Iphone bluetooth to macbook???

Why can i not connect my Iphone to my macbook threw bluetooth?

There are apps that will allow you to do this, I've used Remote Buddy for a long time, go to http://www.appshopper.com and search for other apps that allow you to control your computer. This is done using WiFi, not Bluetooth.

  • Bluetooth from iPhone 3GS to MacBook Pro not working?

I am having (seemingly) bluetooth connection issues with "some" devices to my MacBook Pro.  I note:
    * Mouse pairs fine
    * iPhone 3GS does not remain connected (focus of this forum question)
Error - after pairing my iPhone 3GS to my MBP I get an error:
    The Bluetooth Network is Unavailable
There was an error connecting your device.  Make sure the device is turned on and in range.
    Notes:
    * MacBook Pro details:
      Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro6,2
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i7
      System Version:          Mac OS X 10.7.3 (11D50b)
Background: Ultimately interested in teethering my iPhone 3G data connection to my MacBook Pro, but for the moment the bluetooth connection won't even remain in place.

nothing in these articles helped unfortunately - some more clarification:
tethering via USB from iPhone 3G to MacBook Pro => WORKS
tethering via Bluetooth => does NOT work, with bluetooth connectioning not staying up
    During pairing process:
    devices "see each other"
pairing appears to work, then you see that the connection drops out directly afterwards (almost immediately)
on iPhone message = "Connection Unsuccessful - XXX's MacBook Pro is not supported"
on MacBook - it's just the connection in Bluetooth options shows up as not connected
in /var/log/system I see some bluetooth related lines:
    Apr 18 19:33:14 Gregs-MacBook-Pro bnepd[18950]: [IOBluetoothDevice instantiateChannel] BluetoothHCIAuthenticationRequested failed (0x0006), so retry
    Apr 18 19:33:14 Gregs-MacBook-Pro sandboxd[18966] ([18950]): bnepd(18950) deny mach-lookup com.apple.blued
Apr 18 19:33:14 Gregs-MacBook-Pro bnepd[18950]: [IOBluetoothDevice instantiateChannel] BluetoothHCIAuthenticationRequested failed (0x0006), so disconnect device
    Apr 18 19:33:53 Gregs-MacBook-Pro blued[22]: Removing Bluetooth configured device: 00-26-08-23-23-9d
Any other ideas?  Is it a physical problem with my MBP?  but then again my bluetooth mouse stays connected ok.  And in terms of the iPhone well it tethers fine to the iPad via bluetooth....

  • Transferring Photos from iPhone 4 to MacBook Pro via Wi-fi or Bluetooth?

Can it be possible to transfer photos from iPhone 4 to MacBook Pro via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or apps from the app store?

You may want to take a look at DropBox instead. Details here:

  • Is it possible to transfer photos, files from iphone 5s to macbook pro via bluetooth?

Before I got the iphone 5s, I was using a Nokia phone.  I was able to transfer photos, files from my Nokia phone to macbook pro via bluetooth connections.  It was very simple and POSSIBLE (even though apple support staff said it was not possible to do so).  My macbook pro does NOT need to be paired with Nokia phone as long as it can DISCOVER the nokia phone and vice versa.
Hence, after i got the iphone 5s recently, I'd expected both devices (iphone 5s and macbook pro) to communicate and connect via bluetooth as easily as Nokia phone.  However, I was disappointed to find out the iphone 5s kept "searching" for discoverable device even though my macbook DISCOVERED the iphone!!  Thus, I was NOT able to transfer any files from these two devices.
Any apple technical people care to explain why BOTH are apple products cant work?  A Nokia phone and macbook can.  Very strange, isn't it?

Althought, you can use bluetooth to transfer photos, files from iPhone to Macbook,However,it is so slowly,if you want to quickly copy photos/files from iPhone to Mac,you can use tools or software to help you, such as iStonsoft iPhone to Mac Transfer,This is a very professional tool,Hope this helps!

  • Can iPAD bluetooth like MacBook Pro to establish a PAN through iPhone?

For my MacBook Pro, I can feel free to establish PAN through BlueTooth to my iPhone, which has enabled Tethering for internet sharing. I would like to know whether iPad can also support it so that iPad can connect internet through iPhone BlueTooth Tethering?
I wonder it would be pretty wastage to sign two contract with 3G carrier, one for iPhone and one for iPad.
    Please comment.

You can't tether an iPad to an Iphone. The bluetooth profiles on the iPad do not support that. See:

  • Can't pair iPhone 5s with Macbook Pro via Bluetooth

I have an iPhone 5s and Macbook Pro with retina display (running on iOS 8.0.2 and Yosemite respectively). For some reason, my iPhone can never see my MBPr but the MBPr can see the iPhone. Pressing the "Pair" button on in the Bluetooth setting panel in OS X will trigger the pairing confirmation to show up on my iPhone. After confirming the pair request, the devices remain connected for no more than 2 seconds. Then they just disconnect. (The status is "Not connected" underneath my iPhone on the Devices list in OS X)
This has been bugging me for a while, even before I upgraded to iOS 8 and Yosemite. I was hoping the upgrade will solve the issue but apparently not. My iPad  on the other hand has no problem in connecting and remaining connected to my MBPr. That's just baffling.
Just some context: the reason why I wanted to connect my MBPr and my iPhone via Bluetooth is because I want to use my my iPhone as the hotspot. Yes, I can use the USB cable, but can't blame me for trying the wireless route (And no, connecting via wifi doesn't  work)
    Any help is appreciated!

  • Iphone connecting to MacBook Pro via bluetooth

I have paired my iPhone to my MacBook Pro and selected bluetooth sharing. Although paired, for some reason, they will not connect. Any Ideas

Apple sells a bluetooth app to connect your iphone to use it as a clicker for Keynote.
    No they don't.
Maybe you should actually read the product description? You know, where it clearly tells you Keynote Remote works over Wi-Fi.
If apple makes me pay for the ** thing, I think it should work.
They didn't make you pay for it. You chose to. And it does work perfectly. Unfortunately, you didn't bother to read the description of it before buying it, did you?

  • IPhone pairing to MacBook via Bluetooth

    Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to pair my iPhone with my new MacBook with no success. It will detect my iPhone, I'll enter the given pin on iPhone, but it doesn't connect. Is it possible if done right, I'll be able to receive calls on my MacBook and talk through the built-in mic?

No, the iphone does not currently support tethering the iphone to a mac by bluetooth (or by cable). The iphone bluetooth only supports handsfree devices for phone calls.

Why do you need the Internet to connect to iTunes?

With this sort of attitude, any function at all that is missing in your opinion would "simply be software programming".
The point is that someone has to program this function and maintain it as well.
    This costs money...
There are separate Bluetooth apps available.
An app cannot add Bluetooth profiles that iOS does not have.
OK, that's it then ... no Bluetooth possible in this particular case!

  • Bluetooth connection between iPhone 4 and MacBook Air

How to enable bluetooth connection between iPhone 4 and MacBook Air?

I used to be able to connect my iPhone 4 with my 3 yr old MacBook Pro using Bluetooth. I used my iPhone's personal hotspot more then once to access the Internet on my laptop when there was no wireless. I don't get why it wouldn't work with my new MacBook Air. That just seems silly. My laptop found my iPhone and was able to add the device, but then my iPhone wouldn't connect. Is there really no way around this??

  • I can't sync like in past with my iPhone 5 to MacBook... color ball spins and it want's to go to App Store? Never connects

I can't sync like in past with my iPhone 5 to MacBook... color ball spins and it want's to go to App Store? Never connects
In past, when I connected USB cable it tarted syncing... now it shows grey IPhone so it knows it's connected, but doesn't let me select it. I keeps going to the store and never "responds" so I have to Force Quit each time.
I tried using Bluetooth and it almost worked but then said the iPhone didn't support my MacBook. ?!?
I figure everything is so automated (old term from an old guy) that I've missed something. I miss the Apple 2e's and c's sometimes. I've almost wanted to ask verbally my phone to do it but am holding that adventure until I hear from someone. [ I asked my iPad one time for help and it told me it was busy and ask later.  "Seri-ously:-)  ]

  • No longer able to sync my iPhone to my MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013

Today after airplaying my iPhone through Apple TV and using a new Bluetooth speaker, I am unable to sync the iPhone to my MacBook. After I clicked the sync button, iTunes started to sync and gave me the following error message: "The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." I'm not sure if AirPlay caused the issue or if something else did. I was last able to sync on 12-17 and am using iTunes 11.1.3, IOS 7.0.4, and OS 10.9.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I read earlier this week about a work around with connecting the iphone bluetooth. I forgot to save a copy of it. Does anyone have a copy or link to it. I think it was 10 or 11 steps. Thanks!
