IPhone bumper case is leaving marks on my iPhone 4...

My iPhone bumper case has been leaving marks on my iPhone 4 on the stainless steal band that and I can't get it off, is this common for the bumper case to leave marks?

It seems as if plastic contacting the metal band may leave some marks. I know my Otterbox Commuter case has left some by the speaker grilles. This post is a bit unfortunate since I decided to order a bumper not too long ago.
You could buy a screen protector that comes with band protection, or some band protectors.

Oh okay. Well, I've just had a look at the actual product in the store, and it said currently unavailable, which you probably knew already. Maybe your best bet would be to check after September 30 (I know it is so far away) since that is the date that you can no longer order a free one. Other than that I would suggest to ask at your local genius bar, or see if your carrier/service provider has any for sale.
One more option I believe you have is to buy one not directly affiliated with the Apple brand. Yes, it is slightly more risky to have a non-apple brand, but since it's just a bumper you could ask to put it on before paying for it. see if it fits.
That's all I can think of to help you. Sorry I dont have better news.

IPhone 5 Cases - Style vs Protection

The iPhone 5 is a stylish piece of tech and it's one of the main reasons many people get it.
Do you feel adding a case takes away from the style? (no case)
Do you feel you need extra protection to keep it safe from harm? (bulky otterboxes)

I am new to the iPhone craze, but after a couple of days using the "naked" phone I did not feel safe leaving it that way. Holding it by the thin sides between two fingers, as I sometime do, was way too slippery feeling and insecure. I bought a basic soft case, have a couple now, and a glass screen protector since then. The cases are very form fitting, and rather cheap too. It gives me much better grip around the edges, and a sense of security too. I may move on up to a bulkier one with even more protection but only if I really like the colors and design and decide it doesn't take too much away from my slim, sleak new iphone.

Cleaning iPhone 4 Bumper cases

Hi, I've had my Apple orange bumper case For just over two weeks and I've noticed the soft plastic is getting really dirty, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on cleaning them?
I've tried wipesand soapy water but it don't seem to be getting cleaner!

Firstly: REMOVE BUMPER FROM IPHONE before attempting to clean!!!
A solution of warm water and dishwashing detergent should do the trick. For harder stains try Goo be Gone which is sold in hardware stores, Home depot, Lowes etc.
Dry with a microfiber towel not a paper towel as this will leave lint.

Did you know that an aluminium bumper case for IPhone 5 effects signal strength?

I purchased a third party aluminuim case online called Transformers bumper case. When I had it installed, it drops the signal all the way down to 1 bar. On the otherhand when I use a plastic or rubberized case, the signal is not affected. Does anyone else have a similar experience??

Never used a metallic case, simply because that changes the antenna configuration. A problem with first of the iPhone 4 models was attributed to hoe the iPhone was held and the effect on the surrounding antenna band. Good reason to not enclose the iPhone in a metal case.

Iphone with bumper case and connector cable

I recently purchased the iPhone 4 and gave my wife my 3G. I had a couple of cables that I use on the 3G for my car and at the desk. I attempted today to charge the iPhone 4 while on a trip only find that the cables that I have for the 3G will not fit into the iPhone 4 which has the bumper case. The opening on the case is smaller than the plastic insulator on the connector.
Fortunately I brought the one that came with it, which normally stays on my desk, along on the trip and was able to charge it without taking the case off. But now it appears I'll have to purchase another cable for my car charger.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I made the same discovery on both my iPhone4s. It would fit on my SkyDock either. So I was able to successfully Dremel both of them for a secure fit. It only takes about 15 minutes of careful work to get them modified for greater charger compatibility. Not sure it wasn't intentional to increase aggregate charger sales.

Hola hace dos meses adquirí un Iphone 4 con la compañia de Movistar en México. Pero cuando me llegó el producto presentaba problemas de cobertura y cuando quise entrar al Bumper Case program ya se había pasado el tiempo para adquirirlo de forma gratuita. Quisiera saber si me pueden mandar mi bumper case porq si tengo problemas con antennagate! y Movistar me dicen que solo ustedes me pueden dar el bumper

Esa respuesta me gusto! Y de hecho el comentario no fue con el fin de desprestigiar la marca que la verdad me fascina! Estoy consiente de que el equipo tiene un ligero fallo, mismo que la verdad no se nota cuando utilizas el teléfono y le encuentras un montón de utilidades! Es impresionante todas las mejoras que implementa este modelo. La razón por la cual escribí fue porque llevo 2 meses con mi equipo que tiene problemas de cobertura pero no le tiro en cara a apple sino al prestador de servicios de antena por no resolver mi problema. LLevo 2 meses tratando de que revisen el equipo y verifiquen la falla. Un ejemplo: de cada 1000 equipos nuevos 1 puede estar defectuoso de fabrica por la recepción y es lo que me ocurre a mi. Ya compré la funda y mil y un accesorios y el problema persiste. Y de hecho en apple me dijeron que ellos podrían cambiar el equipo o bien darme la funda pero el problema es que no lo compré con ellos sino con movistar.
Mi molestia es con Movistar y no con apple! Considero que si movistar se pusiera las pilas por mi equipo ya tuviera uno nuevo y asunto arreglado! Y si pedí la funda es para demostrarle a Movistar que aunque apple me obsequió la funda el problema no es por la funda sino por la recepción o posiblemente un defecto de fábrica (1 entre muchos).

Best Bumper Case For Verizon iPhone?

What is the best bumper case for the VZW iPhone that is,
1. Pretty thin, doesn't make the iPhone feel that thicker.
2. Under $35.
3. Doesn't cover the back.
4. Has a sort of front or back lip.
5. Is good looking and is good quality.

Bumper Case Scratches iPhone 4

I was horrified when I took the bumper case off of my iPhone 4 today after having it on for a number of months to discover HUGE scratches all around the steel band of my iPhone. I take excellent care of my iPhone, having a screen protector on the front as well as the back of the device. I have never dropped my iPhone and was disgusted that something that Apple make damaged my iPhone. I have been to my local Apple Store a number of times and they have just said that physical damage is not under warranty. I am going again in two weeks as I am busy until then. Do they not understand that it is their product that damaged my iPhone.
The main reason that I am annoyed at this is because when the iPhone 5 is released I will sell my iPhone 4. These scratched would have significantly reduced the value of my iPhone.
In short, I want Apple to give me a new iPhone.

Not everyone experiences it really. On mine there's no loss whatsoever. One of my friends has an iPhone which looses 2 bars, but that's all. It's not really a catastrophic problem. Also, the bumpers are a bit tacky and break easily.

Questions about the iPhone 4 bumper case

im asuming it will be available tomorrow during pre-order in which ill buy being that there's not many (if any) cases out there and I cant imagine having a naked iPhone. I don’t remember them saying in the keynote on the material? it looks of hard plastic, then again it looks rubberish? did anyone catch that during the keynote because I don’t remember them talking about the material?
does anyone know of any cases out yet? I would think not being the makers probably need an iPhone 4 body to work with making cases. Google brought up nothing, thanks!

IPhone 4 Bumper Case Refund!?!?

So i have already bought a bumper case, and i can get a refund yeh...but rather then the hassle of sending that one back to get a new 1, would apple just give me my money back and then i keep my case...saves alot of hassle...would they do that?

It wouldn't matter if you sold it to someone else. The point would be that you got $29 back from Apple. The case is now free per Steve Jobs, so it would be like they gave it to you free from the beginning and then you sold it to someone. The person who would feel duped would be the person who YOU sold it to who didn't originally get it from Apple and doesn't have a receipt from them. However, that person, if he or she didn't buy a bumper or case through Apple, would still get his/her free bumper OR case (choices apparently are coming soon) from them, but I'm guessing he/she would only have the option of getting a new, free case, but not getting money back for the case he/she bought from you.
WHOA, now I'm confusing myself. What I'm saying is that I don't think Apple will be giving a REFUND to anyone without a receipt proving they bought a bumper. They will however give you a free bumper or selected case. These appear to be the choices:
1. Bought a bumper already. Go to store, get $29 back, keep bumper.
2. Bought bumper already, but don't like it. Go to store, get $29 back (if bumper in good enough condition?), and choose from other free case option.
3. Bought no case/bumper yet. Go to store, get free bumper or free case option.
4. I think Steve said there would be options online too. I guess you could order your free bumper/selected free case online and have it sent to you too, but I don't know if there will be a place to fill in and get a $29 rebate via mail yet.
I don't think Apple is just giving $29 back if you haven't paid for a bumper already. I think you can only get a free bumper or selected free case.

Pouch for iPhone 5 with thin bumper case

I am looking to buy a nice pouch that would accommodate my iPhone 5 that has a very thin plastic cover around it.
With my previous iPhone 4S, I was using a Krusell Luna large size pouch which provided a perfect fit. The new Krusell Luna (size L long) and other Krusell pouches are narrower by 3mm, which means that they could be too tight for the iPhone 5 with the plastic cover permanently on it.
There is a pouch made by Spigen for the iPhone 5 but it will not accommodate the iPhone 5 with the thin plastic case.
Any suggestions for a pouch would be most welcome.

If you've already got an inexpensive case, then consider cutting two slots in the back of your case. You can then use a velcro tool strap from one of the big box home improvement stores. It's an identical solution to the Tuneband except without the logo.

Another iPhone bumper question. Please look!!!

Right I'm afraid this is yet another iPhone bumper complaint. But I need some additional help or support.
Right I brought my iPhone 4 last august and has just expired it's warranty, I do not have any additional cover plans either. In late august 2010 I signed up for my free iPhone bumper to help improve my signal issues. I have recently taken off my bumper to discover my steel antenna band unfortunately scratched quite bad. I've inspected the bumper inside and I've seen like a small peice of rough plastic sticking out and a scratch Mark in the same position on the iPhones band, and there are other scratches from the case too.
Now I would like to know if I could get my antenna band replaced by apple? Free or at a cost? Also does anybody know of an email address I can use to contact apple or the correct phone number as I cannot make sense of their 'contact me' section on their website, I'm from the UK. An email would be preferred if possible. I have also seen on some discussions that people have had their iPhones replaced weather apple still do this I don't know? So any feedback would be so greatly appreciated as I'm disappointed my phone now looks like this as i will be looking to upgrade to the new iPhone and sell this one.

All cases scratch all iPhones, from the Original to the iPhone 4. This is a side-effect of the overall protection they provide. Dust dirt and debris get inside the case and cause abbrasions, there is really no way to avoid this, cleaning helps but can't stop every bit of wear.
Put the bumper back on your iPhone, it will protect it, and make it look nice.

Does anybody know of a leather flip case with a belt clip? The Otterbox is nice, but it still leaves the screen facing everyone when it's on the belt; I'd rather cover it, if only for privacy reasons.
