Iphone bluetooth problem with car stereo

I bought a third party bluetooth adapter for my car stereo. Hooking it up with any other device ( other mp3 players, my husband's windows phone ) all work and stream music. Pairing it with my iphone 5 causes constant crackling and static like blown speakers. Same with the ipod touch. Is there a setting in the phone that will fix this?
Thanks

I had same issue on iPhone 4 using "ebay" type adapter but improved it
with  Blackberry bluetooth receiver
I however now have iPhone 5 wired in for perfect results

  • Blutooth Problem with car stereo and iPhone5

Got new iPhone 5 yesterday and paired it with car stereo for handsfree use. When I make a call I can use radio answer button and the speakers.  When I receive a call I can only use handset. iPhone 4 worked fine so I doubt it is the car. I deleted and repaired the phone yet still the same issue. Help?

        Hey nippers1!
It does sound like we have a conflict with your device and your car Bluetooth. Thanks for doing that great troubleshooting! I would like to ask, have you checked with your car manufacture to see if the phone was compatible with your car's Bluetooth? Sometimes different devices that have different Bluetooth profiles will work differently. Can other iPhone 5s connect at all? Can your iPhone 5 connect and use other Bluetooths fully? Also, are you having any problems with making and receiving calls in general? Also, is your device up to date? Please make sure it is on the most current software. Please report back!

  • IOS6 bluetooth connection with car stereo

With my iPhone 4S running iOS5, my after-market car stereo bluetooth was able to read my song name, artist name, ect. Now that I upgraded to iOS6 my Kenwood receiver cannot read this data while connected via bluetooth. Since the data can't be read, the steering wheel control to search/skip a song forward or back also no longer works. I tested the car stereo last night with an iOS5 phone and it worked correctly, so I know the problem is related to the bluetooth iOS6.

  • Ios7.0.1 bluetooth connectivty with car stereo not working properly?

I have updated my Iphone to Ios7.0.1  Before this update connection between my Iphone and car stereo was not an issue.
Now the only way to play music through this device is to use the iphone. Select track, volume, Etc the hands free buttons on the sterring wheel do not work. I think you will agree this is not acceptable, convenient , or safe to drive. However the phone call option is working perfectly as before. My vehicle is a 6 month old Jaguar XF I have contacted them and they have inspected my car and have assured me the problem is not with my car audio equipment.
I am a little reticent to do a factory reset on my iphone until all avenues of trouble shooting have been exhausted.
Can anyone help, advise, or even been experiencing the same problem/

I have a similar problem with my XF.  I upgraded to 7.0.2 and deleted all my paired devices in the car and on my phone.
I reapired the phone and all seemed fine - I could happily make/receive calls.  However the phone will NOT connect to the audio part of the XF and will not play any music or connect via Bluetooth to Audio.  I can see the phone and try and connect but I get the message that the Audio connection has failed.  The phone continues to work normally through the phone setup.
Previously you could effectively connect a device as a phone and a device as an audio device (or the same device to both phone and audio) but this is no longer possible with IOS7 it seems.  My wife and my son also have iphones upgraded to IOS7 and they cannot connect to audio either.
I have tried rebooted, resetting, deleting all settings etc, etc but I am having no luck.
ANy further help greatfully received.  My XF is a 63 plate and just over a month old.

  • Why won't ipad bluetooth pair with car stereo

"searching" goes on and on, text is gray

Here's another article that may pertain ...
It could be that your car stereo needs a firmware update.  See:

UPDATE:  Never mind -- not likely since you said it works with your iPhone.

  • 9860 Bluetooth problems with car hands-free

I have a Torch 9860 that has problems with my new 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. I can pair it with the bluetooth in the car, and it will sometimes keep the connection on the next trip, but usually I get a 'connection failed' message.
If I revert to the previous OS version, the problem goes away. I had to have the phone replaced recently, though, and the problem is back. It works great with a Jabra earpiece, but not with the car. I could do the same downgrade, but I would prefer not to.
    Any ideas, please?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Another user posted, and it worked for me ... go into the properties of the Bluetooth connection and disable everything except 'handsfree dialing.' You will probably then have to re-pair. You won't get streaming music, but I never use that anyway. Hyunday is supposed to be working on a fix, and gave me a rough date of the end of the month. Good luck!

  • After upgrade to ios 6 usb connection problems with car stereo

    Hi Everyone,
after ios upgrade to ios6 i am not further able to use the iPhone 4s as music device - having usb connection problems ("not readable"). I am sure, that the upgrade ist the culprit; worked fine before. My car stereo is built in a Volvo XC 60; the device is connected via the standard usb cable by apple.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks

  • Bluetooth problem with car system -- HELP PLEASE!

New IPhone owner. Want to/have to use Bluetooth for hands free driving. Efforts to "pair" phone with car's system unsuccessful so far. Help would be appreciated.
Specs: IPhone 8gb purchased yesterday. Running Version 1.1.3. Vehicle is 2008 BWM X5.
Advised by BMW Bluetooth techs to try to get download of version 1.1.2 because vehicle's system may not recogize 1.1.3.
OK, how do I get 1.1.2? If I get it, will it erase 1.1.3 on IPhone? How do I speak to an Apple/Bluetooth/vehicle expert?
    Thanks in advance.

Did you call Apple Care? They could at least walk you thru the sync. Mine took a few attemps to sync with my Landrover's bluetooth.

I did the latest update on my iphone 5.  Since the update, I keep having problems while trying to listen to my audiobook via bluetooth in my car.  It is "Skipping" constantly.  I did not do that before.  What can I do to fix that?

unfortunately theyre's not much you can do, it's a connection thing.. just try clearing some memory and simple thimgs like that

  • FIle check problem with car stereo

Have a IPod photo, using an iPod compatible JVC stereo in the car, with Ipod adapter.
Was working fine for a couple of weeks, but now just keeps saying file check. Used to file check for a few seconds and then the Ipod could be accessed through the deck. Now file check just keeps flashing.
The Ipod itself says "ready to disconnect", with the menu flashing up every few seconds for a split second, as if it is about to connect (but then it doesn't do so).

  • Bluetooth problem with car deck ...

I bought both myself and my wife an iPhone 4 (iOS4.1) this fall (altho mine is ~6 weeks older -- she wanted white ...<g>...), and then bought us each a Pioneer DEH-P6200BT for each of our cars. I had hers installed first, and it continues to work and connect perfectly. Mine, on the other hand, works but I need to force the connection every time I get into the car. I can either use the deck to select the device and initiated the pairing, or I can use the iPhone's bluetooth settings to request the pairing (neither involving the PIN - I just need to give each device a manual poke).
Relative to my wife's working properly, mine should as well -- it's almost as if there's a switch somewhere that I've overlooked. One difference between mine an hers however, is that I have 2 devices listed for my iPhone, a Plantronics bluetooth headset and the Pioneer deck, whereas her iPhone has only the deck. Has anyone noticed automatic pairing problems when more than one device are on the iPhone's list? Is this normal? Please advise ...
TIA & Holidays' cheerios from the Avalon Peninsula

After the ios 4.2 jailbreak today I finally solved 2 of my most annoying problems between iphone4 and the Pioneer BT200.
    1) +Always had to manually initate the connection.+ If you drill down into settings, general, bluetooth, connect up the device... then KILL settings (which leaves your phone in a discoverable mode) If jailbroken you can use SBsettings to kill the process. If not jailbroken, you might get lucky by switching apps then toggling off settings in the multitask bar. This will work until you power off the phone, but many people don't bother for weeks at a time.
2)+I use a USB dock cable for ipod, pandora, app interface, but once the bluetooth connected, bluetooth AUDIO took over and killed the docked audio streams.+ A free jailbreak app called Bluetooth profiler allowed me to turn of A2DP (the streaming audio part) per device. Now the dock is free to handle all of the audio and hands free works perfectly.
I'm posting this because googling for WEEKS did not solve both of these issues. Good luck to others. It seems pointless that we need to find cobbled work arounds in 2011 for what should be basic connection options.

  • Bluetooth problems with car and iOS 8

Since I uploaded the new iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s I can't get the bluetooth connection working anymore in my Volvo XC60. It pairs but then it doesn't work. Can't receive calls, can't make calls. Nothing happens! It just says "Calling" and the number shows, but nothing happens. I tried also to pair my old iPhone 4 which has iOS 7.1.2 and that works great, just as my iPhone 5S did before with the iOS 7.1.2 version. So this really seems like an iOS 8 issue, unless something has happened with the bluetooth hardware in my iPhone 5S... Any ideas?

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S under 7.1.2 and they work perfectly with my car bluetooth (Land-Rover).
I have now an iPhone 5S, that was delivered with iOS 7.1.2 and after updating in OTA mode to iOS 8, it worked fine also with my car.
BUT I preferred to make a clean install of iOS 8 on the 5S (bad idea ...), and now it does not work anymore, I can pair and connect the phone with the car, but it is impossible to send or receive a call and the car says "no signal" (for GSM network).
After resetting network preferences, the car sees the GSM network again (but impossible to send or receive a call ...), and after rebooting the phone, the car says "no signal" again (and of course no call).
I have tried to unpair, pair again, reset again network preference, but no succes.
I think that obvioulsly iOS 8 is faulty, and Apple guys, if you read me, I think it is really a pitty from Apple to deliver this OS with such bug without giving possibility to downgrade !!! (if possible, I would immediatly come back to iOS 7.1.2, waiting for the fix).
I HOPE it will be fixed quickly now !!!

  • Iphone 4 problem with car connection.

Hey, I have been using an xcarlink ipod adapter in my 2006 Mazda six since about December and up to a few days ago it was working perfectly fine.
Now whenever I plug my iphone 4 in I am no longer able to browse my songs on it, instead all it says now is "accessory connected" and has a white screen with a small outline of the ipod on it, I can go back to main menu but cannot select songs anymore.
I have tried restarted my iphone, I have checked the cables, It has nothing to do with the most recent iphone update because I used it and it worked fine after I updated it til a day later.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Since my last post, I have been to a Vodafone store to see whether they have come across this problem before.
They hadn't, but were very helpful, they tested my iPhone with a different sim card, and then my sim card on a different iPhone 4.
We have discovered that it is the operating software on the phone.
My iPhone has the latest 4.2.1 software, but the other iPhone 4 had ios 4.0.2.
Voicemail works absolutely fine with 4.0.2!!!
I now need to find out how I can get this version of software onto my phone - then all will be resolved.
    Can anyone help?

  • Help! Nano problem with car stereo transmitters

We've bought 2 different FM transmitters from Best Buy - were told either would work with the Nano. Both did work with the Mini, but we get total silence when we connect the Nano. Took one back - still have the Griffin model. Anyone else having this problem?

There's a problem some here have reported (and I've experienced once) in which the nano won't output sound through the dock connector without a reset.
    From the support site:
"Reset your iPod by toggling the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again). Then press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears."
Give that a try and if it doesn't work, it may need to be replaced. Note that only the FM transmitters that work with the dock connector will probably work with the Nano. I know the Monster ICarPlay does work, as I use it with my nano frequently.
