (Millers, Smiths, etc.).

I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone.

Calendar times do not match between iphone and outlook

I have an iPhone 4S, at work I use a PC and Outlook. I have both my PC and my iPhone on the same time zone. If I set an appointment in either calendar the time gets switched in the other. For example: I set an appointment in my iphone calendar for 11am. One my outlook calendar it shows the same appointment at 10am. Both systems are set to the same time zone, what gives? How do I fix this?
Another thing I should add is I am in Saskatchewan Canada. We do not switch time for daylight savings in March an November. So when the time switched in November everthing works great, it is only between March and November whe this problem arrises. Saskatchewan is a setting in timezones for bothe the iphone and outlook so I don't think this should matter. Unless one of the companies does not know Saskatchewan does not change times.

Apple puts Saskatchewan into Central Standard Time, which isn't correct. Then when it syncs to Outlook, Outlook puts the appointment into the CST time zone, instead of the Saskatchewan -6 time zone. The problem is Apple's iCloud sending the wrong information to Outlook.
Need a fix for this please.

Receiving mail on both iphone and outlook

Setting up my mail accounts on iphone3 and when mail is being received on my iphone it does not appear in my outlook aswell and vice versa, how do I receive same mail on both iphone and outlook?

Set it up as IMAP or configure it so that, while using POP, it retains a copy of the message on the server so that it can be downloaded again on multiple clients.
