IPhone buy back programs

Does anyone know of any in-store iPhone buy back programs? I have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3GS, and I'd like to see if I can get any money for them before I junk them or give them away to friends/family.
I called AT&T today to say i had just received my iPhone 5 friday and wanted to sell back my old ones. They gave me a ball park of $50-$80 for the 3GS and $120 and up for the 4. He said I could receive cash, in-store credit, or immediately put it towards a new phone. So I got in my car and drove 30 min to the closest AT&T. When I got there she quoted the 3GS at $60 and the 4 at about $135. "Deal, I'll just take the cash", I said. She told me they don't offer cash for iPhones, so I frustratedly and hesitantly told her to just apply the value to my bill. At least I get about 2 months free service right? Wrong. She said the only thing she could give me was an in-store credit for a phone or accessories. I explained to her that I just spoke to someone on the phone at their location and he said cash. She then asked me if she should go ahead and return them for credit. I said no and angrily described to her that I don't need a second iPhone 5, nor do I need a $190 gift card to spend on their huge selection of about 2 total iPhone 5 accessories. I thanked her for one of their employees wasting an hour of my time, and I left.
Has anyone had better luck anywhere else? I'd rather do it in-store so I can be given a value up front, instead of mailing it in on a quote, and then receiving far less in the long run based on someone's opinion of normal wear and tare.

I second the Gazelle option. It couldn't be any easier.  Yeah, you'll get more on Ebay or Craigslist, but I like the no hassle approach on Gazelle.  You choose your phone, select the condition, print a label, and ship it to them.  A few days later, you'll have money in your PayPal account.  You can also get an Amazon gift card or they'll send you a check.  If you don't have a box, they'll ship you one (postage already prepaid).

  • Best Buy Buy Back Program!

If you get ur iPhone at best buy u can buy ur iPhone and get the free buy back program then get 50% of the RETAIL value of ur iPhone if u turn it in in 0-6 months and use that to buy the iPhone 5 in June. U may have to pay full retail if u want it but HELL if u bought it to begin with at the discounted rate (ie $199 or $299) you'll get more than u originally paid for! And it's FREE until like the 26th or something!

This is what I got from the program that you can return a phone and half back of the retail price in a certian period of time and use that to go towards a new phone; which I hope that it is true cuz I plan on getting the Iphone that way even though I do like the Droid Incredible I have wanted a iphone for a long time. So if this is not the way it is please someone leet me know me before Friday.

  • I had a terrible experience with Verizon's buy back program

I had a terrible experience with Verizon's buy back program of old iPhone's when you bought a new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. The general manager did a very poor job of handeling the situation, where can I file a formal review or complaint?

I'm very sad to hear about the less than stellar experience you encountered at one of our store locations! I definitely can make sure your feedback is lifted up. What happened? Which location did you visit?

  • Buy Back Program

If I buy my iPad 2 at the Apple Store, can I buy a Buy Back Program for that??????????
    Thanks.

    There ya go.

  • Is there a buy back program?

I have a first generation iPad and wanted to know if Apple has a buy-back program so that I could purchase an iPad 2?

In a few countries Apple works with a company who will give you some return on an existing device; select your country as appropriate on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/recycling/
Similar programs are available in a few other countries, and some dealers may have their own trade-in programs. But you most probably can get more for your device if you sell it yourself.
I would suggest that you save for at least a 3rd-generation iPad rather than buying an iPad 2. The upcoming iOS 7 will have a number of features that will not work on the iPad 2, so you'd be buying a device that already will have limitations.
    Regards.

  • Bought a laptop before Buy Back program was free. I want to add it to my purchase.

How do I do this? It wouldn't make much sense to make me have to return it and then BUY it again for the buy back program. I called best buy customer service and they said I would have to do this.

Some stores won't require you to take the laptop in. Call your local store to see if they will do that for you. How about this: Best Buy allows you to return it and repurcahse it, letting you get the Buy Back option for free. How's that NOT post sale support?
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • Questions about the Buy Back Program

If I purchased a phone today that costed $600 but $200 with new 2 year contract activation, would the Buy Back program money back percentages come from the $600 or $200?
Also in about 6 months if I decided to return the phone for another that costed (imaginary prices) $700 but $300 with a new 2 year contract, would the money I got back from the first phone go towards the new contract price ($300) or would I have to pay for the phone in full ($700)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Crystallee,
Thank you for your kind replies to my question, but I'm still not getting it.
Please let me give a specific scenario that could happen with my situation.
I bought the Nexus s unlocked for full retail of $529.99 from my local retail Best Buy about 3 weeks ago.  I also purchased the "Buy Back" program with it.
I then walked next door to the T-Mobile store with phone in hand and opened a non-contract "Even More Plus" month to month plan.
At that time my current line contract with AT&T had expired, so I had no early termination fee when I cancelled service to start with T-Mobile.
Now, If I decide to purchase a new phone four or five months down the road, my understanding from the sales associate at BB, is that I would give over my nexus to BB in exchange for a BB Gift card in the amount of 50% of what I paid originally, $529.99 for the Nexus s.
I could then proceed to open a new line of service with another carrier that BB sells, i.e. Sprint or Verizon and would only be liable for the new contract price for that new phone, and I would be able to use the Gift card from the nexus turn-in (Buy Back) to pay for the new phone on a new 2yr. contract.
That was the understanding I had from the BB sales associate, who I think was a lower level manager.
Let me know if I have misunderstood the "Buy Back" process as I've described it here.
Thank you again for your patience.  My son would understand all of this.  I'm getting too old! (lol)

  • IMac buy back program? Ideas?  Just got a i7 2010 in January... And now the new ones have thunderbolt and 3.4 ghzs

As stated, I got an i7 2010 model in january, and the new iMacs just came out.  Is there some kind of buy back program with apple?  If not :/ .  Anybody have ideas? (I also noticed the new maxed out is cheaper than the 2010s). Thanks everyone!

There's no buy back programme I've ever heard of.
The i7 you've got is still a pretty potent machine - does it do everything you want or do you need something that the new iMac's offer.
If you really want to replace it with one from the new range I reckon your best bet would be eBay. iMac's have a good resale value. Have a look here (UK site): http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p4712.m570.l1311&_nkw=imac+27&_sacat=S ee-All-Categories

  • BB insurance and buy back program

    1. I have the BB insurance and have used it once for a rapid exchange last month. Can I use it again since I just got the phone and have only dropped it this one time and the screen shattered?
    2. Last time all my contacts were lost due to the service clerk spending more time talking to a co-worker than assiting me, How can I ensure that doesn't happen again?
    3. I am due for a free upgrade next month should I wait to get new phone then? Will the buy back program still apply if the screen is shattered?

    1. Yes, the phone can be rapid-exchanged unlimited times as long as you are covered.
    2. If you can still use the phone despite the cracked screen, back them upyourself. Android can sync your contacts to a google account, and I believe Apple can back them up via iTunes. That way you don't have to worry about someone else doing it or not.
    3. You need to go ahead and have it rapid exchanged. Here is the relevant part of the policy for the buy back program:
MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, NO WARRANTY, LOSS. You assume all obligations and liability with respect to the possession of the Device, and for its use, condition, and storage during the Plan Period. You will, at your own expense, maintain the Device in good condition and working order. You agree to comply with all requirements necessary to enforce all Device manufacturer warranty and service plan rights, and if the Device breaks while under manufacturer warranty or a service plan, you agree to cause the manufacturer or service plan issuer to perform the appropriate repairs before you initiate a claim for your Buy Back Amount pursuant to this Agreement. CWG and Best Buy will not be under any liability or obligation in any manner to provide service, maintenance, repairs, or parts for the Device. At all times prior to receipt of the Device by CWG, the risk of loss of the Device shall be on you. The risk of loss shall transfer to CWG upon acceptance of the Device by CWG or its assent following the testing described in Paragraph 9

    Has it been 24 hours?
I take it this was a gift card.  iTunes Store:  Invalid, Inactive, or Illegible codes http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1292 - gift cards
I don't know if this provides an alternative means: https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'iTunes' in the first column; 'iTunes Store' in the second column
If you are really desperate you could buy the app yourself, then request reimbursement.

  • IPhone 4s back camera not working even after buying new iphone 4s

Back when the ios 6 updates were coming out  in 2013 my iPhone 4 back camera stopped working, after trying way too many ways to reset the phone  and  finding others with this same issue I decided to start over I bought a new iPhone 4s so this one was better and 32gb instead of 16gb and it was 9 days later the back camera stopped working on my NEW iphone and still doesn't work to this day? What on earth should I do? How can this be fixed? I've tried hard reset, backing up the new phone, all the tricks I've tried on both phones do not work!!

A new phone has a warranty.  So take it to an Apple store.  If they can't fix it, they will replace the phone.  Or do you mean: it stopped working after 9 days, but then you waited until the warranty ran out and then ask us?
