IPhone cant detect wifi

iPhone 4 cant detect wifi at all. I tried resetting the network settings (It didnt work). I also tried rebooting but it also didnt work. Also tried putting the name and password on the wifi>choose a network>other But it still didnt work.
Im using IOS 7.0.2 Im not able to update it yet to the latest 7.1.2 cause it requires wifi network.
I dont want to use my data plan all the time when i have wifi at home. your help will be greatly appreciated.

Pursue the matter with whoever repaired your iPhone. When you had
an unauthorized service open your iPhone, you voided your warranty.
Most likely the repair knocked something else loose in the iPhone or otherwise
damaged the hardware.

Go to settings>genereal>network and make sure 3g/cellular data is turned on...

Has anyone found a solution to iphone not detecting wifi?

I have read so many posts from people who's iphone's cannot find wifi networks but not found anyone who has solved the problem. Surely there must be a solution?
I was in the Apple store last week and asked one of the staff had they seen this problem before and she said no. She must think I am stupid or wet behind the ears still. It seems a serious flaw in the iphone.
I do love the iphone mind you.
Anyway, has anyone managed to find a way to solve this problem?

If you are having issues connecting, work through the steps in Troubleshooting iOS and WiFi. While there do seem to be a number of users having WiFi issues, it is more of an individual issue than a universal issue. The vast majority of us have no issues with iOS 6.1.2 and WiFi connectivity. Those with issues need to work through the troubleshooting steps carefully. They also need to note if this is a single WiFi network that is a problem or is it all networks. If all networks the iPhone needs to visit an Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs.

One simple thing just occurred to me. I think it prompts you on your phone to trust this computer the first time you plug an iPhone into a new machine. Is it possible that you tapped "Don't Trust" instead of "Trust"? If you did, then the PC won't be able to read your phone's content, but I thought that iTunes wouldn't either. In any event, you can reset your phone's trust history so that the option appears next time you plug it in by going to the following setting: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.
If that doesn't work, it's your computer's fault, not iTunes or your iPhone. You might want to find a windows computer expert to take a look at your computer.
My next step would be to try other removable devices. Do you have any flash drives that you can plug in and confirm that Windows can see them in the Computer menu? If a flash drive works, I would try a digital camera next. See if a camera plugged in appears for images to be transferred. If they both work, then you're back to something odd about the driver for the iPhone or identifying external devices in windows...

It took me days to find it...
So, let's go:
My iPhone does not connect to any WLAN/WIFI networks at all - just some days after updating it to 3.0. Now what to do?
1. Change your WLAN-/WIFI-station to non secured (no password)
2. Try to connect your iPhone - most probably it won't connect
3. Change airplane mode to "On" and wait 10 sec
4. Change airplane mode to "Off" and wait 10 sec
5. Change airplane mode to "On" and wait 10 sec
6. Change WIFI to "Off" and wait 10 sec
7. Change WIFI to "On" and wait 10 sec
8. Try to connect - most probably it will connect!
9. Now change your WLAN-/WIFI-station to secured 128-Bit-WEP and give it a password
10. Change WIFI to "Off" and wait 10 sec
7. Change WIFI to "On" and wait 10 sec
8. Try to connect with your new password - most probably it will connect again!
In my case it now even connects easily to all the other networks again now!

Wifi keeps on getting disconnected/ cant turn off iphone/ cant open messages

and when I go to settings, when I click wifi, my iphone hangs.
i cant open my messages folder. it just shows a blank page...

The update did not do anything.
AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network.

When you tried syncing, did you connect the phone, then click on the phone icon near the top left of iTunes, then click on Apps under Settings in the sidebar, then find the app in question and click the Install button beside it before clicking Sync at the bottom right?

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.

My iphone 4s is no longer detecting wifi since the ISO8 updates came out. I've restarted, rest the networks, reset the phone back to factory settings, and even tried the freezer trick. It is STILL not detecting ANY wifi networks. HELP!!!

I believe the updates have caused the issue, because it was working fine before the second update released (I hadn't put the first one one until I noticed it had stopped working, and by then the second IOS8 version had came out). They need to do a third update to fix this issue.

If it's grayed out:
Reset Network Settings - if that doesn't fix it, then Backup and Restore AS A NEW DEVICE.
If it's still grayed out, unfortunately that means your Wi-Fi antenna quit, and it needs service.

IPhone 4 cannot detect wifi unless almost next to router

I've had my iPhone 4 for about 2 months now and it could detect wifi at quite a good range. But until recently I have had to get almost completely next to the router for it to detect. It's not my wifi; my sister's phone can detect it at a certain range, but mine cannot. I don't know what happend to it! HELP!

Microwaved iPhone 4, cannot detect WiFi.

I have microwaved my iPhone 4 for 3 seconds (hearing rumors about it charging your phone) and it turns out now it cannot detect WiFi what's so ever.
