IPhone Certificate

I am attempting to connect via VPN to a secure website that uses certificate based authentication. Root and personal certificates. I am able to get the VPN connected and access the website over a Wi-Fi connection, however, over the at&t mobile network, (3G, EDGE) I can only connect to the VPN and when I attempt to go to the website, it will not connect.

  • Flash CS5 iPhone Certificate Invalid?

    Hi there,
When I'm trying to publish to an iPhone App, Flash tells me that my iPhone Certificate is Invalid. Why is it doing this? I am a registered Apple Developer so all of my Certificates and keys should be valid. Please help.
    Thanks.

This has still not been answered yet. Can someone please assist me with this?

  • [iPhone] Certificate found when no name given, but provisioning not

I haven't done any iPhone programming for two months or so. I'm also using a different device now and don't have access to the previous one for testing (it was replaced by Apple).
So yesterday I created a provisioning profile for the new phone and downloaded my certificate again. The certificate no longer shows up under "My Certificates" in the keychain, but that seems to be the way it should be according to the screenshots in the docs on the portal page.
Now my problem is that when I only enter "iPhone Developer" in the code signing identity, it is found and I can pick the new provisioning profile from the drop-down list right below. But then, the code signing fails when I do a build. When I add my name, it doesn't find the certificate and it doesn't show me any provisioning profiles. I tried that several times, and even copied&pasted the name of the certificate from the keychain.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  • HT3939 The serial number on my gold iPhone certificate is another that showed by phone.

i have gold iphone 5s and the serial no. on certificate is showing grey iphone 5s online

I got the colour I wanted. It was bought in store. What I mean is that my with iPad Air for example, when I put the serial to check warranty online it shows the true colour of the device. My iPod the same and all the Apple devices I had since the iPhone 3G.
With my iPhone 5S I have a space grey one but when I put the serial number online it shows white. Its the ME432B/A which is reported to be the space grey iPhone 5S 16GB.
I just wonder if this is a glitch with the system? I have a genius appointment and don't want to be turned down service because of a glitch.
In itunes everything is reported properly.
    Is this normal?

  • IPhone's and Public Certificates

    Hello,
My question is specific to using PEAP (EAP-MSCHAP v2) with 3rd party certificates on iPhones. I have read that despite having a public certificate, iPhones will continue to prompt to accept the cert every time. Can anyone confirm if this is true or if you
can avoid the cert prompt by having a public certificate installed?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I don’t similar the iPhone certificate processing mechanism, but base on my experience, it must your iPhone not trust the root certificate of your CA. Please confirm your
iPhone have install the certificate which same with your NPS server.
Certificate enrollment for computers that are not domain members cannot be performed with autoenrollment. When a computer is joined to a domain, a trust is established that
allows autoenrollment to occur without administrator intervention. When a computer is not joined to a domain, trust is not established and a certificate is not issued. Trust must be established using one of the following methods:
An administrator (who is, by definition, trusted) must request a computer or user certificate using the CA Web enrollment tool.
    • An administrator must save a computer or user certificate to a floppy disk and install it on the non-domain member computer. Or, when the computer is not accessible to the
administrator (for example, a home computer connecting to an organization network with an L2TP/IPsec VPN connection), a domain user whom the administrator trusts can install the certificate.
    • An administrator can distribute a user certificate on a smart card (computer certificates are not distributed on smart cards).

  • HT201336 Hi I have a certificate expired and was wondering how can I update it ?

I have an apple Iphone certificate expired and I was wondering how do you renew it?

No answers, just some questions...  (I'm not sure what you're asking.)
Where did the certificate originate?  An Apple iPhone certificate?  For what?  For iOS development?  For VPN?  For accessing remote web services, on a server?    This is the OS X Server 10.6 forum; are you working with certificates with that operating system, or with certificates on an iPhone?
If your OS X Server system has an expired certificate, you'll need to either purchase a new certificate, or generate a new self-signed certificate and load that via the Certificate Assistant and Server Admin tools.

  • SDK 3.0 : code signing error : more than one certificate for my profile ?!

    Hi all,
Since I installed the SDK3 with OS3.0, I'm not able to develop on the device because of a provisionning profile issue.
So, I've revoked all my certificates, created properly a new dev certificate, associated to a developer provisioning profile. Every-thing's fine at this step.
But in my app, when a assign this profile (also added in the iPhone), and I build, i get a code signing error which indicates that the associated certificate for the iPhone Developer: xxxx is more than once in my keychain !!??
I've checked the keychain and there is only ONE iphone certificate. So, i really don't understand !
I've redone this step few times, to be sure... But still the same issue !
    Any clue ?

    Same here.
I installed SDK 3.0 yesterday and was about to remove and re-install certificate today, until I found this thread.
SDK 3.0 seems to have problems with handling provisioning profiles. If you use Xcode in Japanese, the provisioning profiles are shown as "?" in the popup menu, while if you start Xcode in English, the correct provisioning profiles are selectable.
First, I had the "?" issue, then after I switched the language to English, I faced this "more than one certificate in the keychain" problem ...

  • IPA File On iPhone

    Hi All,
I have been struggling with this all day and am hitting my head against a brick wall. I am a registered iPhone developer.
My software is on Windows and my app development stuff is on my Mac.
I created an iPhone project in Flash Pro CS5 (Windows machine running XP), used the Keychain utility to create a p12 from my developer cert on my Mac along with a provisioning file.
I click Publish, this creates the Flash IPA file. Now what can I do with this?
I  copy it to my Mac, can see it in iTunes. When I try to copy it to my  iPod I get "The app was not installed on the iPhone <name> because  the signer was not valid"
I cannot seem to do anything with the file in Xcode, perhaps this is not possible?
I have been following instructions here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS144092a96ffef7cc-371badff126abc17b1f-7fff.html
Open the Keychain Access application (in the Applications/Utilities folder).
If you have not already added the certificate to Keychain, select File > Import. Then navigate to the certificate file (the .cer file) you obtained from Apple.
Select the Keys category in Keychain Access.
Select the private key associated with your iPhone Development Certificate.
The private key is identified by the iPhone Developer: <First Name> <Last Name> public certificate that is paired with it.
    Select File > Export Items.
Save your key in the Personal Information Exchange (.p12) file format.
You will be prompted to create a password that is used when you attempt to import this key on another computer.
Convert an Apple developer certificate to a P12 file on Windows
To develop iPhone applications using Flash CS5, you must use a P12 certificate file. You generate this certificate based on the Apple iPhone developer certificate file you receive from Apple.
Convert the developer certificate file you receive from Apple into a PEM certificate file. Run the following command-line statement from the OpenSSL bin directory:
openssl x509 -in developer_identity.cer -inform DER -out developer_identity.pem -outform PEM
If you are using the private key from the keychain on a Mac computer, convert it into a PEM key:
    openssl pkcs12 -nocerts -in mykey.p12 -out mykey.pem
You can now generate a valid P12 file, based on the key and the PEM version of the iPhone developer certificate:
    openssl pkcs12 -export -inkey mykey.key -in developer_identity.pem -out iphone_dev.p12
If you are using a key from the Mac OS keychain, use the PEM version you generated in the previous step. Otherwise, use the OpenSSL key you generated earlier (on Windows).
Do I have to install OpenSSL to do this? I have installed OpenSSL and I try the commands above and am receiving an error.
Are these the steps I need to follow to install my IPA on a device or am I looking in the wrong place? Is there no other way to do this?

Tim thanks for that, it was going great until about 10 mins into the video where you have to upload your file to Apple to create a developer certificate.
I can't do that as I have a certificate already so I tried the process here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS144092a96ffef7cc-371badff126abc17b1f-7fff.html
    Which is:
Convert the iPhone developer certificate to a P12 file on Mac OS
Once you have downloaded the Apple iPhone certificate from Apple, export it to the P12 certificate format. To do this on Mac® OS:
So I use the certificate to create my app in Flash and import it to iTunes (all goes fine). When I go to install it on the device, I get the error message "The app....not installed...because the signer is not valid".
One thing I am trying to work out, if I do the process above do I need to use OpenSSL to create a cert signing request or does the Mac developer cert in .p12 form do it all?
    Any other recommendations?

  • Certificate Authority w/ NDES-SCEP

    Hello,
I am embarking on a project that I would like to get some feedback on.
We are in the process of implementing iPhones into our network. The iPhone is going to run a VPN. Most likely, we will run the Anyconnect VPN client. I have this
    and it is working fine.
However, we have to manually connect to the VPN, put in the domain password, and connect before we can check our email. This is cumbersome. So, I am trying to use
certificate based authentication and the iPhones “connect on demand” feature.
I have read about a number of people using a Windows Server and running Certificate Services & Network Device Enrollment Service. This uses a protocol called
SCEP – Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol. The idea is that the iPhone would be issued a certificate by the windows server. Then, when it went to connect to the VPN, it would present the certificate as credentials to the ASA. The ASA would send the
certificate to the windows server and the windows server would tell the ASA if it’s good. If the windows server said it was good, the ASA would then allow the VPN to connect.
I have the Certificate Authority (windows server 2008 R2) installed and running. However, I am encountering some trouble getting the iPhone to get the certificate
    from it.
I have read a number of white papers and forum postings from Microsoft, Cisco, and Apple. Some indications are that it’s feasible, but I am crossing a lot of
technologies that are new to me and I am not sure if I am working uphill or what.
    My questions are…
1). Is this is known configuration? Have you seen this configuration before? Was it successful?
2). Does this sound feasible? Is there a more feasible way to provide VPN connectivity? The goal is to open the VPN from the phone when they open the email application,
    without having any user interaction.
3). Within the Microsoft Certificate Services server, am I going to be able to manage the certificates individually and identify jim’s certificate separate
from sally’s certificate? Or, sally’s iphone certificate separately from sally’s ipad certificate? Also, what is made to prevent anyone from enrolling a device with the server?
4). Do you know of any good documentation on this? I have read a number of articles and white papers. But, for some reason, there still seems to be something lacking.
Seems like all the established documentation only addresses one aspect of this.
At any rate, any comments or suggestions in regards to the above would be much appreciated. I appreciate that this is a Microsoft forum. So, I don't expect much commentary
in regards to the Cisco / Apple side of this. But, whatever you can conribute from the windows server perspective would be great.

  • The binary you uploaded was invalid. Very unhelpful support complaint

I have finally made it to the "Add New Application" screen in the iTunes connect portal. 3 hours must have passed since I decided to submit my app to the itunes store.
Almost every step of the way here was painful and full of troubleshooting madness. Yet I followed each step carefully one by one, did everything that the guides told me to do to.
I've found that to submit your iphone app to the App store following instructions is not enough. Many times in my life I have had to go through Applications procedures, but I have never heard of a procedure where you follow each step but still run into problems.
So my problem is, I try to upload my file I get an error message:
The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate.
    Question 1)
Am I supposed to be uploading a zip file or the .app file? When reading the step by step instructions it says to zip the file (Yet no explanation on what to do with the zipped file). When choosing which file to upload I can only upload the zip file. Their should be clear instructions pointing out exactly what type of file needs to be uploaded, and also additional notes explaning what I should do with the zipped file.
    Question 2)
Earlier in the process I was required to enter a common name in the certificate. It says to enter the common name you entered when you signed up. I do not know where to find that common name exactly, and and I unsure where I can find that exact information. There should be instructions about where you can find your common name to avoid problems further down the process.
    Question 3)
Under verifying distribution, Step number 2 it says:
"Search for the term “CodeSign” in the Build Log detail view - this will take you to the line in the build log that confirms your application was signed by your iPhone Certificate"
So it shows up in my log, but the instructions do not point out what to look at, and where the problem might be. It only tells you to search for the term CodeSign and leaves you off. Sure their is an image highlighting the required line. But it says nothing other than to look for the words CodeSign. What exactly am I looking at here?
I am doing my best to try and forgive these flaws found in the help section. What is it that I did wrong?

Most likely you got the binary signed with the wrong certificate. Or there's something else in your process that doesn't match exactly with what you entered at the Program Portal.
    Question 1)
Am I supposed to be uploading a zip file or the .app file? When reading the step by step instructions it says to zip the file (Yet no explanation on what to do with the zipped file). When choosing which file to upload I can only upload the zip file.
You should upload the zip file. You're correct that it's not spelled out in the printed directions, but there's a video on how to prepare your app for the store and in it the presenter uploads the zip file. Being only able to choose the zip file is a sign that the correct file is the zip.
    Question 2)
Earlier in the process I was required to enter a common name in the certificate. It says to enter the common name you entered when you signed up. I do not know where to find that common name exactly, and and I unsure where I can find that exact information. There should be instructions about where you can find your common name to avoid problems further down the process.
Remember when you generated and installed all the certificates from the Program Portal web site? You can get the names from there.
So it shows up in my log, but the instructions do not point out what to look at, and where the problem might be. It only tells you to search for the term CodeSign and leaves you off. Sure their is an image highlighting the required line. But it says nothing other than to look for the words CodeSign. What exactly am I looking at here?
Basically, by following those directions, you're looking to see if your code is signed and that it's signing the right binary (i.e., in the correct build folder). It's not telling you what you used to sign the binary, whether you used the development certificate or the distribution one.
What is it that I did wrong?
You have to generate a certificate and provisioning profile for your app for distribution. You can't use the same one you used for signing your app if you tested on your device. You need to have the certificates and provisioning profiles properly entered into your keychain and Xcode for this to all work. Perhaps you missed one? Make sure you've zipped and uploaded the correct binary, i.e., the distribution one and not a development one.
Also, you should make sure that the app identifier (com.companyname.appname) matches exactly with what you entered into the program portal, even down to the case (i.e., if it's "appname" on the portal make sure it's not "AppName" in Xcode).
I haven't uploaded anything to the App Store yet, but I've pretty much done everything else: Ad Hoc distribution to my iPod via iTunes on another computer running an older OS, run directly on the iPod, used Instruments to profile my code on the iPod. In every case, I ran into some kind of roadblock, but in going through it again, I also found that I skipped some step, or missed some setting, and once I corrected that, things worked as expected.
It's a complicated process, one that has a lot of steps, therefore a lot of places for a mistake or missed setting. So try going back through the process again just to make sure you haven't missed a step or gotten some setting wrong.

  • TS1398 How do I install a WIFI certificate on my iPhone 5S

I can pick up my WIFI at home, but when I come to work, it says that the certificate is not verified, so I click verify, and it shows that I'm connected, i.e. the wireless icon, but I can't download any data, and can't even text, as I've turned off my Cell Data.  Help!!!!  Very frustrating!

Hmm, have found the solution so hopefully it can help others too.  My work has made a new WIFI connection specifically for smartphones.  The only issue is that for some reason, my iPhone does not pick it up, but instead picks up the old WIFI connection. I've therefore manually set the HTTP proxy settings on my old WIFI connection with the new WIFI details, and wallah, it works, which is kind of wierd, but I'm not complaining!
