IPhone causes computer speaker interference

So, I purchased a nice $250 Bose Companion 3 speaker set for my G5. Always kepts getting weird noises from the speakers just all day long. Little dobops and beeps and static. Just was odd. I thought maybe it was the G5 causing it as I heard G5 Power Supplies that may cause weird noises. Anyway, ends up being my darned iPhone <grin>. The last couple of days I have not had the noises and I thought it was great and I finally got things wired up the way it should be. Different electrical jacks, no wires overlapping, all that jazz.
So tonight I was charging my iPhone over near my big screen TV and grabbed my phone and it was maybe a foot from the front of the TV and I got the same weird noises from it.
So, somehow the iPhone must have something going on that if within a certain distance from other devices, may cause interference. Normally my iPhone was at least a foot from my speakers but I guess that was close enough.
Anyway, so there you go. hehehe
tj

This isn't a problem specific to the iPhone. My iPhone does the same, as well as my last Sony Ericsson Z525a (no data plan, wifi, etc.), and my wife's Blackberry. I tried changing speaker arrangements, wiring methods and paths, and ferrite rings. Nothing stops it. Shielded or un-shielded speakers, built in amps or not, the phones just cause noise. Putting the iphone in airplane mode stops the noise, but...

  • Iphone causes computer to freeze while on dock.

Hey guys, I just opened up my iphone today and it's great. However, my iphone causes my computer to freeze. I'm using the universal dock and the oem usb cable to connect to my computer (USB 2.0). While plugged in the iphone charges and shows the screen with battery indicator. However, after a while my iphone's wallpaper comes up and freezes my computer (have to restart computer). My iphone is still fully functional though.
So here's what I tried so far that didn't work:
    1. Reinstalling itunes (latest).
    2. Reinstalling USB 2.0 drivers for my motherboard.
    3. Powercycling iphone.
    4. Restarting computer.
    5. Switching USB ports.
    6. Turning off auto-lock.
I built my computer myself and some of the specs are:
    AMD64 3200
    Asus K8V Deluxe
    2GB ram
Windows XP Pro SP2 (Fresh Install)

Okay so I have tried and it still freezes:
    - Changing USB ports to high speed 480MBps in bios
    - Changing USB cables
    - Using it without the universal dock
    - Used a seperate partition (another windows xp system partition)
None of these resolved my issues so far. Right now I have it hooked up to my macbook pro and I'm monitoring how it's going. Anyone has had similar experiences with this? Tomorrow I'm going to try to plug in my brother's ipod just to see if it freezes also.

  • HT1338 i cannot update my iPhone cause computer has no space left in start up disk: how do i delete files or make more space free

How can I create more disk space on my computer; start up disk?

    Hi,
How much space did this Hard Drive have when new ?
How much stuff is on there now ?
(Finder > View Menu > Show View Options and select Calculate all sizes)
A restart of the computer is likely to free up temporary files that may be in use (graphic Apps Undo space and the like).

  • Since 2.0, iPhone causes interference in headphones

Since updating to firmware 2.0, speaker interference bleeds though my original iPhone ear buds. This never occurred prior to firmware 2.0, and if it did, it was not noticeable to this extent.

    I'm experiencing the same.
I did a Restore as a new iPhone or not from my iPhone's backup which had no effect.
Hopefully this will be addressed with an update that is likely in the works.

  • Blue screen of death when disconnecting iPhone from computer

So I bought the iPhone and even though I own a Mac I decided to connect it to my work PC which happens to run Windows XP. Everything worked great until I took a picture with the iPhone. As soon as I connected the iPhone, the computer crashed with a blue screen of death. So I looked it up on the forums here and found the article that talks about what COULD be the issue. What Apple is saying with that article basiclly is that this is "your" problem and not theirs so good luck trying to find which one of the 50 drivers that I have on my machine causes the issue. I tried to fix it by updating the drivers that they recommend and the problem is still there. Fine, I will not take pictures with the iPhone.
And then yesterday out of the blue (no pun intended) iTunes gave me an error message when I connected the iPhone, I didn't pay any attention to it and dismissed it only to find out that now every time I remove the iPhone from the computer, it crashes it with a blue screen of death. So now I can't sync the iPhone at all! How much more unsaved work am I going to loss because of this product?
On a personal note, I am a huge fan of Apple's products but I am extremely upset about this. Not only did Apple create a sloppy software implementation, they are making it look like it's a Windows problem. None of the other products that are installed on my machine cause my computer to crash like that, and if I do have an outdated driver (which I doubt!) then the developers of those products have found a way to deal with them WITHOUT crashing!
    Please advise

ok. first I couldn't log in with my previous nickname (not sure why) so I created a new one. Anyways, thank you for your reply and I'm sorry for coming off like jack it's just that losing your data three times will do that to you. I will tunnel my anger back at Microsoft I guess.
In any event, I went back and took a look at my drivers and didn't find any Lexmark or Logitec in there, however I decided to remove the built-in camera driver that came with the laptop and that seemed to work (it turns out that Logitec makes that camera!). I also moved the USB cable to a different port on the computer and now I don't get the blue screen when I disconnect the iPhone.
Thanks again for your help, it seems like I am safely syncing again
p.s. since I can't log in as the original author you might want to have a mod mark the question as answered. thanks.

  • IPhone causes Windows XP to crash when connected

Connecting the usb adapter from the PC to the iPhone causes a blue screen of death (BSOD).
Originally, I connected the iPhone to my Dell XPS m1210 and iTunes 7.3 to activate. Activation was seamless. It immediately recognized the iPhone and didn't cause any problems.
After activation, I disconnected the iPhone. When I reconnected it (literally plugged in the cable), my Dell started to recognize the device. Then it went directly to a BSOD. The BSOD doesn't contain the name of any file. Microsoft error reporting says the file is corrupted, so it can't analyze the problem. The problem happens again and again.
Since then, I have restarted my computer a few times, reinstalled iTunes twice, updated my usb drivers, all without any success.
Has anyone else experienced the problem? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Dell XPS M1210   Windows XP

    The BSOD reports:
    Stop: 0x0000007E (and stuff here)
Let's try getting a minidump to the Apple Engineers for a look.
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
Generate the crash, collect the minidump, and send it as an attachment to this email address

ATA bus error means that data corruption occurred during transmission over ATA bus (SATA or PATA). This type of errors can be indicated by
ICRC or ABRT error as described in the section called “ATA/ATAPI device error (non-NCQ / non-CHECK CONDITION)”.
Controller-specific error completion with error information indicating transmission error.
On some controllers, command timeout. In this case, there may be a mechanism to determine that the timeout is due to transmission error.
Unknown/random errors, timeouts and all sorts of weirdities.
As described above, transmission errors can cause wide variety of symptoms ranging from device ICRC error to random device lockup, and, for many cases, there is no way to tell if an error condition is due to transmission error or not; therefore, it's necessary to employ some kind of heuristic when dealing with errors and timeouts. For example, encountering repetitive ABRT errors for known supported command is likely to indicate ATA bus error.
Once it's determined that ATA bus errors have possibly occurred, lowering ATA bus transmission speed is one of actions which may alleviate the problem.
I'd also add; make sure you have good backups when ATA errors are frequent

  • Listen to iPhone through computer speakers?

I'd like to be able to hook my iPhone up to the dock connector (or a dock if I decide to spring for one) and listen to phone calls through the computer speaker - fyi, I want to do this so I can have headphones on and listen to both game sounds from the computer and the iPhone. Is this possible?
    Thanks for any thoughts.

Yeah. I end up doing something like that in my car - though I find the volume to be pretty low.
That wouldn't help, though, since what I'm trying to do is get both the iPhone audio and computer audio out of the same set of headphones.
    Thanks, though.

  • IPhone to computer transfer?

How can I transfer my pictures and videos from iPhone to computer?

Doesn't ask because at some point you told it not to do anything and told it to remember. That is a Windows thing.
The iPhone shows up as any digital camera would. Do you own any other digital camera? How do you take pics off a camera?
The stuff you quoted was about a Mac too, not a Windows PC.
Other option is with plugged in just go to My Computer and find it listed there as a camera and go into it and copy the files off like any other files.
If you have never taking photos off, this may be the problem as having TOO many has been known to cause issue as the camera roll is a TEMPORARY storage area.

  • When i try to preview a song using my iphone and computer, it just loads quickly and there is no sound.

Ive been trying to preview songs on itunes, using my iphone and computer. Typically when previewing a song, it loads and its a blue color and it will play. Now when i try to preview, it stays black, and loads super fast and theres no sound. And I seem to be getting different prices on albums every time i click on one. Its just being really weird.
any tips or tricks?? ive tried resetting my phone and everything else. nothing is working.and i can play all the music on my phone with no problem. i just cant preview anything in itunes.

The number of devices authorized on an account and the number that an iPhone can sync to are two different things. You can now authorize up to 5 computers or 10 devices to play your content, but still an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can only be tied to one computer at a time. You can copy content from other computers to the computer used for syncing, and get it on the iPhone that way.
Connect the phone to that computer, whichever you want to be the "master" of the iPhone. Click on its name in iTunes. On the right there is a Summary screen. Scroll down it and you will see several checkboxes. One of them is "Manually manage music and videos". If this is checked you must drag content from iTunes to the iPhone. If you have a large library, however, this can be cumbersome.
The alternative is to leave this box unchecked, and instead click on the "Music" tab when the phone is connected. You can then just check the content you want on the phone, by artist, genre, title, playlist, etc. After checking you click the "Update" or "Sync" button and everything you have checked syncs automatically.
