IPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start
Received the error multiple times.
Decided to retore from backup
Apple reintialtized phone to factory specs... BUT when it tried to restore backup...
you guessed it... "could not be synced because the sync session failed to start...
APPLE leaves me in the gap again... so, does anyone know about this problem and what the fix may be?
I appreciate any... and all help I can get on this.

Try rebooting the computer and starting iTunes over again.

To make things wors yesterday iphone was stoped i shutdown it and when i try to turn On the apple appears for a 30 sec then disappear... and again apple appears and for 30 sec disappear...So to fix this problem i need to do restore but i cant becouse i get the error.

Eitherway, I would follow http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275 for a possible solution as these steps may not work. -
I am trying to update my Iphone 3 and when i get to the activation step after a few minutes it shows a message that says " Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. i bought an iphone 3g but not in a shop and when i turn it on it tells me your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is unavailable what can i do to just have it working legit ?? , please anyone that could help me out
Generally, that means the phone has been jailbroken (hacked). You can try restoring it as new using iTunes. Beyond that, there's really nothing we can advise as jailbroken phones can't be supported on these forums.

I have a new device. When selecting the language and country I am trying to connect to a wifi connection and getting the error 'Your Iphone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting to your Iphone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes.
Where exactly did you get this phone?
Do you have a SIM in the phone?
There are 2 primary causes for this.
Either you don't have a SIM in the phone, which is REQUIRED to activate it, or the phone was hacked to unlock it. -

i live in iran. this 3gs was a gift from america .. it contains NOTHING. i can do nothing with it. it cannot be updated cuz the version is low. i dunno what t do please help.Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
5. The phone was reported stolen. If it was it can never be activated again.
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer. -

Your antivirus or firewall may be blocking access to Apple's activation server at gs.apple.com.
If you have ever used your computer to hack or jailbreak any iOS device at any time in the past your network database on your computer is corrupted. Open the hosts file and delete any lines that contain gs.apple.com.
Mac: /etc/hosts
Windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
It is a hidden file, so you will have to set your file explorer to show hidden files. -
