IPhone, Birthdays - A variation on a theme

I have scanned the forums and whilst the problem of "birthdays not appearing on the iPhone" has been touched on many times, I cannot see one that is quite the same as the one I appear to have.
I want my Address book birthdays to appear in my iPhone 3GS calendars.
They appear on the iCal in my Mac, they appear on MobileMe.
I have linked to the Birthday Calendar in iTunes and synced that calendar to my iPhone.
The Calendar appears on my iPhone
However, the only Birthday it contains is mine!
I had expected all or nothing, everyone's or no-one's, but for the life of me I cannot understand why it is only mine. Has this been encountered before and solved? Could anyone advise me where I should be looking for a fix for this?

I am having a similar and very frustrating problem here. I have migrated from a BB Bold on AT&T to a new iPhone 3GS 32GB. I do not use Outlook nor a Mac. I had all my BB data syncing with Google. I now have all my iPhone contacts and calendar info syncing with MobileMe and only MobileMe. None of the birthday or anniversary info associated with a contact will appear in the native iPhone calendar, although I can get the birthday data to show in the MobileMe calendar. I don't understand how Apple has overlooked such an important calendering function as birthday and anniversaries! Heck, my old Treo had no problem working with this information nor did my BB Bold. Is my only option going to be manually creating a recurring event for birthday and anniversary dates that I have associated with a contact? Is there no other work around for someone who only syncs with MobileMe and not Outlook or a Mac with iCal?

What I was trying to do though was to mass delete the voice memos from the phone, and I was told that one can do that via iTunes. Problem is that when I do open iTunes, I am not able to locate a TAB thats says ON THIS IPHONE
I was told that one could click on this and then select multiple Voice Memos and delete this way.

What your iPhone using friends label your phone number in their contacts is irrelevant. I don't know who you pay $9.99 a month to but it's not Apple. You can't disable text messaging on your iPad as it is not capable of SMS.
Do you still have the iPhone? If so, log out of iMessage on the iPhone.
Try this:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "Edit Products"
Click on the "X" to the right of the product.
Click "Unregister"
Also, try changing the password on your iTunes account.

You can transfer contents from your iPhone back to iTunes library:
First, *BEFORE you connect the iPhone, please go to the iTunes preferences and select "devices", then select "disable automatic syncing for iPad, iPhones and iPods"*.
Then, for those songs that you purchased on your iPhone: Transfer purchases from iPod to iTunes.
For all other non purchased contents (your photos etc), their are ton of third party programs, some is free: iDump, Floola. Some is shareware, but they does preserve playlist/ratings/playcounts/artworks etc: iCopyBot, CopyTrans

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

Thanks for the question. Do you still have access to the iPhone 3GS? If so, follow these steps:
iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

You could also follow these steps on your new iPhone 5, so long as the pictures are stored in your Camera Roll (as opposed to being synced to your phone).

Export Photos and Videos from Camera Roll to your computer.
Empty Camera Roll.
Make a Folder/Album with all photos and videos you want to have in your iPhone and sync them through iTunes.
This will free up space in your iPhone and your iCloud.
The backup of Camera Roll in iCloud is only to restore your iPhone. You can't access them directly.
