Iphone bought in another country

Hae!
Is it possible to buy an iphone 4s in the states and take it back to europe for use?

Remember that the warranty on iPhones is not international. Should
problems develop that require repair/replacement, you will have to ship
iPhone back to friend/relative in US for them to get to Apple for repair
and friend/relative will have to ship back to you. All related shipping
and insurance costs are your responsibility. Apple US will not accept
shipments from other countries not will Apple US ship repaired/replaced
iPhones back to an address outside the US.
You are better off buying from Apple in your country or from an authorized
provider.

  • Replacing an iphone bought in another country

    HI,
I have bought my iphone in singapore, while I live in India. The service centre here says that only the country that the phone has been bought in can service it.
The phone is in warranty. How do I activate this service? Tried to contact a premium re-seller suggested by apple support, but they refuse to accept a mail in warranty. My phone's battery is giving major trouble and the only way it can stay on is with an external jacket charger.
    Please help.
    Thanks

You will have to take it back to Singapore.  The iPhone warranty has never been international - it has always been specific to the country the phone was originally sold in.

  • I bought my Iphone 5c on another country, is there anyway i can change the OS from china to english or something?, I bought my Iphone 5c on another country, is there anyway i can change the OS from china to english or something?

My mom and my dad bought my Iphone 5c on another country (china). Is there anyway i can change the OS to the "official" or to the english one?

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

I wanted to do this only to find out i got screwed out of my money. There was litterally NOTHING i could do. I paid almost $300 for an expensive paperweight that i couldn't get service for anyway but in the country i bought it in.

  • Iphone repair in another country

I bought my iphone5s 4 months  before I left Australia to work in China, I won't be back until June 2015. Now my phone is dead due to the malfunction screen. What would be for the warranty, can I get a replacement in China? or I have to wait for another year to come back to Sydney to get a replacement?

The warranty on an iPhone cannot be transferred to another country, it is only valid in the country of sale.  There are only the options of buying a new iPhone in China or sending the non-working iPhone to someone in Australia who can take it to an Apple store genius bar and have it service or replaced.

  • IPhone 4 repairing [ bought in another country ]

    Hi,
I bought iphone 4 when i was in china [ paid 400 RMB for extended warranty too !! ] thinking that Apple has International warranty .. But it came as a shocker that "Apple do not fix the phone in india" .. Can anybody tell me the logic behind this ? This is very sad to hear..
    My problems are ..
1 ) Once i go back to india how will i get my phone fixed if it runs into any trouble ?
2 ) As i know apple will not fix a broken part.. They give replacements.. Is this true ?
    Dear Apple Team ,
Could you cover the apple products under intrnational warranty ? that will be really helpful for customers like me who just buy a new apple device whereever in the globe we are !!! thanks a lot..
    Regards,
    Jay

"I bought iphone 4 when i was in china [ paid 400 RMB for extended warranty too !! ] thinking that Apple has International warranty .. "
    That's your error.  Not Apple's.
Can anybody tell me the logic behind this ? This is very sad to hear..
The logic is irrelevant.  It's Apple's policy, pure and simple.
1 ) Once i go back to india how will i get my phone fixed if it runs into any trouble ?
You'll have to send it back to someone in China to get it repaired.
2 ) As i know apple will not fix a broken part.. They give replacements.. Is this true ?
Depends on the part.  Some parts are indeed repaired.

Another error you have made:  we're not Apple here.  We're users just like you.  If you have feedback for Apple, it goes here:  http://www.apple.com/iphone.html

  • Purchasing iPhone/iPad in another country

I am currently in India, although I live in the UK.
If I were to purchase an iPhone/iPod in India, will it have the same functionality of one purchased in the UK, when I am back in the UK?
i.e. if a function works in the UK and not India, if I bought an iPhone in India, would that function work when I'm back in the UK, using a UK network etc?
I don't want to purchase a product that I can't fully use once I'm back in the UK.
    Thanks

Assuming that you have an UNLOCKED iDevice, you will have GSM functionality.  The LTE functionality will depend upon the exact bands that are available in your device, and the country in which you use the device.  You should check the Apple online stores for the two countried, and compare product specifications.  Too, the warranty of an iDevice is only effective in the country in which the iDevice was purchased.

  • ITunes Match won't recognize albums bought in another country as purchased

    Hi all,
momentarely I'm quite dissapoibted with iTunes match.
I have a library with 26k titles - over 2'700 bought in iTunes, the rest is my digitalized CD-Library or bough via amazon.
in 2010 I moved from germany to switzerland and changed the country in iTunes - the ID is the same.
Now it seems that all my purchases in the german iTunes store aren't recognized by match as purchase.
correct would it look like this:
         26'783  total
    -       2'752   purchased in iTunes
=    24'031atch (clearly under the stupid 25k limit)
    how iTunes calculates:
         26'783  total
    -        702  recognized as purchase by iTunes-match
=   26'063  to match (over the stupid 25k limit)
    I contacted iTunes-support.
I told them my suspicion that it may be related to the move, she said that it wouldn't matter only to correct this statement after a couple of weeks.
After a month she wrote me that this is a fact and is not be seen as a problem.
Pointing out that this is clearly not what was advertised, she answered me:
"I want to point out, that 25'000 songs are a fair amount and I suggest to renew your songs, and exchange older ones with new ones."
I find that answer for a represantive of af a music download store quite arrogant, and told her that I now would like to speak to her Teamleader, which she denied with the comment, that she is as high as it gets.
Has anyone else experienced something like this or an idea how to solve this?
    cheers
    Erik

There is no neat solution, this is how iTunes Match operates.
One work around would be to export on CD and re-import (for the purchases) and to re-rip for existing CDs - it will work but is time consuming.

  • IPhone stolen in another country

Ok so my iPhone got stolen in a country I dont live in. Immediately after the theft happened I went to a computer and did all the process of find my iphone, remote lock and wipe, report to police and contact my local carrier for line and IMEI lock. The thing is that since I was just visiting this other country my phone wasnt with an active service, meaning I just managed using the WiFi at the hotel and other places.
if I understand correctly, the remote lock, wipe and all that works only if the iPhone is connected to a network, which unfortunately wasnt my case.
Do you guys think that someone could still find a way to use my iPhone (considering that icloud never notified me that the iPhone connected to a network and the wiping actually happened)?

Change all your passwords of all accounts on the phone, if you have not done so already. The phone will wipe/lock when next connected to a Wifi network, because you have already invalidated the SIM by contacting your carrier (?). In any case if you did not have a passcode lock or an easy one (e.g. 1234) the thief could very well use your phone.
If the thief tries to restore the phone, or upgrade it he will encounter activation lock which will render the phone useless without the Apple ID and password.

  • Can I use my Iphone 3Gs in another country?

    Hi,
I'm got an Iphone 3GS awhile back and I'm planning to visit my home country (Philippines) for a month or so for an extended wedding/birthday of my sister.
I heard that Apple is connected with Globe Telecoms back in the Philippines. So I was wondering if I could use a Globe simcard for my Iphone while I'm at the country? It's currently locked to ATT. Do I need to go to Globe Telecoms there to be able to use a Globe simcard?
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

The iPhone is carrier locked to AT&T. A locked phone means no other SIM can work in it.
Now the phone can work out there, however, you have to call AT&T and temporarily add the option about being out of country (forget what they call it). It will cost a tab more to make calls and use data but it is far cheaper than paying roaming charges if you don't add it.
You are not going to find a way to use the iPhone with any other carrier's SIM (legally).

  • Giftcard bought in another country/do you need a credit Card?

    Hi,
I recieved two £15 iTunes gift cards from relavtives in the UK. My account is an Irish one. I try to make a new account but must I give more credit card details to make this new account. alternatively I tried to change my current account in a "United Kingdom" account but then I get promted to re-enter credit card details. I don't have a credit card because I'm only 16. so my two questions are:
    * Must you have a credit card to create an i-tunes account???
    * Is there any way to make the gift card work on my Irish account when it was bought in the UK???
    Thanks in advance,
    Harry HT

+Is there any way to make the gift card work on my Irish account when it was bought in the UK???+
Unfortunately, no. You might as well give them back to your UK relatives.
    From the gift card FAQ:
+Gift certificates and gift cards purchased on the iTunes Store are valid for use only in the country in which they were purchased.+

My son tried to put in the validation code issued to his e-mail on his iTune account to purchase but it get declained as a message to the effecty that "code can only be used in purchased country as your iTune account does not match the country"
He'd tried by changing the iTune store to Ireland and attempted to redeem in his iTune acconut and it is not sucessful>
What shoud he do use this gift?
Should his Aunt in Ireland need to contact the Apple?
Would anybody help to understand what next my son could do?
[My son is 13 yrs old and do not have credit card]
Thank you for your time in answering my question.

    You cannot use it.
    Gifts are country specific.
They cannot be used outside of the country of origin and without a valid account in that country.

Call the store & ask the sales staff to send you one if you are no longer in Poland.  If you are still there, what is stopping you from visiting the store?

  • Warranty when bought in another country

Is there a warranty on iPod touch 5. Generation if my brother (who lives in Japan) gives it to my daughter for Christmas? My daughter and I live in Denmark.

The Apple iPod warranty is international. If the country does not have an Apple store to bring it to then the Authorized Service Center may charge a fee.
