IPhone Can not restore
Dears,
Suddenly my iPhone 4 showed a no service mesage and that I need to connect to iTune to restore service, when I connected it said iPhone is corrupted and needs to be reset when I choose the reset options it completed the reset and restore process to the end, but finally showed a message that my iPhone is damaged and cannot activate it.
Its not a mis-use, I treat my iPhone in handy way, I never jail breaked it, I never install useless apps, I even bought a protector for the device from the first day.
I am in Egypt, I went to the authorized reseller and he told me that the purchase date is 1 year and 3 months ago so I am out of warranty and he can not support me, he told me its a hardware issue a defect that appeared suddenly to my iPhone.
He told me its a useless phone now and as if he told me through it away!!
Is this normal, that apple doesn't support its clients after 1 year and 3 months ?

I've just got back of holiday and while there my phone decided to turn itself off, it would not come back on unless I plugged it into the wall charger, it said that I had to connect it to iTunes, but being on holiday I couldn't.
So when I got home yesterday I plugged it into my laptop and the Apple logo came on, and then went off again, then back on and off again, it was doing this untill I unplugged it. So I put it into recovery mode and it said Connect to iTunes, so I did. It then said that the phone needed to be restored, iTunes started this process, 'extracting software' it said, and then once that was done it said 'preparing iPhone for restore' but then my phone disconnects itself from the laptop and then connects again then disconnects again. Then iTunes comes up with a message saying 'iTunes can not restore this iPhone 'iPhone', a unkown error occured (21)'
I have tried over and over again to try and do this but it keeps coming up with the same.
Does anyone know what's wrong with my iPhone and how I can fix it?

All- I get this message ("iPhone can not make or receive calls. Restore from iTunes" (happend once while on airplain mode and now once while in wifi only area, out of cell range)). iPhone 4. Newest OS. Never happened with old OS! Cycling phone on/off does not help. Ignoring message causes phone to cycle off then on. After first time this happened, I restored. Six days later...same problem! Clearly a new fix is necessary. Suggestions?
I have not tried that...I will look up the process so that I can do it correctly (and still transfer all of my files, contacts, etc). Any suggestions? What is the advantage of restoring as a new device..is this more akin to a complete wipe of a hard drive?

I made the mistake of upgrading my iPhone 4, a seemingly innocuous task if you follow the Apple commercials' rhetoric.
Now I can not restore any of my apps and before I go to far, I am wondering if I wil be able to restore my purchased apps?
Is there an easy fix, before I waste hours on the phone with Apple tech support?
Why is it becoming so complicated to run a telephone?

Anybody know what happen if iphone can not power On (black-out)? only connected external power source then it will show connect to itune.

Guess what? After posting, I read another thread on this topic where someone said they went to an Apple store and the tech person there added the optional username and password in the Outgoing Mail Server boxes, and then reset the phone again. Although I had tried resetting and restarting a few times today, I had NOT reset it after entering the username and password into the optional fields.
When I entered my username and password into the optional fields, the iPhone entered checks (ticks) to the right of every entry; it had not done this earlier. (I didn't reset at this time, and the outgoing mail would still not transmit).
So just now, I reset it and the outgoing email was sent!
Thanks to you and this forum, it's a great ending to a few frustrating days.
I hope this message helps others. Not only does everything have to be entered correctly in the respective boxes; but once everything is entered and you press the "Done" button, every box should then have a check mark next to it and then you must reset the phone. -
I probably misclicked when I activated the security lock on the iPhone and now I can not figure out what password I entered. Moreover, I have patches and funky looking phone so I can not restore iphine pres itunes. Please advice.
Your only recourse is to force it into DFU mode:
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings. -

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. -

Your only hope is to place your phone in to DFU mode and restore it using iTunes (if iTunes allows you to).
Search in Google "Force iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the instructions precisely.
