Iphone & Bluetooth Keyboard

Just bought a Bluetooth Keyboard and I was wondering if I could use it with my Iphone.
First I looked in previous discussions, where I read that Bluetooth Keyboard can´t be used with the Iphone. But they where wrong!
The Bluetooth Keyboard works fine.
I now use it for typing, so I can write my mails and reports easy when traveling without any laptop or Ipad.
By the way, it also controls screen brigthness and play and stop music, volume, scan, etc.
I write this because in forums no one says it can be done. Try it!
Still haven´t found a way to place a call with the keyboard (the Send Button function) of course just for fun.
Please post your comments.

I use 2 a bluetooth mac keyboard and a smaller noname bluetooth keyboad with my ipad and iphone never
read posts about them not working
but read tons of posts from people asking if bluetooth mice works which they dont

  • IPhone 3GS with OS4 upgrade - using Apple's Bluetooth Keyboard

    Help!
I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to OS 4. I also bought an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard.
It's awesome except for one thing. After I type a text message and go to send it, I push the "Send/Enter" button and it just goes to the next line, it won't actually send the message. I realize the keyboard came out way before OS 4, but surely there must be a button you can use to actually send the message without having to go back to the phone each time.
Does anyone know what button on the Bluetooth keyboard you use to "send" the text or do I have to just tap "send" on the actual phone?
    Thanks! [email protected]

I am coming across the same issue! help anyone?

  • Can I use bluetooth keyboard on iPhone 4?

I want to know if it's possible to connect the Bluetooth keyboard on my iPhone to use it on iWork and surfing on web.

Once the keyboard is connected, it should work with any app that uses the standard keyboard interface, so it will work with iWork.
br121: iWork was released for iPad quite some time ago, and updated for iPhone 4 recently.

  • Iphone bluetooth headset stops bluetooth keyboard from connecting

has anyone else had a problem using an iphone bluetooth headset in close proximity to an bluetooth keyboard? If i wake up or boot up my macbook pro when my headset is switched on and close by, the keyboard will not connect to the mac! any ideas anyone please?

    Hi.
I have found that having my WiFi on at the same time I try to pair with my Plantronics 925 prevents me from hooking up. If you have WiFi you may want to turn it off why you pair. Once paired you can then turn your WiFi back on with no problems.

  • Bluetooth keyboard and iPhone

Is it possible to use an Apple bluetooth keyboard with the iPhone? Would be a great way to type faster in the phone. Of course this would be when you are home, kinda hard to put that keyboard in your pocket.
    iPhone   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

My vote for this in a future update.
The iPhone is useful as it is, but when I try to use it out-and-about to admin a load of unix machines it gets very boring typing long and complex command lines in using the onscreen keyboard. The BT keyboard I already have which I used to use with an iPaq was excellent for this.
Onscreen KB - great example of the breed for "normal" use, but please give us the choice Apple!

  • Does Bluetooth on 3G iPhone support keyboards?

ok, so the new iPhone doesn't have a physical keyboard. Has the bluetooth stack at least been un-crippled so that it supports the lovely Apple Mini Wireless Keyboard?

mikkelbreum wasn't sure about the lack of bluetooth support in the iPhone for the Apple bluetooth keyboard, but I've been able to independently confirm that this is the case.
Apple, this is lame! I want to use a real keyboard with the iPhone! Since you don't support this, I will not buy an iPhone and instead am happily using a Nokia phone which DOES support the Apple keyboard.

  • Iphone with Bluetooth Keyboards

I have an Stowaway Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard that worked very well with my Treo 680. Now, I replaced the Treo (regretfully I sold it) for the Iphone, and I cannot make it work with the portable keyboard. I guess it is related with the lack of drivers for Iphone. Does somebody knows another portable keyboard that works with Iphone ? Thank you.

At the moment, no Bluetooth device aside from a headset will work with an iPhone.
Given Apple's stance on revolutionary technologies and natural interfaces, I doubt that's likely to change.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard with iPhone

Has Apple announced support for their Bluetooth keyboard for use with the iPhone yet? I have not been able to find any information about this.
If not, I will buy an iPhone as soon as they provide a Bluetooth keyboard option. A suggestion, and one that I think many others share.

I just got off the phone with a sales rep at Macally who had planned to launch a bluetooth keyboard for the iPhone...Release delayed until apple decides to allow bluetooth input.
    Dear Apple,
Releasing a bluetooth keyboard does not admit that the touchscreen keyboard doesn't work. It works great. It just reinforces the fact that iPhone is the future of mobile computing. It will only increase functionality and on-the-go efficiency.
With the enterprise release and a bluetooth keyboard...wow. Watch out corporate America. Everyone employee of every company will want one. Bye bye blackberry.
    Sincerely,

  • How do I get my "play" button to work on my bluetooth keyboard?

I am using a Mid 2010 21.5" iMac running Mountain Lion. I recently had my HDD replaced by Apple because of the recent 1TB Segate Drive recall and now I cannot use my pause/play, skip, and back buttons on my apple wireless keyboard. I can use them as function keys but nothing else. I can change the brightness and change the sound using the keyboard but I cannot skip or pause a song or video or anything like that except for using a mouse and clicking on the next button or using my iPhone as a remote which only goes so far. I have tried using multiple programs, iTune, DVD Player, VLC Player and all are not able to be controlled by the keyboard and yes I made sure this programs were on top. This also holds true for expose. I am sure this simply has to be a simple setting somewhere but I am not sure where it would be. The only like setting that I saw was looking for was changing it so I need to use the function button every time I want to use a function like the sound or expose. I tried with this both on and off but can't get it to recognize the play functions. I have updated my bluetooth keyboard firmware but no luck. I have also changed the batteries twice to verify this was not the issue.

  • How do I change the name of my bluetooth keyboard on my iPad?

I recently was awarded a grant to buy a class set of wireless bluetooth keyboards for my classroom (26). Since I teach at a middle school, the idea of all my students pairing at the same time gives me nightmares. I took the set home and attempted various techniques I've come across to change the name of the bluetooth keyboards (preferences/bluetooth/gear icon/change name) and it seems to work, but whenever I pair it with an iphone or ipad it still just comes up as "Bluetooth Keyboard." Naming these would really help. Thanks!

    Hello:
I looked as well, but cannot find a way to change the name (except on a Mac).  Apparently, Apple uss the generic name on devices that are really personal ones.

  • What are the best portable Bluetooth keyboards for 3rd G and 4G iPod Touch?

I have both a 32 Gb 3G iPod Touch and a new 8 Gb 4G iPod Touch which I am trying to determine the best choices of a portable (folding or otherwise) Bluetooth keyboard to facilitate faster typing than using that on the iPod.  I have reviewed similar excellent threads for recommendations for folding boards for the iPad, but these threads are two years old with last entries in 2010, so I am opening this thread in hopes that additonal product recommendations might be available.
My purpose is to select a good quality one that functions well for a touch typist (moderately skilled).  I am thinking that the Apple one is a bit bulky to carry around, but also I realize the folding models also have limitations for touch typists.  One I have been considering recently is the Verbatum  Wireless Bluetooth Mobile Folding Keyboard for various later model Apple products for iPhone, IPod, and IPad that is currently selling around $50.
I would appreciate any experience and recommendations that people that have use this product or others that they would reccomend.

  • IOS 8.2 And bluetooth keyboard troubles.

After the upgrade to iOS 8.2 my iPad air2 and iPhone 6 do not recognize the apple bluetooth keyboard anymore. Restart does not work. and when I try to connect a notification is made that the connection cannot be made.
Does anyone now how to fix this?

    Hello JHvL,
As I understand it your iPhone isn't able to connect to your bluetooth Apple keyboard after updating to iOS 8.2 even after a restart. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you resolve that issue, named:

  • IPad and iPhone Bluetooth issues

    Help!
I have an iPad2 and an iPhone4s and neither of them will discover the other.
In addition they won't discover any other Bluetooth items, although my iPhone will pair with my car Bluetooth for some reason and will find other car Bluetooth devicesIt's all very odd!
I have a Bluetooth keyboard but my iPad won't discover that either. I've tried turning off but make no difference.

    4. Once you do this, your keyboard will show up under Devices and say Not Paired. - See more at: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/5772/ipad-how-to-pair-connect-any-bluetooth-keybo ard/#sthash.FZlCTbkx.dpuf
    Hhi,
I have 2 Ipad 4th Gen tablets.. neither will discover anything. I turn on Bluetooth and it just searches forever, but never discovers anything. I can turn both tablets Bluetooth on and neither one even finds the other.
I tried turning off the airdrop thing, and still nothing.
Is there a config file or something? Im actually an experienced Windows/Linux developer, never used Apple products before now and am suprised there is really nothing that can be done to anything. I feel like Apple is treating us like untrusted kids lol
