IPHONE APPLECARE IN CANADA

I'm wodering if anyone, hopefully from apple, can explain why I cannot purchase an extended applecare program for my 4S.
I bought my 4S November 2011, so I am still within my 1 year warranty.
When I bought the 4S, the applecare+ program was not available, in fact it seems it has only just been made available in canada recently. And as per the terms of applecare+, you must purchase it within 30 days of the phone purchase. That was not a concern to me, because at the time, the regular applecare was available which could be purchased within the first year of ownership.
Now I am approaching the 1 year anniversary of my purchase and I went to buy the applecare for it only to fine that it has now been replaced with the applecare+ which is of course unavailable to me now because its beyond 30 days.
My wife is in the same position.
Between myself and my wife, we have had several iphones before, and they have ALL needed service in the second year of ownership, so not being able to purchase the applecare now is very frustrating.
Someone please let me know what to do!!
Thanks!

"Regular" Apple care has never been available for the 4S. Only AppleCare+ This hasn't changed since the day the 4S was released. If somone told you otherwise, they were mistaken.
There is nothing you can do. The current out of warranty replacement cost for a 4S is $199. This may very well drop once the 5 is out in the wild. We won't know for sure until it happens. If you're certain you're going to need your phone(s) serviced before the end of the second year, save your money for the OOW replacement fee.

I have an iphone 4 from canada.. can i use it here in qatar? or is there any available software that i can open it in qatar?

Your iPhone is carrier locked with a carrier in Canada and if so, your iPhone is activated with which carrier in Canada?
With AT&T in the U.S., international roaming must be activated for your line/number with AT&T before you are able to roam internationally with AT&T.
If your iPhone is carrier locked with a carrier in Canada, have you contacted the carrier in Canada to confirm if international roaming is enabled for your line/number with the carrier in Canada?

Can i use my iPhone 4 in Canada? I bought it in Germany .

If officially unlocked, yes. You can use any GSM sim you want. If not officially unlocked, you'll have to get an International plan from your carrier...very expensive.

You're phone is locked to a carrier. You will need to contact the carrier you got you're phone from to have them unlock it.

  • Factory Unlocked iPhone 4 from Canada not working overseas

Hi all, I'm looking for help.
I purchased a Factory unlocked iPhone 4 in Canada for the purpose of selling it on eBay (to help offset the cost of my own iPhone 4 purchase). It was purchased from an Apple Store in Toronto.
The buyer is in Ireland, he got the phone, put in his 02 micro-sim and gets the following message: "The SIM Card inserted in this phone does not appear to be supported." He has 2 micro-sim cards and both did not work.
Has anyone encountered anything like this? Are there limitations to how unlocked these phones truly are? Any advice or thoughts on a solution?
Any help would be appreciated, I've called the Apple support many times, and they tend to not be very aware of how their own factory unlocked phones work.

This is how I Think it works in canada for the iPhone 4 Factory Unlocked this info is from the apple web site about the I phone 4 is Factory Unlocked only from the Apple web store online only I think.
this is the info that I copied from the Apple web store site I hope this helps you.
Here is a link to the info on the Apple Store Canada web Site

    Buy your iPhone from
Apple commitment-free.
It works with the carrier of your choice.
_*Buy your iPhone from the Apple Online Store*_
_*and choose your own GSM carrier.*_ *_You can change carriers at any time._*
    It’s easy to set up.
Get a compatible SIM (iPhone 3GS) or micro-SIM card (iPhone 4) and select a plan from the carrier of your choice. Then insert the card and set up your iPhone using iTunes on your Mac or PC. With a few clicks, you can start making calls.
    It works internationally.
Because this iPhone is commitment-free, you can purchase a micro-SIM or SIM card and service from a local carrier at your destination. Or check with your home carrier regarding international roaming charges.

  • IPhone Availability in Canada -- When?

Is there any possibility of the iPhone FINALLY coming to Canada? I'm rather disappointed in Apple for not having brought it to Canada yet. Apple is usually so good about this, what's the hold up here?

It depends upon what you mean by the phrase, "Apple hasn't tried to strike deals with any dealer in Canada".
On January 16, 2007 (just after the Apple Inc. iPhone announcement) a Rogers Wireless Customer Service Representative returned email to my inquiry of, "When will Rogers be selling the iPhone?" The email was quite clear on the Rogers position:
On Tuesday, January 9, 2007, Apple announced the unveiling of their new
    iPhone, a combination mobile phone/digital music player/camera
    Availability
    - The iPhone will first be introduced in North America
    - Cingular is the only wireless carrier to launch the iPhone in the
    United States
    - Rogers is actively working with Apple to launch the iPhone in Canada
as soon as possible and will be the exclusive provider of the iPhone in Canada
    - Apple is planning to introduce the iPhone in Europe (Q4 2007) and Asia
    (2008)
    - Please be advised that Rogers will be offering the iPhone exclusively
in Canada. Unfortunately, the launch date and pricing for Canada are not
    yet available
    - Other Canadian wireless carriers will not launch the iPhone, Rogers
will be the only Canadian wireless carrier to offer the iPhone
Obviously, Rogers was pretty convinced that Apple was talking with them. Just as obviously, the dealing fell through.
Who's fault is it? Do we really need to blame someone?
If we really need to blame someone, given the success of the iPhone, I would tend towards Rogers being the ones who "left the table".
Well, OK. It was probably Apple that walked away, technically, since Apple seems to have been the ones making the physical trip for negotiations. Apple went to a Rogers-owned table in a Rogers-owned building. Rogers said something to the effect of, "We don't like your deal, Apple, because you're asking us to lower our data rates from $5/KB to a flat fee. We're the only GSM player in Canada. Wha'cha gonna do now, Apple?" Apple left Rogers table since Rogers was unwilling to budge from that position and that's a horrible way to market the iPhone.
