IPhone Confirm Menu?

While playing around with the iPhone SDK and some sample programs. I ran into something I would like to try to implement in a program of mine. Basically I want to ask a user if they " ARE SURE " about a particular action they invoke.
The way I want to do it is the same way that the phone application does it. In the phone app, on the contacts details view ( where you are viewing a contacts details ) If you enter the edit mode and hit DELETE. A menu comes up and it presents the user with two options " Delete Contact " and " Cancel ".
What method is apple using to implement this view? Is it a modal view? or something else. Can someone shed some light on this for me..

Apple software never asks such a question. Apple provides options so that a user feels in charge of their fate, and never as if they are forced to follow but one course of action.
You may wish to understand the logic behind this type of interface before proceeding.

Iphone sync menu - problem syncing from Outlook

When i select "info" tab on my iphone sync menu, and it gives me "sync Contacts" with "Outlook" option and then two additional options are given:
* All contacts
* Selected Groups
However, it will not allow me to pick "Selected Groups" option - instead automatically defaults to "All contacts". How do I de-select "All contact" so that I can pick "Selected Groups" and choose which folders under Outlook I wish to sync? thanks

It has to do with the way Outlook interprets groups versus the way iOS interprets groups, they are different. I don't have all the information here in front of me right now, but will look after I get home. But I believe if you search here, or look over to the right under "More Like This" you may find infomation about it. See if that helps, and again, I will check later and repost.

If you never upgraded to iOS5 then you won't have the option to upgrade your phone "over the air". To do an upgrade, connect your phone to iTunes and select the phone on the left menu bar. You will see an option on the main page to Check for Update. Select that and your phone will update to iOS6.
It is recommended that you do a full backup of your phone before you begin the upgrade process.

Hi! Recently I bought an iPhone which version is 3.1.2. The menu in the phone was gone!!! My phone was like having a black display~ I couldn't see anything on the screen. Sometimes when I press on the Round button to enter Spotlight, one of my downloaded App will appear on the Spitlight although I didn't type anything in the search. It's so weird!!! Is it because of the firmware which I've upgraded? The previous version is 3.1.1. Anyone encounter the same problem as mine? Hope I'm not the only unfortunate one :o(

Hi my menu button on my iPhone 4 has been a bit irresponsive and I've only had the phone for about a month and I never dropped it or anything. Is it possible to get it replaced. Will my warranty cover this?

I am not computer expert it happen to me. I think it is not working for a touch on/ off so you have to push using your finger and hold and open to the right (like when you open a door). That worked for me I call it mannual opening. I did not get any help so I figured out the hard way.Let me know but I am for sure

IPhone audiobook menu help needed!

For anyone who doesn't know what Audible.com is audiobook site with iPod, iTunes friendly audio books for much cheaoer than the iTunes Store options, its a great option for those who like audiobooks but dont want to pay a fortune for them
Anyway, back to my problem, well more of an annoyance. :mad:
So, if I have audible books on my iPod they show up in a category separate from all of the other audiobooks, I want them to all show up together.
Please don't respond with, "what does it matter?" Because it doesn't that much but any help would be appreciated. dosen

This morning on checking with my 2.0.2 updated iPhone...
The Start Playing Where Left Off is only for Video. So, If you want to be able to resume your audible content it looks like you may need to leave them be.
You can however make them available right from the top menu of iPod on your iPhone!
From the main iPod menu, select More, then Edit from the upper left. Drag the Audiobooks icon down over a button that you don't often use... say Video. The icon you are dragging over will glow and once you let go, it will be replaced with the one you are dragging. You audiobooks might not be listed with all of your music, but you can go straight to them on you iPhone!

This has worked the same since Firefox 4.0 was released back in March, when the 2nd Bookmarks button came about.
When you have the Bookmarks Toolbar showing, the Bookmarks button appears on the right-side of the Bookmarks Toolbar. When the user hides the Bookmarks Toolbar, that Bookmarks button automatically moves to the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar - where is appears when the Customize Palette is open. ''(The 1st bookmarks button is sitting in the Customize Palette by default. The 1st button doesn't have the little drop-arrow to the right of the bookmarks button, otherwaise they are identical except for the wording when they're in the Palette.)''
If you want that Bookmarks button to be on the Navigation Toolbar when the Bookmarks Toolbar is being displayed, '''you need to move that button from its default location on the Navigation Toolbar''' when you're in the Customize mode.
That Bookmarks button has special properties that no other Toolbar button has, and it "moves" itself depending on whether or not the Bookmarks Toolbar is set to be displayed.

Iphone mail menu icons

I pressed an unknown button while reading an email on my iPhone and now I can't find the email.
I can't figure out what happened to an email I was reading. I was in the iPhone's email, I was reading the email in it's own window, when I accidentally pressed a cube shaped icon with a down arrow on it. It's located in the middle of the email nav bar on the bottom of the screen. There are 5 icons on the bottom (from left to right) ; reload (a circular arrow) , move to a mailbox (a folder on an angle) , The unknown one I mentioned (cube with a down arrow at the top), reply,forward or email button (arrow pointing to the left), and New message button (box with a pencil going thru it) After pressing it, the email swished away to some unknown location. I even went back to my computer, and the copy there is gone as well.
Please help me figure out what this button does and where it goes!

It's the 'Archive' button. Gmail is one of the mail services that archives your messages instead of deleting them.
If you're using Gmail, go to the 'All Mail' folder and you should see it there.

IPhone screen touch sensors cancelled out over gallery when accordion w/ menu embedded extends over

iPhone 4s screen touch sensors are cancelled out over a gallery when an accordion w/ a menu embedded in it extends over the area. Upon FTP uploading the site, when I load each page from my iPhone the menu extends and then retracts. The area over which the accordian panel with the menu in it extends loses the touch sensitivity. I learned this when I had a gallery at the top of the page. Swiping left or right only continues to work bellow where the accordian extended to before retracting. And although activating the "Light box" works, the light box itself becomes an empty spot on the screen because it's invisible from my phone. Either I can place the Light box at the top of the screen under the banner and menu or at the bottom. Either way, it looks like a blank spot from my phone.
Please fix these features.

After almost 2 days of ICS, here's another update:
CONS:
No notification on lockscreen. The heck important is that.
Calendar widget not even showing the next event.
Lag on Facebook, or even other social media apps while typing something.
SYSTEM UI IS NOT RESPONDING. I almost gone in that moment, where I did a quick Settings Reset after reboot. This is a major con, Sony.
Swiping up and down with many items is now unresponsive, sometimes stopping quickly at a certain point.
PROS:
Bloatwares can now be disabled, or even uninstalled in Apps Settings. I tried to remove What's App, appXtra, and UEFA.com bloatwares, and now it's gone. Let's Golf HD can now be disabled.

No can do! You will need to take your MBP to your local AS or an AASP. Your MBP needs to be physically examined to confirm what is wrong w/it since your dropped it.
NOTE: Apple Care nor the standard warranty does not cover accidental damage. You will be responsible for the repair costs (which are usually more than the cost of the computer).
The good news:
If you have homeowners or rental coverage check w/them. Most policies cover accidental damage.
If you purchased your computer w/a credit card, check w/them also. You just may be covered.

.m4r files sync but don't appear AND outlook contacts won't add to iphone?

hi guys,
This is my first post, made just a day after I got my iphone.
Now don't get me wrong, i love the iphone, but i'm worried i might have to send it back due to 2 glitches:
1) I exported all my contacts onto my computer from my old k800i, then imported them into contacts on outlook. Then I synced my iphone to outlook through itunes and it appears to be doing something on the itunes bar only for me to open my phone when it's done and the contact list is empty. It's synced the calender and itunes music thought.
2) I sent some ringtones to my friend who has a mac (I have a PC) and he changed them to .m4r files on that garage program on the mac, then he sent them back, i dragged them into the ringtone folder and they appeared. I went on itunes and they appear in the iphone tone menu, i sync with the actual phone and after saying it's done they don't appear in the tone menu on the phone.
That's 2 annoying things, do I need to send it back?
Any help would be great, thanks for your time.

Please follow the steps below to make sure the reminders have been enabled in Outlook:
On the File tab, click Options.
Select Advanced in the Outlook Options dialog box.
In the Reminders section, select Show reminders.
Click OK.
