  • IPhone use with Dension ICE Link WARNING!!!

    Hi.
I have an email from Dension support, as I enquired if/when they would have support for the iPhone.
    They returned this email:
Our products could not yet be made compatible with iPhone.
Info about compatibility with the new iPods, about new firmwares and cradles will be posted on our homepage at the beginning of next week if testing of the new iPods is finished.
In the meantime, please do not use your iPhone with the ice>Link Plus. Last week I got the following info about iPhone from our developers: "Unknown charging specification, risk to damage iPhone"
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
    Best regards,
    Dension Support Team
So be warned, I have been using mine in the UK, but will refrain for now.

  • IPod nano And Dension Ice Link Plus: no audio :(

    Hi guys,
I've a very strange problem with my iPod Nano 4GB.
I've just installed the Ice Link Plus interface in my car and it seems working great (total control from OEM radio, carghe it, change the tracks from radio controls, ID3 on the screen, etc.) BUT...I'm not able to hear any music!!
yeah...the nano is totally mute :O
I've seen many post about this issue (with docking units, etc), but I've to say that:
    - it worked perfectly with Pioneer CD-IB100 interface
    - it works perfectly with my JBL On Stage
So, as suggested in Dension Knowledge-base, I've unplugged the ipod from dock connector, done a soft reset (MENU + Select) and reconnected it...but nothing. It doesn't play :'(
Then I've tried to plug the headphones, unplug them and then connect the dock...but nothing, it doens't play.
Saying that I'm going to try another iPod on that Dension to be sure tha the problem is in the iPod, do you have some suggestions?
    Thx,
    francesco

Try a reset of the Nano and if that fails try a restore from the iPod updater. There has been several posts related to lack of audio output on the Nano inconjuction with various accessories where a Reset or Restore corrected the problem.
To reset Nano, press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears. You should have to hold the buttons down for about 6 to 10 seconds.
To restore your Nano, download the latest iPod updater and install the application. Run the updater with your iPod connected and select restore. The updated can be download from --> http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
    Best Regards-
    Randy

  • Is the iPhone compatible with the Music Link I have in my 2006 Honda Accord

I have a 2006 Honda Accord with Music Link so I can play my iPod through the speakers. Is the iPhone compatible with this?

    Welcome to the forums.
It appears that update 1.1.2 (or perhaps even 1.1.1) "fixed" some issues with the iPhone not working with certain iPod car stereo systems. However, not all seem to be working. As others have suggested, trying it may be the only way to know for sure.
If you haven't bought it yet and this is one factor then perhaps you could borrow a friend's iPhone to see. However, I wouldn't make this the primary reason to buy an iPhone.

  • Dension Ice Link in New SEAT Leon

Having problems with my Dension Link and my Leon.
    1) I find that the car display often resets back to Track 99 and will keep playing songs for a little while and then eventually resets the iPod. Meanwhile while the songs still play, the song display on the iPod is where it reset to 99.
    2) The display of the iPod is like that of an Amstrad corca 1983, big blocky letters. Not a thing like the iPod display which is advertised on the Dension.
Not sure if SEAT have installed it wrong but anyone got any suggestions? Is there anything I can do or is anyone having same problem?

I have the same problem with Dension ice>Link plus and ipod color 20GB in my Audi A4 (Audi Concert head unit).
The ice>Link goes to AUX mode (i.e., displays Track 99 and counter circulates from 00 to 09), ipod controls do not function (as they should I pressume, since I am using the Dension UI interface which disables the ipod controls) and needs to be reset to get back the control, or wait a few minutes until ipod resets on it own.
The second you mention is nominal.
Have you managed to talk to Dension about it? I've sent them an email but I got no answer back!

  • Ice-Link Plus and iPod Nano 3G

    Hi,
I've been using an Dension Ice-Link plus and iPod Nano 1G in my Alfa GT for two years without any problem. Now I'm thinking in buying a new Nano 3G but I don't know the Ice-Link is fully compatible with the new Nano 3G.
The Dension Support hasn't answer yet to this question.
I suppose it will be as the base connector haven't changed but I'd like to know if someone in this forum could confirm it or not.
    Thanks,

I use the Ice Link Plus in my BMW, and I can confirm that the Nano 3G indeed works with my system. Ought to work with yours aswell.
Must say that I'm a bit disappointed on Dension aswell... they could have done this test and written some info on their site. Buying the Nano 3G was a bit of a gamble for me =)

  • CREATIVE EQUIVALENT TO THE DENSION ICE LINK PL

Anybody know if there is a Creative equivalent of the Dension ICE>Link Plus? This is the device you use to connect your i-Pod to a car stereo...Very neat and tidy..c. 00 but can only be use with the little white devils!
    Come on Creative..What about it's
    :smileytongue:

There are 3 ways to connect your device to your car stereo. The first is via an line-in jack on your receiver (if you have one). In this case, a /8" miniplug patch cable is all that is needed. Second is a casette adapter (if you have a casette player). Third is an FM transmitter. This guy plugs into the headphone jack and then broadcasts the music on a selected FM frequency. You then tune your radio to the matching frequency. Hope that info is useful!

  • Dension Ice Link Car Stereo Adapter

My iPod is hard wired into my VW Golf with a Dension Ice Link thingy and it works perfectly, but I now need it to work in a Vauxhall Astra.
There appears to be different Ice Link adapters for different makes of car.
Does anyone know if the difference is just the connector or something more complicated?
I was hoping I could just change the connector, download the software and it would work.
Any advice or comments gratefully received!
    Many thanks

  • Is iPhone compatible with GSM in the Meddle East

Is iPhone compatible with GSM in the Meddle East

While roaming from a US based At&t account. Almost certainly yes. However the iPhone is carrier locked to At&t and requires a US billing address so unless you have an approved international account, you are going to be roaming amd risk getting your service cancelled.
Its far better to wait for the iPhone to be sold locally. It is and still will be a GSM phone when that happens.

  • Does Apple plan to make iTunes / iPad, iPhone compatible with 24 bit FLAC files?

Does Apple plan to make iTunes / iPad, iPhone compatible with 24 bit FLAC files?

I wouldn't count on FLAC being supported. 24 bit Apple Lossless (ALAC) is our best bet. I have been patiently waiting for 24/96 or greater support on ipods and especially AppleTV... Desktop iTunes is compatible with hi res files, but not FLAC, you have to convert them to Apple Lossless with Max (or some other converter)... I have several FLAC files from HDTracks, and converted them fairly quickly and easily with Max, so I could add them into iTunes. They play fine on my computer (with an external DAC), and stream fine to AppleTV, but ATV downsamples to 16/44 according to my Receiver. I wish it wouldn't do that....

  • Is my iPhone compatible with

Is my iphone compatible with a handsfree car kits ? I have a pickup truck and would like to know if it's possible i've heard of cars with the kit integrated into the vehicle . My truck is old so I would like to know if anyone has already done this manually do I need to buy an iPod kit or is there somthing already on the market I could buy for this . All replies welcome.

It should be; the best way to find out is just to try it. I have a Parrot CK3100 in my car (installed aftermarket, obviously) and it works just fine. It should work with most Bluetooth handsfree systems, as it's the only Bluetooth function that the phone supports at the moment.

  • Is iphone compatible with europe gsm networks?  help me pls

my friend is gonna buy iphoe from us for me . if he buy that i phone can i use it in my country (i m from turkey) is it compatible with our gsm networks (turkcell vodafone or avea ) ???

    You are wasting your money.
The iPhone is sold in the U.S. as carrier locked with AT&T Wireless only. None of the iPhone functions will work until the phone is activated with AT&T Wireless. Inserting another SIM card in the iPhone will not work so to make a long story short, the answer is no. You will have a $600 paperweight only so save your money.

  • Is iphone compatible with tmobile service?

i was wondering if the iphone is compatible with Tmobile phone service. Can I add it to a family plan?

Not for the next 4 1/2 years I'm afraid (AT&T is the exclusive carrier for 5 years from launch).

  • Is unlocked iphone compatible with telus

I currently live in Canada, and I ordered an unlocked iPhone from the Canadian online store. Is it fully compatible with TELUS?  I heard that unlocked devices does not support CDMA carriers. I wonder if this applies to TELUS.Someone please give me a clear answer!

No it won't work.  Any unlocked iPhone that you buy is a GSM unlocked phone and will not support CDMA because they are different.
If you want to use a phone with a CDMA carrier, then you need to purchase the phone from either the Apple store and purchase the TELUS version of the phone or go directly to the TELUS store and buy the phone there, but you can't use an unlocked GSM phone on a CDMA network - the two networks are different and don't use the same technology.
