IPhone Could Not Be Activated
My iPhone 5 randomly requested activation after already being activated to the canadian network sasktel. After trying to activate via wifi this is the message stated on the phone:Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavaliable. Try connecting to itunes ot activate or wait a couple minutes. Here is what is stated on iTunes: The software on the iphone has expired and must be updated to a newer version. Now of course when i go to restore it says:Theres a problem downloading the software to (Halle's iPhone) The source cannot be found. The phone was on the beta of ios 7 and has been continuously updated until out of beta and to my knowledge is currently on ios 7.0.1 (it tells me it is up to date.)
Please help!

I been trying for a few times now and I keep getting the same message. How can i fix it? now my phone doesnt work. These are the steps mentioned in the article iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance. -

i bought an iphone 3g but not in a shop and when i turn it on it tells me your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is unavailable what can i do to just have it working legit ?? , please anyone that could help me out
Generally, that means the phone has been jailbroken (hacked). You can try restoring it as new using iTunes. Beyond that, there's really nothing we can advise as jailbroken phones can't be supported on these forums.

My iPhone says 'your iPhone could not be activated...'
I previosly had some issues with my iphone because i got it second hand from my auntie in america and when i restored it, it got locked to my mum took it to get unlocked and im pretty sure they did it unoficialy. So a few days ago i tried to upgrade it and now my iPhone says 'your iPhone could not be activated because the server is currently unavailible...' and when i go on itunes it says i have no sim card in it but i do (an o2 but then i got an AT&T one and it still says that) what should i do? (and please dont say buy a new one or there's nothing you can do)
Your phone is locked to a carrier (most likely to AT&T). Updating the iOS usually removes the unlock (hacked one) and the phone gets locked to the carrier it was originally locked to. Contact your carrier (AT&T) who is solely authorized to unlock the phone.

I have a new device. When selecting the language and country I am trying to connect to a wifi connection and getting the error 'Your Iphone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting to your Iphone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes.
Where exactly did you get this phone?
Do you have a SIM in the phone?
There are 2 primary causes for this.
Either you don't have a SIM in the phone, which is REQUIRED to activate it, or the phone was hacked to unlock it. -
how to configure my 3gs iphone? it says your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable......
i live in iran. this 3gs was a gift from america .. it contains NOTHING. i can do nothing with it. it cannot be updated cuz the version is low. i dunno what t do please help.Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
5. The phone was reported stolen. If it was it can never be activated again.
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer. -
this is the message i am getting:
Your iPhone could not be activated because the Activation Server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes. If this problem persists, contact Apple Support at apple.com/support
nothing i can do to it
looked on forums, can't get to anything (flight mode, etc, etc)This usually happens if the phone has been Hacked / Jailbroken / Modified...
If this is the case... Then...

My iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporary unvailable
Iphone5 ios7.1.2
my iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporary unvailableYou will not be able to activate that iPhone due to the jailbreak. A restore
may erase the jailbreak, but the restore may not remove all the damage
done by the jailbreak. The iPhone is most likely locked to a US wireless provider.
If that is the case, you or your friend must work with that US provider to
see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.

iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable many time
Your antivirus or firewall may be blocking access to Apple's activation server at gs.apple.com.
If you have ever used your computer to hack or jailbreak any iOS device at any time in the past your network database on your computer is corrupted. Open the hosts file and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com.
Mac: /etc/hosts
Windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
It is a hidden file, so you will have to set your file explorer to show hidden files. -

HT201412 Iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable
my new iphone 4s first time when i tried to connect trew Itunes its shows the below message
Your iphone could not be activated because the activationserveris temporarily unavailable.try connecting your iphone to itunesto activate it , or try again in couple of minutes.
if this problem persists,contact applesupport
2. sorr,we are unable to continue with your activationat this time(please try again later,or contact customer care)
please help me resolve my brand new iphoneThere are four primary causes of the activation error:
The activation server is unavailable. Rare, but it happens. Usually fixed within minutes.
Your antivirus or firewall (or your router's firewall) is blocking access to the domain gs.apple.com on ports 80 and 443.
Your phone is jailbroken.
Your phone isn't jailbroken, but the computer you are connected to during the restore or update was used to hack or jailbreak some other iOS device, and its network database was corrupted in the process.
Perhaps this will provide you some clues as to how to proceed. If your iPhone has not been jailbroken, Apple has some troubleshooting suggestions here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3424
If your iPhone has been jailbroken, you're on your own. We can provide no assistance for jailbroken devices in these forums.
