IPhone broken screen warranty help

If I purchase a sealed iPhone with a broken screen, caused by shipping, on ebay still covered by one year warranty...could I have apple fix it or send me a new one?

This is a user to user help forum only so on one here can answer what Apple will do in this situation definitively but IMO, I think it is doubtful that Apple will cover this under warranty since they did not ship the iPhone to you.
Since this eBay seller is reporting this iPhone has a cracked screen but the plastic wrapping has not been removed and is probably selling it for less than you can purchase one from Apple or AT&T which is why you are so interested, but you are risking having Apple cover this under warranty which I would not do but if you want to gamble with this, go for it but have the this eBay seller promise in writing to reimburse you if Apple does not cover this under warranty after you return it to the seller.

i agreed with that at the firest moment put then they said that the replacement cannot be free .. they asked for huge amount of money ( was mor ethan the original price ) so what should i do ? throw away my phone simply ?????

Thinkpad T520 broken screen - warranty ??

Hi !
I have ThinkPad T520 and there is still 91 days of warranty. I accidently hit the rear side of screen on a hard object while moving my laptop and the whole screen got crazy. It looks like that whole matrix is broken, nothing is visible, it's blinking with strange colours and it has wide line dividing the screen which is easy to see when moving a finger on it. However it is not physically damaged from outside, just some stuff inside got broken. The hit wasn't hard and I am very surprised that whole screen is now damaged! There is also a darker spot in lower part of the screen which is quite hot. I hope it is not going to explode, will it ??
Because the hit wasn't hard and from my point of view it is damaged because this part has poor quality, I would like to benefit my warranty. Do you think that I have chances that they will repair it for free ? There are few computer services in Poland that repair Lenovo computer on warranty, however I wonder if it matters which one I choose or are there strict rules that Lenovo provides to consider such cases. I heard that physical damage is not considered as a case under warranty, but as I said IMHO this is NOT a physical damage, because the hit was not strong and there is no mark of it on rear side. Laptops are suppoused to be movable, not static !

The only way to know for sure how they'll handle the issue, is to call Service and ask. My presumption would be, though, that if you do not have an Accidental Damage Protection warranty, then the repair would not be covered. I don't speak for Lenovo, though, so it's only my presumption based on other accounts I've read here and elsewhere.

ENVY m6-1178sa Broken screen hinge help

Hi, Oh my goodness! I'm having the same problem with my left hinge. The hinge started to crack out of nowhere and the lid screen did not close properly. I've been trying to find a fix for this for months and the problem is I have no idea how to repair it without spending a LOT of money. The monitor still works but in the beginning when the hinge started cracking I stopped closing the lid all together because the screen started separating and the bottom left corner of the screen had a small black patch. It seems as if hp hp should address this issue because it seems to be quite common as I came across this when I googled this problem. I am always very careful with my laptop as I rely on it for word processing. I bought my notebook at best buy 2 years ago (goodbye guarantee/warranty) and I'm in Canada so I'm not even sure if there is any official hp place I could send it to. Please some help me with this, this computer is my main and only one and as a working mom of 4 I cannot afford for the problem to get worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Black iPhone 4s screen. HELP

My iphone 4s connects to itunes, and the alarm goes of and i can turn the alrm of by pressing the turn off bottun, but i can't see anything on the screen. Whats wrong? (I lost the phone on the floor)

Reset, hold both the home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to restart itself. If still nothing, possibly the front screen LCD connector simply came loose and needs to be pressed back down into place, or the LCD is damaged, and you need replacement of the front screen assembly. Apple will handle this under Warranty or AppleCare with Replacement iPhone 4S, if no coverage it will cost $199 at Apple Store for replacement iPhone 4S.

Dead Pixels? Broken Screen? HELP!

Hi everyone,
So about 3 weeks ago I bought a brand new 8G iPod touch.
I use it almost every day, and I've never had a problem with it.
Recently, I started getting battery issues which weren't drastic but were obvious enough to bug me, but I let it slide because the amount of time I used the ipod wasn't affected by it.
Just this morning, I was using it, and after I was done I placed it on my desk. Without any use between the time I had put it down, and when I came back for it (About 3 hours), A patch of dead pixels or SOMETHING about the size of a fingernail formed. I got pretty annoyed at this, but I didn't move it anywhere else, because I plan to take it to the store tomorrow and ask about what can be done.
Though, another hour or so after that happened I checked it again, and the patch had gotten bigger.
This kept happening until the patch became a line which strewed across the whole screen.
After that, the screen began to flicker and pulse like a broken TV.
What the heck is going on!?

Hey what happened, did they give you a new one, cause exactly the same thing has happend to mine, I even had it in a protective case thing and grey lines appeared on the screen, But the screen didn't flicker or pluse.

Yesterday i dropped my phone and the screen got shattered. The phone is working fine. but the screen is cracked.
After searching through the internet, i found out the following options:
Getting Out-of-warranty Replacement.
Getting the screen repaired by Apple Store.
I am located in India and had bought the phone from India only.
So my questions are?
What is the cost of getting an out-of warranty replacement for iPhone 5?
Can i get a replacement for a higher model of iPhone( maybe 5s or upcoming iPhone 6). If yes, how much extra i'll have to pay?
Is it possible to repair the broken screen in India? if yes, what will be the tentative cost?

Apple no longer sells the iPhone 5. They keep a number of units on hand for out of warranty service, which is $269 in the US.
Buying from Craiglist (or on-line) is usually risky as the phones turn out to be not what they are advertised as.

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!

It is unlikely but you can atleast try they might set it up for free but expect an email about paying 269 for physical damage

Your warranty became void when you damaged the screen. Out of warranty replacement is $229. Some Apple stores are starting to just repair the screen for $149, but reportedly it's only a few subset of Apple stores. Call yours and find out.

They do not know where your phone is yet because it has not had enough time to go through the process yet. I also started to worry when two weeks had passed and my iPhone 5S was still showing not received on the status website. That's when I joined this forum to see if anyone else was having the same problem. What I found out was that some people had been given reduced value for their trade in, but I also found posts from people like myself that were worried that their phone was lost and then came back and posted a week or two later that they had received their gift card.
I decided to chill and give it some time and about a week later my gift card arrived. If it had been for less than the promised amount I would no doubt still be upset and posting about it like the many posts I still see on here on a regular basis.
This is no doubt a popular program for Verizon. I would imagine there have been thousands of phones traded in. There are going to be at least some screw ups in the process. There is no point in getting ahead of yourself and assuming your case will be one of the screw ups unless it already is. Verizon has been consistently posting that it could take 4-6 weeks for processing. You will at some point likely hear the status on your traded-in phone. Patience would not hurt in this case.

No. If you break the screen it is not covered by your warranty unless you purchased the Extended AppleCare coverage.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
