Iphone button stopped working, apple store could not fix it for me!

Hey Guys!
I am a pure apple user since 2007. I have owned ipods, ipads,iphones and macbooks. I have always been satisfied by apple's quality products. If any problem occured in the past it was easily fixed by either getting a replacement product or fixing the minor issues but this time visit to Apples Genius bar in China, Beijing disapointed me and loosened my trust on Apple products for future. I own and iphone 5 US factory unlocked version. I have been using it for 4 months and since the beginning the power button has caused me problems. Eventually its stopped working so as always I took it to the apple store Sanlitun in beijing to get it fixed. At first they denied to take for repiars excusing it to be a US model which could not be fixed due to difference in Logic board. I requested them to have a look at the button if it could be fixed without changing the logic board. I also requested them to replace it if it could not be fixed. They mentioned that US model cannot be replaced because of difference in Bands. I also mentioned that waiting for a little longer was also possible if they could send it for me to a place it could be fixed but they simply refused. After keeping it for 2 days there was no solution. It seemed they did not even attempt to open and have a look as my files and protective films were all intact. If anyone has faced a similar issue kindly let me know what to do next?
If this time its not fixed i ll be very disapointed by apples international warrnaty which no longer has a meaning of covering it worldwide.
Hope Apple satisfies me by finding a solution.

    Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
    Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
    If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
    If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
    Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to.

    I ended up having them call me then was able to give them 1 of my secret questions right and they reset things so I could reset all my secret questions.
    Try going into contact support and see if you can schedule a call. There seems to be some issues with peoples' id's and this update. iTunes thought that I'd never bought anything from my computer or device before, and I clearly had, so it's like it got confused. THen I tried to get my questions reset, but the mail never came, which is why I just got a phone call because I felt it was 'real person' time.

  • Regesitered for $200 trade in. Recieved defective IPhone 6. While waiting for a new one top button on my IPhone 4s stops working. Am I out of luck for the $200?

    I recently order a new IPhone 6, I also signed up for the $200 trade in on my old IPhone 4s (which was working fine when I order my new phone). I then received my new IPhone 6 (old phone still working fine), while trying to set up the new phone with Verizon call center. I was trying to talk on speaker phone and the call center was unable to hear me. It was determined that my speaker phone was not working and that Verizon was going to send me a new phone. It was a little disappointing not being able to use my new phone and having to order a new phone paying for it (which I understand will be refunded once I send back my defective IPhone 6) also having to wait another month for my phone to come it was kind of annoying, which I am still waiting on. I still didn't ask for anything special I was just happy that Verizon was going to send me another phone. About a week later/ last Wednesday I noticed that my top button on my old IPhone 4s stopped working. I am wondering if since I was sent a defective phone and my old phone was still in perfect shape when the defective phone was received will I get $200? Or am I just out of luck?

  • Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications: please do not tell me to check previous answers because firstly they don't work, secondly it's not helpful. My iPhone 5 is an Apple store bought (not jail broken) phone.

    I have this problem - exactly the same on Whatsapp, Yahoo Messenger, Facebook plus a whole load of other apps.
    It's not unliveable but it's really annoying especially when I don't get
    notified someone sent me a Whatsapp !

    Hard-resetting
    Connecting to iTunes
    Resetting push notifications
    Restricting and derestricting push notifications
    Backing-up and restoring
    Nothing works and its clear this is an annoying and frustrating problem for Apple users so perhaps some Apple Genius can offer a fix
    that doesn't involve the above !

    Same with a one week old store-bought ipad mini 6.1.3 backed up to icloud. 
    Basically it looks like Apple has introduced globally a bug in their notification center software with no known solution, every app using notification center throws a pop up on startup.  All I find on this forum are overkill solutions like reinstalling/rolling back the os, which no real user should to be forced to do for a minor bug of this nature.
    Maybe enough complaints will motivate the notification center developers to fix this.  If I have a chance, I might go by one of the apple stores and see what their techs have to say about it.

    Yes they certainly will
    Always use an Apple Store for service .If the iphone is defective they will exchange it on the spot
    It is an Apple warranty and their customer service is excellent but make an appointment it will avoid a wait 
    Back up any info  as if faulty you will not see your unit again

    this is outrageous. I bought a tmobile iphone from the store to use with my att (i didnt want a 2 year contract) and it ends up my sim cant be used.     Buying an off-contract phone does not guarantee that it will be an unlocked iPhone.  You need to explicitly request it to be an unlocked iPhone when you purchase it.
    As KiltedTim suggests, try returning it to the store where you purchased it in exchange for an unlocked iPhone.  If that is not possible, you can try contactign T-Mobile to see what their policy for unlocking iPhones is, they may do that for you (but they may charge a fee too).

  • I updated Firefox. Now, I can't get rid of the blue box saying drag drag the icon to the applications folder. Plus another icon to 'eject' firefox opens. Every time I open firefox, they show up. Even Apple Help could not fix it.

    I can close the little blue 'drag' box every time I open Firefox, but that is a hassle, and I know it should not be necessary. When I try to eject the 'peripheral' icon, it says I cannot because Firefox is in use. I have to wait until I close Firefox to be able to eject it off the desktop.

    When you open Firefox and go to the Firefox > About menu, does it say that Firefox is up to date? I've seen at least one other person with this issue, and any more detail would be helpful.

    This requires the use of the home button, but try it anyway.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    If that doesn't work, try this. Calibrate the home button
    1. Open a stock iOS app, such as Contacts
    2. Press & hold the sleep/wake button at the top of your device until the red slider control appears.
    3. Immediately release the sleep/wake button and press & hold the home button. Hold until the red slider disappears.

    I have an annoying problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300-211.
    I had windows vista home premium 32 bits installed on it but then i removed it and started using windows 7 ultimate 64 bits and a result of that one of the touch media buttons that is used to turn the led light on and off changed its function and started turn the sound on and off.
    When i installed the value added package because the function key was not working the button stopped working. It does not turn the led light on or off or turn the sound on or off any more.
    It is blinking but not working .
    Can any one help ?

    You can try to install the VAP using the Advanced Option.
    During the installation in Advanced Option, you can unchecked the Toshiba Multimedia Button support and could try to install the VAP without this further option.
    I read somewhere in this forum that this could help
    However, usually the common VAP installation should fix this if it does not fix then I assume that the registry is corrupt as already mentioned by Tonny
    So what to say using CCleaner might help, if not. Try to use Toshiba recovery

  • Volume buttons stopped working

    Since updating to 2.0 the volume buttons stopped working. I'm not sure what happened as my playbook has never been dropped or damaged. I keep it in a case that protects it very well. The buttons do not indicate the volume changing when pressed so I have to use the slider in the music app to turn up or down.
    Anyone else have or heard of this problem? My playbook is only 2 months old.

    I just got my PlayBook back from "repair" and my volume buttons don't work, the camera doesn't work, and when I go to pictures it doesn't work either. I don't know what to do, this hard reboot things doesn't work and my warranty has run out about now. But if they send it back and it's still an overpriced paperweight, shouldn't they take it in again and fix it proper? I used to be proud RIM was a Canadian company, now I'm just ashamed...
