  • My iPhone battery discharged.  Won't recharge.

It appears my iPhone battery discharged.  I plug it in to recharge it, and nothing happens.  In the past it would start slowly and then go to full recharge.  Any hints.

new cable, try different wall port, then possible make sure no dust is in the charging port

  • Iphone battery discharging quickly

My iPhone battery is discharging very quickly even when phone/ instrument is switched off. could some apps be running in the background on wifi? What do I need to do to prevent this?

I have had Iphones sinc the first one and now have a 4s and over the last few days mine has started discharging very quickly also.  I charged it at work yesterday and left work at 6pm and it was at 100% at 8pm it was already down to 70%.  There is something that has changed on mine and I can't figure it out. I have turned off Push and Location services so I'll see how it does today.  I have not synced it for at least a week so I know there wasn't an update that caused it   Mine is also running on 5.1.
I unpluged it this morning at 100% at 8am and it is now 11am and I am at 95% with all the above stuff turned off and it just sitting on my desk in sleep mode.

  • IPhone battery discharges even when turned off since iOS 5.1.1

Since updating to iOS 5.1.1 I have had battery problems, discharging at around 4% per hour even when not used. Turning off every concieveable service and reloaded iOS as a new device unfortunately has not solved the problem. I have resorted to leaving the phone plugged in all of the time and recently started to turn it off overnight. To my surprise, the phone continues to discharge when turned off! I couldn't find this problem when I searched (apologies if I didn't search hard enougth!)

I have been waiting for months for the next iOS to see if it would rectify my battery drain problem but I continued to have the battery discharge problem after installing iOS6 .
My Home button has been playing up with random no responses and random double clicks, so I replaced the home button hoping that may also address the battery drain issue - no joy.
Then I had a look to see if I had added any Apps when the problem first appeared at the time of upgrading to iOS5.1.1. (You can view Apps by date in iTunes on the iPhone Apps tab.)
It turns out that on about the same day as the iOS 5.1.1 update I also added the Lifesize ClearSea video conferencing App. Today I disabled the App in iTunes (unchecked it) and resynced the iPhone. I believe this removes the App from the phone whilst leaving it in my iTunes so I can add it back easily. For the first time in months my phone is now cold rather than luke warm.
Superficially at least it seems that ClearSea has been running in the background, even when manually quitted and even when the iPhone was powered OFF! I will report back in a few days to confirm this was the culprit.
Five months with a phone that barely lasts a day has been a real pain...

  • Why my iphone battery discharges so quickly

I have two iphones 4 and 4s, battery in iphone 4 lasts much much longer than the  4s what can I do to solve the problem? or is it faulty? my first one was faulty and apple gave me a new one.

After searching at website. It works for me about battery issue.
    1. Go to Settiings / General / Siri / turn off Raise to speak and then reboot.
(A sensor upper the earphone is continuing on even if you turn it off, YOU MUST REBOOT YOUR IPHONE.)
I think that it is the major problem about battery drain.
    2. Go to Settings / Location Services / System Services / Turn off Setting Time Zone
    3. Go to Settings / Notifications / Turn off Calendar or move to Not in Notification Center
(this may be not need but I don't use this function, so I turn it off.)
After a fully charge, Usage 1 hour and Standby 3 Hours, 14 Minutes, Battery less 8% only. Now is 92%
My idea, try to reset all settings first, I like a clean reset all settings and then do 1,2,3.

  • My iphone 4s automatically getting turned off (blank black screen) and not getting started until full battery discharge, after updating to ios 8.0.1

My iphone 4s automatically getting turned off (blank black screen) and not getting started until full battery discharge. Even on long pressing power button - screen doesn't showing anything - not even "needs charging logo".
This is happening only since I have updated to new ios version (ios 8.1).
Is there anyone facing similar issue?? Any suggestion?!?

  • I have just updated my 4s to IOS7. and now my battery discharge is significantly increase. With my Iphone fully charged, the battery run out within 6 hours without using the phone at all. Would it be possible to get the IOS 6.1.3 back to my 4S?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks

  • HT4623 Iphone 5 battery discharging too quicklu

Iphone 5 battery discharging too quickly, even with wifi, bluetooth and location services off. The battery is only lasting about 6 hours.  How can i check what is causing this.  It was lasting about 24 hours before.

Just shared. Turn your brightness To as you can see The page. Turn of icloud if not use it If you just buy this phone. Let the battery totally drain couple of time and fully charge again. It will became great after that.my phone take 2 days to totally drain.awsome. If your location to far away from network transmitter it will became little bit hot at the battery.if you very near to wifi you will feel  your iphone5 it surf like a ferrari + no heat at all.     P/n; dont look at pecentage of your battery. Just take note how many hour until its totally drain.

  • Sound ID 510 or the EarPrint App. rapidly discharges my iPhone battery???

It is hard to pinpoint the cause for certain (if there are any tools/apps that would help I'd love to hear about them???) but it seems like my new Sound ID 510 bluetooth headset and/or the EarPrint app. that goes with it are responsible for an occasional speedy discharge of my iPhone battery.
By speedy I mean the case gets warm to touch and the battery will be completely discharged within 30 minutes or less if I don't catch it happening and cycle the power to the iPhone. Is anybody else seeing this problem?
I am still running iOS 3.1.3 as I have read of various sync. issues with iOS 4.x
I did install the "beta" firmware V4.0.5 in the Sound ID 510 that supports A2DP music streaming which is a very nice feature ... but mmmmmmmmmmmmm
    Any comments appreciated.

    Any comments appreciated.
No problem with battery use at all running iOS 4.x on an iP4.
I am still running iOS 3.1.3 as I have read of various sync. issues with iOS 4.x
There are no "sync issues" with 4.x. Don't take as gospel what you read here. There are always problems reported here after upgrades, almost all due to problems with the specific phone, system or user error, invariably assumed by the poster to be a "bug".

  • To find the lost iPhone with discharged battery?

I lost my iphone! The app "find your iphone" localized my iphone but just for one time because after the first location the iphone battery was discharged.
So I can't find my iphone anymore, but is there another way to find out the smartphone (maybe with serial number) ?

If the battery is dead or the phone is off how would using the serial number of the phone help your find it?

  • IPhone 4S battery discharging Way Too FAST

    Hello,
to my utter disappointment the battery life or better the life of a charge of the iPhoone 4S battery is deplorably short. I have read all the negative comments and I had been forewarned by the salesperson that the this might happen (he works part time for the phone company that sold me the phone and part time freelances setting up iPhones for corporate use. And in his experience battery life varies greatly depending on if the battery was treated correctly at the factory, what version battery it was etc. And in his opinion the quality of the components Apple builds into it's hardware (harddrives, batteries etc.) are not cutting edge at all – as one might expect taken all the hubbub Apple creates around it's products – but cheap run-of-the-mill stuff.)
So, I feel a lot like Apple does not live up to it's self-created reputation and standards of delivering top-notch hard- and software – for a hefty price, that is.
I have disabled as many of the location-based services as possible, only activating them as needed. I have turned off any and all of the auto-update, selfcheck, -connect etc. features. I do not receive emails, I do not Twitter, Facebook or whatever Social Media stuff to save energy. Still, the battery discharges at a ridiculously fast pace. E.g. a reminder message (displaying on the startup screen as soon as I unlock the iPhone – unused all night): 25% of the energy level is being used up by that. A lot of the fancier apps using location based services or GPS apps are depleting the battery within an hour or even less (hiking, biking, jogging appps). So a lot of the much vaunted versatility of the iPhone falls short for me because I cannot use those apps without wasting too much energy.
As I said before, I am very disappointed!

We've been to the Verizon store on Mary Esther cutoff in Ft Walton Beach three times now. The first time they said to make sure no apps were running and eliminate those we didn't need. We did that. The second time we were met by a person who told us no one had that problem and it was Apple. The manager then came over and was very nice, suggesting we try to backup the phone to our laptop, reset the phone to factory, and restore. We've done that three times. We've also tried renaming our router access point twice.
We go today and tell the female rep that we still have the issue. She says no one at Verizon has ever heard of it and there's nothing they can do. I ask if we could get another phone since it was under warranty (April 10 was our anniversary) when we first brought it in, or replace it with the insurance we pay $8.18 per month for. She said no on the warranty, and sure for $169 deductible. She threw it back on Apple. Clearly not happy customers. If I didn't have a year left I'd be swapping providers today.

  • Battery discharging faster since ipad 3 upgrade why ?

since upgrading my ipad3 the battery discharges more quickly anyone else got this problem?

What did you upgrade? Should be the same. Have you checked your brightness setting?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • HT4623 if i let my iphone battery goes completly dead i have hard time getting it restarted

if i allow my iphone battery to to go dead i have a problem getting it restarted

Do that repeatedly and you soon will have a completely useless battery on your hands.
Solution - charge it up BEFORE it auto shuts off on you.
Repeatedly deep cycling a Lithium cell will ruin it much faster than charging it when only partially discharged.
