IPhone and TomTom One GPS

I have an iPhone and a TomTom One.
The TomTom One is bluetooth capable and has a preference feature to connect to a bluetooth phone.
I turn on bluetooth on my phone and tell the TomTom to connect to the phone. The TomTom sees the iPhone and asks if I want to connect. After a few seconds it gives me a message that says, "The required features could not be found for this phone".
Has anyone gotten their iPhone to work with a TomTom One? What can you do once they're connected? I would assume you'd want to take contact info from the iPhone and transfer it to the gps.
I like my TomTom. It's a tool that does what it's supposed to do, but whenever I use it I can't help think of how much better it would be if Apple designed it.

I tried pairing my TomTom GO 720 with the iPhone - no go. Then I read the messages above, so I disabled wireless data on the TomTom - and tried again. TomTom saw my iPhone, went 40% into checking its features, and stopped there. At the same time, I did same thing on the iPhone - and it paired OK. So I re-enabled wireless data on TomTom, and tried again. This time - it paired! Then I got a message from TomTom saying my iPhone does not support wireless data transfer. Fine, I though - but then TomTom asked me if I wanted it to copy my contacts. And... it did that, too. So I am totally and completely baffled now - but paired with my TomTom, too. And it works just fine (as a hands free device, that is, but that's all I'm after at this stage).
(I only wonder what will happen it the car, cause as of now it sees my phone as 192.168.0.109 - but hopefully it'll see some Apple provided, default IP number instead.)

We have two iphones and only one ipad - no mac.  We want to be able to use "find my iphone" for both phones.  How do we get the ipad to accept two iphone accounts?  icloud is enabled on all three devices.

Also, be aware of the following:
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  Something as small as an iPod/iPhone should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • 6300 and TomTom One

I have just acquired the 6300 and wish to use it with my TomTom One. I can pair the two devices and have the TomTom One set up for auto-connect, but I get no audio from it. It is not shown as an active device on the phone - should it be?
Advice please - seems I'm missing something somewhere along the line.

  • HT201371 More Apple id's with the same Touch ID possible? I have two Apple ID's, one for buying apps since the first iPhone and later, one for iCloud. Now with my new iPhone 5s, after installation Touch ID is connected to the iCloud one.

I have 2 Apple ID"s, one for buying app's (since the first iPhone) in the store and another one for operating with iCloud things. Now, after installation/activation of my new iPhone 5s, the Touch ID is connected to the iCloud world. Conclusion, if I like to buy a new app. I still have to fill in the password for the other Apple ID. In the past I asked Apple to may join both, but that seems to be impossible.
    Anyone a solution?

I am logged into the same things on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, except for mail. I use a gmail IMAP account and everything there already works on both machines. The iCloud account on my iPhone uses one Apple ID and the one on the Mac uses the second Apple ID.

  • E63 and TomTom Wireless GPS MkII receiver connecti...

Every time I am associating TomTom Wireless GPS MkII receiver with my E63, the Bluetooth connection drops withing just a few seconds and it doesn't reconnect again (it has to be paired again). That same GPS receiver works just fine with my laptop though. Is there any way to make it work with E63? There are no options on the receiver, just a power button. Does it need a "driver" of some sort? The E63 has the latest firmware available through Nokia Software Update tool.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I solved my problem. It is not enough to pair TomTom Wireless GPS with E63. A Positioning option must be set to use Bluetooth GPS: Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General -> Positioning -> Positioning Methods -> Bluetooth GPS. Once that option is checked, both Ovi Maps and Google Maps connect to my GPS receiver.

  • IPhone and Tomtom

I have recently upgraded to the iPhone 4s and now find that does not appear to be compatible with my car tomtom cradle. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution please?

I was having the same problem. There was a discussion on this on another thread and one post suggested putting a small piece of velcro on the small bar towards the bottom of the cradle (the one the sits behind the phone and which was needed when the 4 came out).
I tried it ....... and it seems to work!

  • How can I manage several ID on my computer, one for my iPhone and another one for the iPad of the family?

    Hi everybody
Just have bought an ipad2 and i would like to manage several IDs on my computer (i.e keep my iPhone ID and create another one for the ipad to manage apps for my iPhone (4) and the apps for the iPad).
How can I resetup the iPad to create that new ID on itunes?
    Thanks for your help
    Jp

If you have separate iTunes accounts for the two devices then you'll need to buy 2 copies of any app that you want on both device - you can't copy or move apps from one account to another (they are tied to the account that bought/downloaded them). If you want to reset the iPad then logout of the account on it (Settings > Store and tap the id on the right-hand side) and then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings will reset it back to factory defaults.
You may want to consider one of three options mentioned on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495

  • APPLE LOST MY IPHONE AND NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE IN APPLE CARE!!!!!!!! wow

    i'm reallllllllly ****** right now,
i called apple care service by phone (waited 45 minutes to talk to someone in french) to explain that my new iphone 4 had a bad battery. The apple guy aggreed and sent me a box for me to send my iphone back at them for repair. The guy didnt chek my address and sent a box to my old address and a box to my new adress (after correction). In 1 day the box arrived at me and I was really happy with the fast response.
    now begins my nightmare.
The box was supposed to have the return slip taped to it, but it didnt.
so i called back apple care (1h07 min wait time to speak to someone in french) and explained the problem to them. they sent me a return slip by email wich I had to go to the local store to get printed out since I dont have a printer.
I then taped the return slip to the box and called UPS for pickup.
UPS came and picked-up the box the nex day,
    but then,
    apple sent me 3 email.
2 of them was cancellation for repair on the 2 first box that they sent me, and the last one was a new repair ID.
the thing is now, that one of the 2 repair ID they cancelled belongs to the exact number on the box I sent them yesterday.
so now my Iphone 4 is at the apple place in ontario in a box with a cancelled repair order.
I tried calling apple care support (1h27 min wait ) but no one answered me.
    now i'm realllllly ******,
I'm really thinking getting a refund and buyin any other phone when I finaly talk to someone and get my phone back.
I have alway being a loyal fan (getting an Ipod touche 1st gen costing me 399$ for a 16gig...) and now a broken (and lost) Iphone 4.
    anybody got and idea????
p.s. sorry about my awful english, im from quebec and speak french...

Sorry that you're having a bad time but we're just users like you. You're going to have sort things out with Apple. You might have better luck if you have an English speaking friend help you with the call.

  • IPhone and Garmin Nuvi GPS

Besides my Motorolla headset, I managed to pair my iPhone to my Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS with no problems. This particular Nuvi model as well as some other Garmin models have Bluetooth built in. The benefits of this device is that besides the wonderful Nuvi GPS features, the device is also a car kit with speaker and microphone. What I found quite remarkable was that during the pairing, the entire phonebook I have on my iPhone came over as well. So, when someone on that list calls, their name comes up on the touch screen. Or if you want to call someone, either click through or search the directory on the Garmin. Very cool.
    Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

iPhone works with my Garmin Nuvi 360 via bluetooth, downloaded address book and all, but after a day or two the connection stops working (iPhone says they’re paired, but Nuvi doesn’t show phone icon) and I have to manually set up the connection again. Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks.

  • I want to know what i tunes can and cannot do e.g if i lose my iphone and some one does a factory restore would i still be able to track the iphone?

i just got a new i phone and i cloud came up and i wanted to know weather i can still find my iphone if i do lose it when someone has done a factory restore on it ? and what would stop me from finding it

iTunes can't prevent it from being restored. A feature of iCloud is Find my iPhone, which must be enabled under Settings > iCloud, and will let you remotely track it, as well as send a message, play a sound, lock with a passcode, or wipe it remotely; either at http://icloud.com or on another iDevice's Find my iPhone app (free on the App Store).
Find my iPhone can be disabled by thieves if they:
Remove the SIM card from the phone
    Turn it off
    Restore it
    Disable Location Services
    Put it in Airplane Mode
    Turn of Find my iPhone
You can stop some of these options by going to Settings > General > Restrictions and set a passcode just for restrictions. Then under "Allow changes to..." turn Location and Accounts OFF. If you ever need to make changes you would need to enter the passcode and disable restrictions.

  • I have a new i phone and pay for gps---it will show directions but does not use a voice - how do i get it to use the voice?

Just got an iphone and pay for gps---how do i get the voice to work--it shows the directions but doesn't say it.

If you did not buy one that specifically states it does voice directions-there is nothing you can do.
Check the app settings, check the app website.

  • Different Music Videos Playlist Between iPhone and iPod

Ok i have this problem since i have my iphone and no one answer me, maybe there's no answer so i ask again.
I have a more than 500 music videos in my library, i don't have a problem when i sync my ipod because i have an 80GB for all these videos, the problem comes when i want sync my iphone i have to check and uncheck the videos i don't want sync with my iphone because of course i don't have space in the iphone, so anyone knows if have any option for make 2 different musicvideo playlist and sync one with the iphoe and the other with the ipod.

I have been having this exact same problem. It went away for a month or two after upgrading my iTunes to the latest version, but reared its head again last week. I've tried all of the solutions listed on the support article listed here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3044 The only thing that seems to work for me is when I disable the "live updating" tab. What a pain.

  • Two calendars on iPhone but only one in Outlook

    Hi,
I used to have a single calendar both on my iPhone 3G (3.0) and Outlook 2003 until I had to restore my Windows Operating system with an image I created a year ago.
Now I have two calendars both named "Calendar" on my iPhone and unly one "Calendar" on Outlook.
I have followed every instruction I found on web but couldn't get rid of the extra calendar in my phone.
    Any idea ?

I have managed to get rid of the second/duplicate "Calendar" calendar with the help at http://getsatisfaction.com/apple/topics/howcan_i_delete_an_iphonecalendar
Now Outlook has a single calendar, I see only a single default calendar on my iPhone and I need to get rid of the second/duplicate (so called) Calendar which appears only when I connect my iPhone to iTunes. No matter what I did and how I synched, this title does not disappear.
