Iphone and quicktime pro
Will purchasing quicktime pro allow me to transfer my quicktime videos onto my iphone? currently i get an error message on my iphone saying that it does not support the current video files.My question is simply will i be able to transfer my videos to my iphone?
Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos.

Regarding FCE, there is no way to download & install the product. You need an original FCE install disk and your FCE serial number.

time capsule only allows 2 devices at a time as a router. If I am using the iphone and macbook pro, it bumps the roku offline. Any suggestions?
At a guess you have cable internet connection.. please confirm exactly what you have.. two public IPs are allowed by some ISP.. once you use up the two IPs, there are no more..
Make sure the TC is in router mode. And to get it working you probably need to shut off the cable modem.. if it has battery backup remove the battery.. try 5min off .. if not long enough try 20min off. then overnight. The ISP equipment must reset to allow a new MAC address to capture the IP.
If you cannot work it out.. plug in the old router again.. and set the TC to bridge mode.. which I suspect it is in now.. and plug it into the main router.. it should work fine like that. -

What setting will make sync make my iPhone and MacBook Pro contact cards alike? I've been having to key in changes to both devices because sync doesn't sync.
If you really are running Mac OS X 10.7.5 and iOS 6.1.3, you should be able to sync through iTunes, but in current releases you need to use a central contact service like iCloud.
Did you have it working and then not working, or have you never had it working?
Are you trying to use iTunes, iCloud, or something else? -
Can't synchronise mails of iphone and macbook pro
I receive my mails on my iphone and Macbook pro. If I download the mails on my iphone first and I open them, they will not be downloaded on my macbook pro. If I download them on my iphone but I don’t open them they will downloaded on my ibook pro. What do I have to change on my settings in order to have the syncronized?
ThanksThat's normal behavior for a POP3 email account. If your email provider supports IMAP, set the account up as an IMAP account on both the Mac and the iPhone. IMAP supports synchronization between clients and the server. POP3 does not.

I have a Quicktime video posted on my website. It plays perfectly in Safari but won't reload in Firefox unless I clear the cache. I have Firefox 4.0.1, Quicktime plugin 7.6.6 and Quicktime Pro 10.0..
Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
I connected to home share on my ipad iphone and macbook pro now it's asking me to turn on home share on the apple tv but I have no other remote, any ideas?

If home sharing isn't enabled on the Apple TV, you will need the aluminium remote that came with it to do so. -
I have my ipad, iphone, and macbook pro all synced together, which generally works fine. I receive all emails from senders in my address book in my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but some end up in Trash on my iPad, with the message, "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program. text/plain" They appear to be mainly from competing platforms, android, etc. Is there a workaround for this problem?

Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

IPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account
Brand new to the MacBook Pro world. First Apple laptop (or Apple computer at all for that matter) so of course I have some questions. I think I am correct in saying that basically each Apple device has to be separate and apart from another even if they reside in the same household. Meaning that each one has to be logged on to a separate and unique Apple account and email address for things like Facetime and iMessage to work properly. So, with that said......If I personally own the iPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account how can I make them both work separately and independent of each other??? The problem I've noticed is that Facetime and iMessage do not work and conflict with each of the two devices.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Mac World. Actually, you can use an Apple ID, together with iCloud to make your devices work together. Both devices can be connected to the same Apple ID, and use Facetime, Messages, and email together.
As long as both of your devices are updated to the latest OS, OS X 10.9 Mavericks for your MacBook and iOS 7.0.4 for your iPhone, you can:
On Mac:
1. Open System Preferences-iCloud
2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
3. Use your Apple ID to log in.
4. Make sure to enable your Messages, Facetime, and email accounts.
5. There is no Step 5.
On iPhone:
1. Open Settings-iCloud.
2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
3. Use your Apple ID to log in.

New to MAC - trying to sync iphone and Mac Pro with imac
Hi,
Just made the switch to Mac. Purchased my Mac Pro yesterday, loaded .Mac, and plugged in my iPhone to the computer. Followed the steps to Sync iCal and contacts from iPhone and although it is registering there is a phone and downloading photos, it is not syncing anything else.
The steps I took were System Preferences, .mac, and checked the relevant boxes. It indicates syncing is taking place but the calendar on iPhone and Mac Pro are not syncing.
Could anyone help with advice? SHould I be able to sync easily between the iPhone and the Mac Pro with .mac?You use iTunes to sync an iPhone - not *.Mac Sync* or iSync.
*.Mac Sync* is for syncing between Macs, and iSync is for syncing third-party mobile phones and PDAs.

Iphone 4 retina and Quicktime "pro" 7 not compatable? *** !
I am disgusted that apple would sell quicktime pro (7) and advertise that it works for the iphone when the iphone 4 has been out for a year now and QT7 does NOT support the retina display resolution (920 x 640). Only the much older lower resolutions are supported for the iphone 4. Also the h264 compressor apple uses is just terrible. Heck even Videora has a far better H264 compressor and its free !

In all honesty, Convert your mov files with Videora for free and they will look 10 x better than any quicktime "pro" version, do not ever purchase quicktime pro as it is a complete waste of your money and amounts to nothing more that a THEFT of your monies ! When you find out why qt pro 7 does NOT support exporting ( using the supplied iphone or h264 settings) the iPhone 4 retina resolution then please respond with the correct reason.
You are obviously using the built-in preset options and not custom settings. You are forgetting that Apple's primary purpose when creating pre-sets is to ensure compatibility. These options are programmed for multi-generation devices and, only support, the quality/settings that are compatible with the least capable device. As such, the TV preset is limited to 960x540 display resolution at 30/29.97 fps and a maximum video data rate of 5.0 Mbps. In a similar manner, the iPhone pre-set is limited to 1620 macroblocks/frame (usually a 720x480 or 720x576 max matrix) and 1.0 Mbps video data to maintain compatibility with all previous iPhone models. If you want to make the most of your device's particular capabilities, then either use custom settings or chose a different device pre-set whose output more closely matches what you want to use on your device if you want to use QT 7 Pro to perform your conversions. If you want to use a different converter, than, by all means, feel free to do so. However, since the source of your problem is in your work flow and not the product, I was merely attempting to point out the fact that your previous comments were unjustified.
As far as editing softwares and hardwares go I have everything from autodesk flame/ inferno down to pro and everything in between. Again please respond to my simple question only, why does qt7 not support the latest iPhone 4 higher retina display resolution? As opposed to older lower resolutions.
Let's hope you fully know how to take advantage of all of these hardware/software devices/applications. If you really feel Apple should support each device and generation of device with a separate entity pre-set as created and sold since being released, then contact Apple HERE and register your total dissatisfaction regarding each and every product not to your liking. You, of course, are entitled to your own opinions. Please extend the same courtesy to others.
Qt7 still ***** and is a total waste of money as people can do everything it does better and for free. Screw apple!
I might agree in some instances. For transcoding, I tend to prefer the X.264 codec with custom settings for more extensive analysis, better vector motion detection/rendering, removal of duplicated frames when applying detelecine, and a limited combined deinterlace/decomb filtering option. However, try aging, masking, layering, blending, picture-in-picture/picture-with-picture, and similar compositing options in a "free" utility. -
Can I take my home DVD's and add to itunes via windows and Quicktime pro?
I use my iphone for watching video (train commuter) and have been playing with different software to add my movies/TV dvd's to itunes. I can't find one I really like and I thought I read that I could do this via Quicktime pro, but I also thought that this feature is only avail on the Mac OS version. Can anyone confirm that it will or will not work for me? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

QuickTime Movie Files Won't Convert For iPod using iTunes and QuickTime Pro
I've got a ton, and I mean a ton of QuickTime movie files of music videos that I want to convert to use on the iPod. I tried using "Convert Selection For iPod" in the Advanced Menu on iTunes, but got the following message trying convert a QuickTime file of U2's Beautiful Day:
""Beautiful Day" could not be converted because this file does not allow for saving or conversion."
I purchased QuickTime Pro hoping that the features on Pro would convert the file. When I opened the same file to convert using QuickTime Pro, "Export" under the file menu was grayed out so I couldn't select it.
You'd think that an APPLE QuickTime Movie file that can be played on APPLE'S iTunes and APPLE'S QuickTime Player would be able to be converted to be used in APPLE'S iPod player. (Anybody notice how APPLE is capitalized to point out that the the hardware, software and file formats are ALL Apple?)
Instead I wasted money buying QuickTime Pro when it won't do what I specifically bought it for. Now I have all these QuickTime files which won't play on the iPod.
Can anybody provide some help or assistance on how to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish???If the file doesn't allow saving or conversions then it is protected by DRM (Fairplay).
Nothing can help QuickTime Pro convert protected files.
