Iphone calendar losing appointments

Today I missed an important meeting, because the appointment disappeared from the calendar on my iphone. It has happened a couple of times before. I can't figure it out. The appointment is right there on my calendar. Later, it disappears. I have a macbook and sync automatically through Mobileme. When it disappears on the iphone, the next sync also removes it from ical on my computer. It is a huge problem - I can't trust my calendar and I rely on it hour to hour each day. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

My problem has been that appointments over 1 month old have been disappearing, which has made it difficult to keep track of my work. Tonight I seem to have solved the problem and my appointments going back months to the time I purchased my iPhone have reappeared.
I did the following: 1. Click on the "Settings" icon; 2. Click on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"; 3. Scroll down to "Calendars" and change the "Sync" preference from "Events 1 Month Back" to "All Events."
Voila!

  • Appointments made in Outlook on PC go to iPhone Calendar, but appointments made on iPhone do not go to Outlook on PC.

When I make appointments on my laptop, they go to my iPhone calendar--no problem. When I make appointments on my iPhone, they do not go to Outlook on the PC. The sync has worked properly in the past, but then it stopped. Your help would be much appreciated.

  • I am losing appointments on my iPhone calendar and also on Outlook

I am losing individual appointments on my iPhone calendar and on my back up Outlook calendar (and previously iCloud).  Is there any good way to prevent this?

This is a long shot, but you might want to open your calendar on icloud.com and check the preferences.  You do this by pressing the gear shaped button on the top right of the calendar on icloud.com and selecting the first option that appears in the drop-down list.  On the window that opens select Advanced at the top.  Here you will see an Old Events & Reminders section.  Make sure none of the three boxes are checked in this section, particularly the second one.  If they are, this may be what's keeping your old calendar events from appearing on your phone, and unchecking the box should restore the old events (although it may take up to several hours for the old events to be re-synced to your phone by iCloud).
    Hope this helps!

  • After installing iCloud on PC, appointments are grayed out in my Outlook iCloud calendar; don't show up on iPad calendar but do show up on iPhone calendar

I have been working on this issue for DAYS and have searched the web and this support community but can find no answers.  I have a PC, iPad, and iPhone.  I installed iCloud on my PC so that I could sync calendars, contacts, and maybe tasks.  Nothing I have tried has worked.
The iCloud calendar that appeared alongside my Outlook calendar on my PC has all of my Outlook appointments - but they are all grayed out.
The appointments that were on both my iPhone and my Outlook calendar are now grayed out on my Outlook calendar - but if I close my iCloud calendar in Outlook, these appointments are no longer grayed out.  These appointments now appear twice on my iPhone.
The appointments in my Outlook calendar appear in my iPhone calendar but do not show up in iCloud in my web browser nor on my iPad (not even grayed out).
My contacts appear to have synced from Outlook to iPhone - but have not synced with iCloud online nor my iPad.
    This is beyond frustrating.
    Some basics:
    Windows 7 Enterprise, 32 bit
    Outlook 10
iCloud is enabled on the iPhone and iPad
phone and pad operating systems are up to date
I turned off and then restarted my iPad - didn't work
I turned off and then restarted my PC - didn't work
I uninstalled and then reinstalled iCloud on my PC - didn't work

I'm having the identical events...Outlook calendar entries grayed out on my PC installed iCloud and absent on my iPhone. iPhone entries do show up in Outlook.

Not sure this will work but if you go into the Keyboard preferences, then click the Keyboad Shortcuts tab, and then the '+', you can add your own shortcuts for any application.  I am not sure what happens if you try to override an existing shortcut since I haven't tried using this.
    Edit/Update:
Probably against my better judgement I'll also throw this out there - there's an Unsanity haxie called Menumaster which might also allow you to do what you want.  Against my better judgement because personally I stay clear of haxies.  It's (all haxies) probably almost certain to break in Lion.  They always do with each major release.

  • Google calendar appointments not showing on iPhone calendar

All my Google calendar appointments used to show up on my iPhone's calendar. Now they are not showing up on my iphone's calendar. What is interesting is that appointments made prior to last week are showing up on the calendar. However, apppointments made in Google calendar after last week are NOT showing up on my iPhone calendar.
Any suggestions on how to make this work? It used to work and then something strange happened ...

MAGIC happened for me as well.
    Here's what I did:
    (1) I added the Google calendar using the CALDAV option - i.e., go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar and then choose Add Calendar. Here is a link to the instructions I followed:
    http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674&ctx=cb&src=cb &cbid=-1g0evm93kqt46&cbrank=3
Here are the steps that I followed:
To sync with your device, follow these steps:
Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
    Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account...
    Select Other.
    Select Add CalDAV Account.
    Enter your account information:
In the Server field, enter [ google.com ]
In the Username field, enter your full Google Account or Google Apps email address.
In the Password field, enter your Google Account or Google Apps password.
In the Description field, enter the name you'd like to appear on the account.
Select Next at the top of your screen.
After you've completed setup, open the Calendar app on your device and syncing will automatically begin.
After this, there were 2 entries in my iphone calendar for every gmail calendar appointment - i.e., each entry appeared twice. So, I deleted the calendar I had just added following the advice above and now everything works.
Strange behavior but I am glad that my gmail calendars are now appearing in my iphone.

  • I lost all my appointments on my iPhone calendar. What can I do.

I lost all my appointments on my iPhone calendar. What can I do? Why did this happen? How can I prevent it from happening again? FYI: I am on the cloud.

Thank you for reaching out, rsweat. Sorry to hear about all of your calendar appointments disappearing from your phone. That is definitely not normal. Do you recall any new updates being downloaded prior to this issues being experienced? Did you have appointments backed up via iCloud or iTunes? You may be able to recover them via a restore.

  • How can I keep old appointments from deleting in my iphone calendar?

It seems iphone's calendar automatically deletes past appointments.  It won't even let me make an appointment for something that happened in the past.  I need to reference old appointments though so is there some way to make the iphone save old appointments or at least ask me?  It has nothing to do with syncing to my computer as I rarely do that.  This is really annoying.  My old Palm would save everything and it was great since I could go back and see the last time I went to the dentist, etc.  Is there a fix to this?

    Hi Allan
Thanks for this.  I couldn't believe it when I had a wages query at work and all my carefully recorded shifts had disappeared!
I don't understand this bit though....
And what is selected for this under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
Do I need to do anything in itunes?
    Many thanks

Are both you pc and the iphone set to the same time zone?
Is time zone support on or off:
"Turn on Calendar time zone support: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Time Zone
Support, then turn Time Zone Support on. Select a time zone for calendars by tapping
Time Zone and entering the name of a major city.
When Time Zone Support is on, Calendar displays event dates and times in the time
zone of the city you selected. When Time Zone Support is off, Calendar displays events
in the time zone of your current location as determined by the network time. "

    Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

  • Outlook appointments disappear from iphone calendar

I have a reoccurring problem with appointments that are set in Outlook that will appear immediately on my iPhone calendar, but when I check back later sometimes the event has been deleted from my iPhone calendar but not from my Outlook calendar.  It's driving me mad.  Some of the times it does this is when I send an invite through outlook for an event to another user.  The event will appear on my iPhone calendar but once the other person accepts my event invitation it will disappear from my iPhone calendar, but remain on my Outlook calendar.  It doesn't do this everytime, but seems to be when I notice this happening the most.
On my phone settings I have the outlook calendar set as my default calendar.  My iPhone is also synched with two gmail accounts a Hotmail and an icloud account.  The only calendars I actually use however are my Outlook and the the iPhone calendar.
    Any ideas?

One of the things I always suggest our users do in a situation like this is check the cache file on the Outlook desktop client.  It has an *.ost extension.  I've found it can get out of date and affect the calendar on mobile devices.  You can turn off caching in Outlook, then delete the cache file, then turn caching on and let it be rebuilt.  Microsoft also has a number of calendaring "best practices" its important to implement.

We've struggled with issues like this for a while.  The steps above are good for a starting point.  In addition, you want to minimize the number of delegates, the number of instances of clients running against the Exchange mailbox, and accept all appointment notifications.  If any one notification is deleted, Outlook, in the past, anyway, has deleted the appt. from the calendar even if all other recipients accepted their notification.  Hopefully you receive the notification on your device and accept it.

I suggest that no response is made to this duplicate thread.

  • IPhone calendar appointments are gone

I just went to check my iPhone calendar and all my appointments are gone. I shut the iPhone down and restarted it.  My phone is a 3G, OS 4.2.1 (8C148).  How do I get the appointments back?

Forget it.  Somehow (probably I did it), all three options on the 'Hide All Calendars' page got unchecked.  My heart rate is back to normal.
