IPhone calendar not syncing to iCal or MobileMe

Using Lion and the latest software version on my iPhone:  syncing iCal to MobileMe works in either direction. However, when a calendar event is typed on my iPhone it does not sync to anything on my iMac.  Does anyone know of a solution?

FOUND THE ISSUE.
Check to see if your Gmail (or mail) is connected to your calendar. If it is, turn it off.
When using Siri, she was scheduling to my Gmail Calendar (which is also where the rest of my meetings were scheduled) That calendar would not sync with iCal on my computer.
So, on your iphone go to Settings>Mail, Contact, Calendars
Look under ACCOUNTS. There should be an iCloud account and your Mail account (Gmail, Yahoo etc)
Click on the mail account and look at the calendars. If they are ON, click them OFF.
Now if you go back to iCal on your phone, you will only see iCloud calendars listed under Calendars. So from now on, when you make a meeting with Siri, she will schedule it and it will appear moments later in iCal on your Computer.
FINALLY!

  • Ical on iphone does not sync with ical on mac, but the mac does it!

My ical on my iphone does not sync with ical on mac using MobileMe, but reverse it works very well.
so typing an new event in ical on my phone will NOT appear in ical at my computer. Typing a new event on my mac, than within 10 seconds it appears on my phone.
anybody know how to resolve this? never had the problem before
problem 2: ical on my iphone seems to duplicate a lot of events. Non of them are duplicated on my computer.
    related problem?
    thank
    Hein

I have solved my problem - don't know if yours is the same. I noticed on iPhone, when I listed the calendars there are two sections: the top line showed "All Calendars ->"; when I click on that I get duplicate entries for everything.
    Below that is:
    "From My Mac.
"All from My Mac ->", followed by a list of individual calendars. When I clicked on that I got single entries.
This led me to realize that in my Settings ->Accounts I had the old "...mac.com" a/c and new "..me.com" a/c. I had thought it didn't matter.
Once I eliminated the "mac.com" A/c, I had only one set of calendars.
    Hope this helps you.

  • IPhone Calendar not syncing correctly with iCal since Lion-install

Since installing Lion, the calendar on my iPhone is not syncing correctly:
Events created on my iPhone don't show on my Mac
Events edited on my iPhone don't change on my Mac
Events that I created in iCal on my Mac, for test-purposes, and then deleted immediately, show up on the iPhone when syncing.
    Syncing through iTunes (not MobileMe).
Using WeekCal on my iPone, but it seems that the same is the case with the "original" calendar-app.
No similar experience prior to Lion-install.
iPhone is iOS 4.3.4 -up to date
Any ideas? Does anybody know how to reset the sync, for instance?

Hi, my name is Lucas, i'm an Apple Certified Technitian.
Last couple of weeks i've installed OSX Lion in a few Macs.
But one of them drove me crazy!
I have a Late 2007 White Macbook and i installed OSX Lion last week. I also have an iPhone 4 (Factory Unlocked) that i also updated to IOS 4.3.5 ... no problems syncing between them
Then i did the same with a 13'' Unibody MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4 (not unlocked)... no problems neither
Yesterday i installed Lion on a Mid2010 15" MacBook Pro and updated another iPhone 4 (Factory Unlocked) to IOS 4.3.5 and when i tried to sync the iphone with iTunes 10.4 nothing happened.
I mean, nothing.. the iTunes started syncing and when it gets to sync the calendars it stayied there forever.
I left it for hours and nothing.
As i said i'm an ACT so i tried everything.
1- Remove Calendars from iPhone and syncing again
    1- Repair Permittions
    2- Reinstall iTunes
3- Reset iTunes and iCal Preferences and Caches
4- Backup iCal - erase ical content and generate a new iCal database
5- Reset Syncing Prefs and logs
6- Use DiskWarrior from an external OSX
    7- Reset PRAM
    Nothing worked.
I thought it could be some conflict with Microsoft Outlook and/or Exchange server since this Mac is the only one of the three macs i installed that uses Outlook Sync and Exchange server and it's the only one that gave me trouble.
But disableing it didn't worked neither.
    THE SOLUTION
I Already solved this thing out. But i still don't understand the logic of all this... anyway, what y did is this:
1- turn off microsoft outlook sync with iCal (from outlook preferences)
2- Backed up iCals (Just in case)
3- Create a new Calendar Category (by default you have Work and Home... i created one called Test)
4- i Created a new task at that calendar
5- In iTunes uncheck the "Sync iCal" box and sync the iPhone
6- Check th "Sync iCal" box, then check the "sync the selected calendars" box
7- Check the "Test" calendar and sync the iPhone.
This worked so i started creating task in this Test Calendar both in iphone and mac, just to test it, Worked fine.
Then i selected all the other calendars (Home - Work - etc) and i turned on the outlook sync
Then i synced the iPhone and Voilà everything is working again.
Now i can create task in outlook calendar and when y sync the iphone it appears on it.
I don't know what the problem is... but this looks like the solution
    HOpe it works for you!

  • IPhone calendar not syncing

Please help. I am at my wit's end. I cannot get my iPhone calendar to sync to icloud nor to my Mac. Sometimes some events from my phone sync, sometimes not. I cannot figure out how to get everything to go where it should. iCloud and iCal seem to be in sync. New events from my phone do not sync. I have searched every thread I can find on the subject, no help for me. I do not use Outlook nor google calendars. Just iPhone, iCal, and iCloud. I only started using iCloud because it seemed to be the answer to this problem when my phone stopped syncing to iCal. It still doesn't work. I have tried turning off all my calendars, signing out of iCloud in my Mac's System Preferences, changing how far back events on my phone will sync, all to no avail.

I had the same problem too with certain calendars not syncing. I deleted my MobileMe account from my iPhone and then added it back again. All my data including the calendars that were not syncing repopulated my iPhone in just a few minutes. Everything seems to be working fine now.

  • IPhone does not sync to iCal

I am running version 4.0. Since the upgrade my iPhone does not sync events back to iCal on my Macbook Pro. It does sync the other way--iCal to iPhone, but I need it to do both. I have looked in all the easy places for an answer. I must be missing something. What can I do.

I spoke with technical support at Apple last night and they walked me through a solution to my iphone to ical sync issue -- the only problem is that I had to enter all the events I wanted to keep since my last successful sync (which was before I updated to ios 4) into ical manually. If you are ready to do this then the steps below may work for you:
    1. You are going to be pushing your calendar from ical onto your iphone so you will lose any events that are currently on your iphone but not on ical -- you will need to update ical manually to ensure you don't lose anything important.
    2. Scroll down in the info tab in itunes to the Advanced options at the bottom -- where it says replace the information on my iphone and select calendar.
    3. Sync, check that your iphone calendar matches your ical calendar
    4. Add a new test event to the iphone (the selection you made in advanced should have automatically deselected after you sync'd but check just to make sure)
    5. Sync again -- check if your test event was transferred -- i hope you have success!

  • IPhone will not sync with iCal

I'm having problems whereby events created on my iPhone is not syncing with my iCal. (Entry does not show up on iCal after sync)

    archonium,
did you check the sync iCal option in the iTunes (iPhone) sync tab?
If you did and that doesn't work. Try this....
    1) Open Disk Utilities on your mac and run 'Repair Disk Permissions' on your hard drive
    2) Restart your mac.
    3) try again. If it still doesn't work, try resettin the iPhone. Try again.
    4) If the above doesn't work. Try RESTORING your iPhone via iTunes. That may work.
    hope one of these work
    good luck!

  • Calendar events created on iphone do not sync to ical...

I have created several events on my iphone calendar then watched them disappear when performing a sync with my laptop. I have gone to itunes, hi-lited my iphone (when mounted) then gone to "info" tab in itunes, I've selected "home" where it says "Put new events created on this iphone into the calendar" (pull down menu)
None of these phone-created-events end up in "home" or "work" or any of my other calendars. My laptop ical overrides anything on the phone and deletes it. Is there something else I should be checking or setting? I have the most current version of iphone software that's been offered (1.1.4). I would like to be able to put an event in there and have the sync work both ways.

Never mind. For some reason it just worked. I guess I really meant it this time.

  • Appointments made yesterday on iPod Touch calendar not syncing to iCal

I have been using my iPod calendar as the main source for all of my appointments. Periodically, I back that info up by syncing it (via iTunes) with iCal on my Mac Mini. Yesterday (12/29), I entered approximately 100 events into my iPod calendar, and when I synced the iPod with iCal on the Mini today, none of those events were copied onto iCal. I have repeatedly attempted to sync, but to no avail. However, events created on the iPod calendar previous to yesterday effectively synced, and events made today also sync. It would figure that I set all the events for 2010, and those are the ones that don't sync. Now, if I manually re-enter everything in iCal, I am worried that when I next sync with the iPod, the iCal dates would be removed, as it seems syncing doesn't recognize dates that I entered into the iPod calendar on 12/29. So, (1) is there any way that I can get the dates entered on 12/29 into my iPod calendar to automatically be entered on iCal on the Mac Mini? and (2) how do I safeguard my info on the iPod and iCal so that I don't lose anything in any syncing process? (P.S. I don't subscribe to Mobile Me.)

Having exact problem. iPod touch events not syncing with Mac Mini/iCal. I think I'm having some of the reverse problem. No MobileME account. Just starting grad school and it has caused some severe headaches.

  • Fix in 6 steps: iPhone does not sync to iCal

like a ton of folks, the iCal app on my Macbook stopped syncing w/ my iPhone.  i found a solution through Gmail.  (if you don't have Gmail, sign up and enable Google sync with your iPhone. you may be able to do this through your iPhone settings; if not, you can get the app: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/).
    1) Sync your Gmail / Google calendar with your iPhone
    2) Log in to Gmail on your computer, click on the "calendar" link up above the Gmail logo in the upper left. You should see all your events in there.
    3) In the left margin, under "My calendars", click the "settings" link
    4) About half way down the Settings page, click the "export calendars" link (it's to the R of the "create new calendars" button). Your calendar should download in a zip file to your laptop "[email protected]".
    5) Unzip the file
    6) Open iCal on your computer, go to "File" menu > "Import..." > "iCal file", and import the Google calendar file
That did it for me.  Hope it works for you!!

  • Iphone  does not sync with Ical

When I add an item in Ical it always appears on my Iphone after a sync. However, if I add a calendar item on my Iphone and then sync it never appears in Ical. I have looked at the settings 100 times and no matter what I do I cannot get this to work properly.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

If resetting sync history doesn't work for you (it didn't for me), you can try the following. This solution, although lousy, seemed to work. Make sure you have auto-sync selected from iTunes. Reboot with your iphone plugged in. When you log in, do not open any of the applications required by iTunes to sync. I got my contacts and my calendar items. Finally. Now if Apple could fix this in the next update, we'll all be set.

  • My ical on iphone will not sync with ical on macbook

I have iphone 4s and Macbook Pro (OS X Lion; version 10.7.5)
I have my iCloud all set up on both my iphone and my macbook.  I am trying to sync my calendar to when I enter in a new appointment on my iphone calendar, it will also add to my macbook calendar.
I have checked for all system updates on both machines, rebooted everything, and nothing seems to work.
My ical on my macbook will sync to my phone, but I can't get it to sync the other way.
    Any help or advice?
    Greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • IPhone will not sync to ical on my macbook.

Hi I hope you can help,
When i add an event in my iphones calendar the event is not added to ical on my macbook (sync works in the other direction though). I do not have a mobile me account (i just sync via itunes) and have tried resetting sync history. Do i need mobile me or should i be able to do this without it?
    Thanks for the help.

Slight update. I just noticed that on my iphone i have two calendars i have a "from my mac" calendar and an exchange one associated with my work email adress. This is perhaps what is causing me to have problems updating my mac ical? If so is there a way of merging the two calendars maybe?

  • IPhone Calendar not syncing over the air

My iCal calendars won't sync with my iPhone as of a few days ago after I did a reset. I have tried the following to fix it:
    1. Deregistering the computer from Mobile me
    2. Resetting sync history in Mobile Me
    3. Resetting sync history in iSync
    4. Deleting the mobile me account from the iPhone and re-adding it
    5. Setting up a test account which was able to sync fine with the iPhone
    6. I also tried adding my wife's mobile me account to my iphone and sync'd her calendars and they sync'd fine to my iphone
    7. I used her iPhone and added my mobile me account to her iPhone and my calendars sync'd fine to her iPhone
The problem seems to be specific to my mobile me account and my iPhone. Basically the calendars don't sync at all so currently I have nothing but the default calendars on my iPhone. The contacts and bookmarks sync fine.
Any ideas for what I could try to fix?

    Hey Lynda Jo,
That is not very productive when the calendars are not syncing. I am not sure what troubleshooting you have done on your end but let’s start with the first article below to get it sorted out. It will have you check the settings even though you have not changed anything, it may be a good idea to double check. If all looks good after that troubleshooting, then the second article will be your follow up to get it working again.

  • IPhone calendar not syncing to MacBook air

Ever since I upgraded my iPhone to 8.1.3, my calendar entries and deletions are not updating on my MacBook Air with OS Yosemite AND on my iPad (also upgraded to iOS 8.1.3).  Nothing has changed in any of my iCloud settings on none of the devices. So obviously the changes that I make with my iPhone are not making it to my MacBook or iPad. HELP!

  • Hi All: My iPhone will not sync with iCal.

This is a direct USB connection, no MobileMe involved. There is no error message; the Mac apparently just does not "see" events on the iPhone. I've changed the synching prefs from "Sync all calendars," to "Sync selected calendars" (and checking all of my calendars), back to "Sync all calendars"--and the iPhone info simply does not show on the desktop Calendar.
I added this question to the John Maisey thread, but got no responses. Any ideas?
    System info:
    Mac OS 10.6.7
    iTunes 10
    iOS 4.3.3
Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    Hi,
I suggest you reset your sync history, then sync through iTunes again. See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
Post back if that does not work.
    Best wishes
