Iphone camera app disappeared off my homepage

I can still access the camera from outisde the phone on the lockscreen or through the search on the far left side. There's a second thing missing, and I can't remember what it is, but it's space is empty. What can I do to get the camera to display on the homepage? This is so strange.

Try disabling restrictions first, from Settings > Restrictions. If you want to find more information about restrictions, take a look at this Apple doc -> iOS: Understanding Restrictions
Then try Resetting the Home Screen Layout from Settings > General > Reset. That would put all icons back in their default location.

  • Apps disappeared off iPhone

An entire category of apps disappeared off my screen.  In the App Store I am given the option of opening the app, which it does, but I still can't find the icons on my screen.  How can I restore these apps?

If they show as available to 'Open' on the device, then they're still on the device.
Try a Spotlight search (drag your finger downward from the middle of a home screen and then type in the name of the app).  If in a folder, it should show the name of the folder.  Otherwise, they are on one of your Home Screens.
If you still can't find it, got to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.  Your apps will go back to their original layout, with the native iOS apps listed first, then all other apps on your device will be sorted alphabetically.

  • IPhone Camera App Crashed...

Hello, I was taking some pictures with the iPhone camera app when all of the sudden after taking the picture, the camera app closed and the iPhone screen showed the shutdown spinwheel for a few seconds and then returning the the unlock screen. When I reopened the picture app, the picture that I took before the crash was gone. What could have cause this crash issue? but most importantly where's the picture? is it gone or was transmitted to somewhere else (folder, camera roll, iCloud, etc.)?
    Thanks for the assistance!
P.S. I am looking at the iPhone logs and see that there was a springboard crash near the time of the crash. Can a springboard crash cause the iPhone to show a shutdown spinwheel and then leave you back in the log in screen?

    I am using iOS6.1.1
Can you try to load up the apples and try take some HDR photos.

CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when they are not

  • IPhone camera app upgrade?

Is there any chance of the Mac OS X PhotoBooth app being put into the iPhones camera app as a feature? This would be great, even if the addition of PhotoBooth would be a pay for app like iMovie. It would be a stupendous addition. Is there any news on this?

Unless Apple announces, which they rarely do, there is no way to know what they will do in the future.

  • Camera app disappears

I tried to configure the Microsoft Exchange account, on successful configuration the camera app icon disappears. After deleting the account again it appeared on my iphone home screen.
I dont know why there is conflict with a Microsoft Exchange account and a camera app. and settings0>restrictions do not work in this case.
    Please help

just want to know this problem is specific to exchange server???
    Yes.
you mean to say if i configure any other exchange server with less security on it, camera app would work in that case along with my email?
If the administrators of the other Exchange server have not disabled cameras then yes, it would work.

  • Why won't my iPhone camera app work?

For some odd reason, my camera app isn't working. I closed the app and turned off the power but that didn't make a difference. It sometimes open but it's really glitchy, for example: the screen turns purple (not the whole screen) every time I try to take a pic/video. I did drop my iPhone but I don't think dropping my iPhone damaged it. FaceTime seems to be working fine, it's just the camera app and Snapchat.

  • My iphone camera app is no longer on the screne

The Camera App on my Iphone 4S is no longer on the screne? How can I replace it?

The Camera app on an iPhone is one of the default apps and cannot be deleted. It has to be there somewhere. Sometimes an app can be accidentally moved on top of another app and this creates a folder containing both apps. Swipe to the search screen and search for Camera. It will find the app for you.

  • Non iPhone camera app photos not showing up in iPhoto

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook, iPhoto only shows thumbnails of photos taken with the camera app.
Thumbnails taken with a third party app show up as empty hash border boxes and I am not able to import them. Why is this? It's dam annoying. I should be able to get hold of any images on my iPhone regardless of what app I used.
(Note photos are always stored on the iPhone in the Photo Gallery)

It's a bug, I think. Many people have reported it on the iPhoto forum, so you might search for a solution there.
See if Image Capture in your Applications folder lets you download all the photos to your hard drive. Worst-case, copy and paste them into an email to send yourself.

  • After updating to iOS my camera app disappeared. How can i get it back?

I updated my Iphone 3Gs to the new system iOS, and after doing this I noticed there was no longer a camera on my phone. I attempted to sync my phone to the computer, reset my screen settings, and even restore my phone. Nothing has helped. I attempted to download a new camera app in the apple store but it does not work without the original iPhone camera.

None of the included apps can be deleted.
Is Restrictions enabled at Settings > General > Restrictions?
If so, is Camera turned on as a Restriction?

  • Iphone camera has disappeared. replaced with smugmug

I know many believe that viruses do not exist on apple. Perhaps you are right. However, my Iphone camera is gone. There is an outline of a camera, named "smugmug" in a different area on the screen.
Any help would be most appreciated. thank you.

I got it!!! the problem is inside the Exchange mailbox on the iphone (Do you use the Exchange email?)
I have 2 mailboxes hosted by Google ,supported by Exchange email on the iphone. The "Google Apps for business" email has a control panel wich can enable or disable some services and functions on smartphones.Camera was disabled! I am the admin for the Apps so I easily modified the preference via Control Panel.
If you use the Exchange email, this is the potential cause.
If not,you should restore the iphone without restoring from any backup. This should work. Then  separately sync data like address book, photos, music and so on
    Good Luck!

  • Camera app disappeared overnight

Overnight, the camera app has just vanished off my phone altogether. I have checked restrictions and they are all off.
Help - where has it gone, and how do I bring it back, preferably without having to restore the phone and delete all my data.

If you use an exchange email account, you might check with your system administrator who has the ability to disable your camera.
Otherwise, go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Home Screen Layout to put all the original icons back in their original positions,

  • HT1349 iphone weather app disappeared from my iphone, how do i get it back?

The iPhone weather app on my Verizon iPhone disappeared.  How do I get it back?

Okay, I figured it out.  When people in this community say the app is possibly in another folder that means that your apps/icons can actually be put inside of another app/icon.  My weather app went inside of my one of my other apps/icons and it was not visible as two apps/icons - it shows up looking like one black icon and if you look inside of it there are two apps inside of it.
Good luck with your disappearing apps/icons! I was so sad and almost did a reset.  I am glad I didn't go through with it.

  • Bug iPhone camera app

    1.Take a photo
    2. Take a look at it in album
    3. Delete the photo
    4. Go back to camera app
    5. Take a look at previous photo preview(bottom left corner) - your deleted photo is there.

I have heard of people accidentally putting applications in the fabled 12th page and being unable to locate them afterwards.  Usually, a simple hard reset will correct such a glitch.  This glitch is common to those who have an extensive amount of applications.  Do you have many apps?  To verify whether the application is misplaced or actually removed, do a quick spotlight search for the Messages application.  If spotlight can still find it, then it is certainly on your phone.
For the record, there is no such thing as a 12th page. The iPhone can have 11 pages of apps/folders displayed. You can have as many apps as you have memory space for, though. Anything that can't be placed on a home screen can be accessed by searching.
There is also no such thing as a "hard reset". There is a reset (press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears). This is the equivalent of rebootig a computer. It will NOT affect icon placement. Restoring the phone as new (wiping it back to factory settings) will restore the original icon placement but is the equivalent of using a nucluear bomb to swat a fly. It is possible to reset the screen layout without loosing any data by going to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
