IPhone can no longer connect to AT&T network, just says No Service1

Ever since I returned from a trip to Canada my iPhone has been unable to connect to the AT&T network. It worked fine before I crossed re boarder into Canada last week and while in Canada it was able to connect to the Rogers network.
Since I crossed back into the United States, sometimes it will connect to the AT&T network for a few seconds (never long enough to make a call) then show no service.
To try and fix the problem I have
-shut off the iPhone
-reset the iPhone
-ejected and reinserted the SIM card
-verified my AT&T bill was paid
-reset network settings
None of that worked.
If I turn Airplane mode on and then off, it says Searching... for a while before going back to No Network.
Also, the unit is able to connect to WiFi networks with no problem.
Any suggestions for how I can get my iPhone to connect again to the AT&T network?
Thanks!

Thank for the advice. The phone is not a 3G (i probably should have mentioned that).
I brought it into the Apple Store. The genius couldn't figure out the problem, so he gave me a new one.

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

since downloading iSO 5 i can no longer connect to a wireless network. I have tried both at home and at other wireless hotspots. it would appear that none of the previous wireless connections work either? i just get the error "unable to connect to "x"
i have tried to "forget" and rejoin but that has not worked either.
    what to do pleeeease?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Did you try to reset the network settings on your device?

I updated my new iPad to the iOS 6 while connected to wifi. However, it will no longer connect to the 3G network. I keep getting the message "could not activate cellular data network" even though the 3G symbol appears normal. I have tried rebooting, but it still doesn't work. Please help!

  • Guest Ipod touches and husband's iphone can no longer connect to internet with airport. But Ipad2 works and so does hard wire computer. where is the problem and how do we remedy

WiFi connections no longer working on Iphone and guest's Ipod Touches. How do we remedy this problem. The Ipad2 and hardwired computer are working with no problem

I had the same problem -- only iphones couldn't access wifi all of a sudden.  I solved it this morning by uploading a previous firmware version to my Time Capsule.  The solution was offered in a different discussion in the iphone section, which I found at https://discussions.apple.com/message/15180888#15180888 :
    Eureka thats the problem
The iOS 4.3.2 and 4.3.3 for iphone is not compatible with the firmware 7.5.2 for apple airport extreme and time capsule. If the WiFi router is an apple airport with firmware 7.5.2 an iphone with the updated firmware will not be able to detect and connect to the WiFi network.
Solution The iphone firmware can not be downgraded, the airport firmware has to be downgraded
    1)  Make sure that the settings of your Airport Extreme are in mixed a/b/n mode
    2)  Open Airport Utility
    3)  Select Upload Firmware from the BaseStation menu
    4)  If you current version is 7.5.2, click Upload Firmware
    5)  Select 7.5.1 from the pop up menu
    6)  Restore Firmware
Now the WiFi network is detected and connected perfectly as before upgrading the iphone to 4.3.3.

  • Can no longer connect to my wireless network started today

every time i try to connect to my network it says connection timed out. i can connect using cable... and my windows laptop is connecting to the network wirelessly. Any sugestions

    Be careful…
There are two pieces to connecting to a wireless router, getting connected to the network itself and getting an IP address.
If the AirPort icon shows you as connected that means you are connected to the network (and any passwords required have been accepted); the self-assigned address means you haven't been able to get an IP address from the DHCP server on your network.
If that's the case, the next question is why, and to figure that out you need to know who normally assigns IP addresses on your network - a cable or DSL modem, some other machine, a wired router or your wireless router - and try and debug things from that end.
I've mentioned before cable modems as an example; they typically only assign one to three IP addresses and often need to be power cycled before they will assign any more. This is cable companies' way of having multiple hosts slam the modem with data; if you have to have another router in the path the router to modem link becomes the bottleneck, not the modem itself.
So the next question is who is responsible for assigning IP addresses (via DHCP) on your network?

  • After updating to 6.1.3, my iPhone can no longer connect to iTunes, or my computer at all.

Pretty much what the title says.
I updated my iPhone to 6.1.3, and ever since, it has failed to be recognised at all by my PC
Before I updated, it connected fine. After the update, the only thing that would show up is the charging screen, otherwise, no connection to iTunes, and not even recognised under My Computer or even Device Manager.
I replaced my cable, tried different USB ports, I tried re-installing iTunes, even went back a version. I then factory reset my iPhone. Still no luck, so I lost all my music/photos for nothing (my fault obviously for resetting, but not the point)
So ah, yeah. The latest "update" has actually ended up making things even worse
The big Apple has done it again!

I've had the same problem. Updated last night and haven't been able to use the phone at all since then. Black screen, grey screen, light blue screen, pixelated screen, white screen with darkened corners, flickering screen, white stripe across screen, no connectivity to anyone's computer incl bluetooth. Recurrent dead battery. Occasional apple on screen.
    Dead.
Have you had any joy with yours? Or should I just bin it?

  • HT4623 I just updated my iphone 5 to the latest update: 6.1.2  After update was complete, I can no longer connect with my local network, apps no longer are transfered to my phone.  I lost all of my apps and music and can't get them from my computer to my

Has anyone else had trouble with update 6.1.2 for I phone?  After the update, I can't get back on my network (password is correct), ICLOUD doesn't transfer my downloads, nothing seems to work.  It saved my calandar and address book, but lost all of my apps and music (except for a few songs, figure that out) and I can't get them back.  Any suggestions?

I had this problem post 6.1. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I'd just recently changed my password after being convinced I'd been hacked, due to being told I was entering my password wrongly, repeatedly by iCloud / iTunes.  It turns out my iCloud account on my Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars was listed as Inactive.  Putting in my details, turning off Contacts over iCloud (thus deleting them) and turning them back on again, repopulated my contacts from iCloud with numbers attached to them.

  • HT1695 i downloaded the IOS software upgrade and can no longer connect to any WiFi network, what can I do to fix this?

I have attempted to reset the network settings, nothing changed.  The wireless router is working and has nothing wrong with it.  Ever since I downloaded the software update, WiFi connection can not happen and every time I try to do anything that uses the internet it directs me to the apple support site.  How can this be resolved?

    I've tried the following:
    * Settings | General | Reset | Reset Network Settings (Twice)
    * Settings | General | Reset | Reset All Settings (Once)
    * Plugging it in and doing a "Restore" through iTunes (that's how I downloaded iOS 5.1.1 in the first place)
All the passcodes and restrictions are are turned off.
When I first try to connect to the network, I'm prompted to enter my username and password (I've elected to "forget" the network a few times so I can get this screen again). If I enter it wrong, then I just get an error that I'm not connected. When I enter it right, I get a warning that the certificate is "not verified". When I click on "More Details", I can see all the information that got pulled from the network (Issuer Name, Signature Algorithm, Public Key Algorithm, Key Usage, etc.). When I choose to "Accept", I get the little icon indicating that it's trying to connect...this never goes away (I let it run for an hour).
The encryption type on the main Wifi I'm trying to connect to says it's RSA (I'm guessing it's WEP though...I didn't set it up, our IT group did that).

  • HP C510A eStation Printer - Zeen: Not Connected - Can No Longer Connect To My Wireless Network

Up until a couple of weeks ago, my C510A was working well.  Every so often the wireless sync would fail and I would have to resync the Zeen tablet, or unplug/replug back in the printer to regain sync, but now...  Nothing!
    My Firmware is: ZEP1CN1130AR
    Printer IP: 192.168.1.74
    Zeen IP: Not Connected
    SSID: Visible
    Mac Filtering: None
    Security: WPA/WPA2 PSK
Signal Strength 3-4 Bars (I can move closer to the router and watch the bars increase, and move further away and see them decrease.  So the wireless radio is on and functioning within the Zeen!)
The Zeen cannot connect to my network and is never given an IP address, so I can't set the printer up with a static IP address.  It just keeps trying to sync with my network and failing.  Over, and over, and over, and over again...  I have reset the Zeen to factory using the Power On/Volume Up combo.  I have uninstalled my HP printing software suite, redownloaded the latest version of the entire suite from the HP Support site, and have installed the drivers/printer both wirelessly and via a USB connection.  I have powered down my wireless access point and powered it back up to see if that helps, but nothing does.
    uVerse Cisco 2Wire i3812V Gateway/Router
Netgear WNDR3700-V1 configured as a wireless access point (Thanks to the crappy 2Wire POS above.)
I have numerous laptops (Mac and Windows), a Mac Mini, 3 tablets (WebOS, IOS, and Android), IOS and Win8 mobile phones, a Roku 2 XS, various TV's and Blu-Ray players, a Wii, and this malfunctioning HP printer connected to my network via 802.11 DB wireless AND a wired gigabit network.  I run a Plex Media Server on the Mac Mini which is my HTPC for our home.  The printer was working fine in this setup until a couple of weeks ago.
From reading the many Zeen threads here, and on other forums, it's obvious that there is some sort of ongoing connectivity issue with the Zeen tablet on this printer.  HP has been conspicuously silent on the issue, and there is precious little to go on in the HP Knowledgebase, or in replies on this forum.  I've suffered through being hung up on, as well as trying to explain my problem to tech support reps who both do not speak English very well at all, and are unable to grasp concepts and analogies in English.
My frustration level is HIGH at this point.  My printer is out of warranty, and if there is a hardware issue with the printer then I fully expect to have to make the decision as to whether it's worth repairing or not, but I do FULLY expect to be able to talk to someone in technical support who speaks English about the issue and try to diagnose and fix the problem if it's just a software/networking/configuration issue at NO CHARGE, just like I do with every other product that I own!
So I'm coming here to try and find an answer to my problem before I reach the point, and it's very close right now, of totally severing ties with HP, Compaq, and all the rest of their subsidiaries both here at home, and at the company I manage (where I pretty much make all of the hardware decisions).  This just isn't the way to treat your customers.
Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
When Zeen's battery level goes below 5 %; it tends to Reset to Default where it looses all the connections and sync to the printer or router.
So its very important to make sure that Zeen's battery does not go to low. To avoid this I would suggest to charge Zeen regularly.
You may try the steps below as of now and check the results.
We need to Factory Reset the Zeen making sure it is connected (Docked) on the C510a printer.
Once it is docked try the steps below:-
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02844556&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_us...
Open the above link; and then perform the Factory Reset as shown in Solution Two.
Once completed try connecting to Wireless and check the results.

  • Powerbook G4 can no longer connect to Time Capsule network

For more than a year, my Powerbook G4 17"  was able to access the internet provided wirelessly via my Time Capsule.  I recently had to reconfigure the Time Capsule setup to address an unrelated issue, and now I am unable to join the wireless network at all from the Powerbook.  I would guess that I inadvertantly changed something about the setup of the Time Capsule, but I can't figure out what.  All other wireless devices (iMac, Apple TV, iPad) in the house are able to connect without problem, so I know that it is at least not a password issue.  Eventhough I enter the correct password for the network on the G4, I only get a "connection timeout" error.
Any suggestions as to what I might try to get connected again?

I presume you are on Mountain Lion.. it does have some network issues..
Try just rebooting.. and restart everything in the correct order..
Modem.. router/TC.. USB drive.. clients.. 2min gap between each.
If you still have issues do a verify of the drive.

  • Updated to iOS 7.1.2 - Can no longer connect to WiFi

There is clearly a bug introduced after updating to iOS 7.1.2 and I inadvertently repeated this mistake on two iPhones (5 and 4S).
Immediately after updating to the latest iOS, I was experiencing sporadic WiFi drop outs, especially for short time immediately after taking the phone out of standby.
Then I attempted someone's 'brilliant' suggestion of selecting "Forget Network" and then adding it back in. THAT was a huge mistake because after doing that and reconnecting to my WiFi network, everything seemed fine until I woke the phone (iPhone 5) from its next standby. Since then, I can no longer connect to my WiFi network. In fact, no WiFi networks in my vicinity appear! In order words, I am now completely reliant on my limited data plan!
To make matters worse, because of this screw up, my cell data plan exceeded my 3 GB usage and I had to pay $60 in overage for July! I am not happy!
This is made even more outrageous considering that Apple hasn't acknowledge this issue!
BTW, I have tried and wasted a LOT of time trying each of these so-called Apple remedies:
    Blog entry titled, "
How to fix Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone or iPad after updating to iOS 7.1.2"

    AmishCake wrote:
There is no need for Apple to acknowledge anything, because it is not a bug.
Yeah, I've seen the play out before with past iOS updates (re: unresponsive slide to unlock/cannot answer calls). Thousands of people complain but the AFB's jump all over them by calling them newbs or worse. Then Apple releases a patch and the problems quietly disappear. It is kind of annoying to see this replay! Please don't be so sure that it isn't a bug. The fact is, Apple made patches and despite the homogeneous nature of iPhones, there are still literally millions of possible ways that iOS patches can affect some phones but not all phones. You cannot claim unequivocally, that this is NOT a bug.
So you are suggesting that all the complaints about this issue are imaginary?
As it relates to my situation, I have two iPods, one iPad, two iPhones, a desktop, and an Android tablet.... only the two iPhones lose the WiFi connection (during standby) and these devices were both updated to iOS 7.1.2.
Solution: It's the WiFi on my router that is at fault?
    AmishCake wrote:
Millions of people are NOT experiencing this issue. Have you tried rebooting your router by unplugging it for 30-60 seconds?
I never made any claim as to the number of people affected. Besides, even if only 50 people posted messages to this forum, the number of people who do not participate in the Apple forum far outnumber the people who do.
With all due respect, I appreciate your attempt to help. In fact, to humor you... I will power off my router, just like you describe (can't hurt... it hasn't been powered down in about a year now).
I'll reply back with a "thank you", if your suggestion worked.

  • I set up Airport Express as Client, I can no longer connect to my wlan

I set up Airport Express in Client mode so that I could use Airtunes. My Router/modem is a netgear one and I use WPA.
I can no longer connect to my wireless network from my ibook.
If I plug in the ethernet to the router I can. I can also then see from the router that Airport express has connected itself to the router.
So what do I have to do to be able to reconnect to myibook to the WLAN?

Double-check these settings on your iBook:
System Preferences > Network > Show > Network Port Configurations
    - Verify that an AirPort option exists. If it does not, click "New" to create one. - Verify that AirPort is "On" (checked)
    - Verify that AirPort is at the top of the list. If it isn't, you can drag it to the top.
Systems Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort
    AirPort tab
    - By default, join: Automatic
    TCP/IP tab
    - Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    - Configure IPv6: Automatically or Off
    Proxies tab
    - Configure Proxies: Manually
    - Select a proxy server to configure: <All proxies should be unchecked unless you specifically require a proxy for Internet access.>
    - Exclude simple hostnames (unchecked)
    - Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains: <leave blank>
    - Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) (checked)

No, it is not a known issue. It is a known non-issue. Try resetting your IMAP login ID and password. Both the incoming and outgoing. If that fails delete the account reboot the phone, and add it back.
