Iphone cox and outlook

I recently set up my iphone with gmail grabbing my cox.net address using this topic here
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1346770&tstart=0
KJG73 made the post explaining how to accomplish this and for my iphone it has worked perfectly. Ever since I have set this up my outlook has not been working properly, asking for authentication passwords on my outgoing server and will not keep the one I have inputed in the outlook setup
Also, I cannot be using my phone for checking and sending mail on both my iphone and outlook. This doesn't happen very often but the error does say that another session is in use.
Further, I just had a total collapse and I logged into gmail online and it was asking for the anti-spam password again as it does the first time when you log on. I logged in and it fixed the problem, will this continue to happen?
thanks for your help
Further,

I ended up exporting all the outlook data to CSV, creating a new PST and reimporting the data. Calendar sync now works, but I sure do hope I don't have to redo this every week.

Hoping for some help with a very frustrating issue!
I have been syncing calendar and contacts on my iPhone 5 and Outlook 2007 using iCloud  2.1.3 (my PC is running Vista). All was well until the events I entered on the phone were showing up in Outlook, but not the other way around. I’ve tried the usual recommended steps: deselecting calendar and contacts in the iCloud control panel and then re-selecting, signing out of the panel and back in, and repairing the Outlook installation in control panel.  I even uninstalled iCloud on the PC and downloaded it again (same version).
The furthest I’ve gotten is step 2 (and once, step 3) of 7 while performing “Outlook Setup For iCloud.” At that point I get, “Your setup couldn’t be started because of an unexpected error.”  After the first attempt at all this, all my calendar events disappeared from Outlook, although they are still in iCloud calendar and on my phone.
Sound familiar?  Any ideas on how to solve this iCloud/Outlook issue?  Thanks much in advance!

  • How do I wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1

How do I set up my devices to wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1?

    Hey bwind,
You will want to first create an iCloud account, if you haven’t already:

Next, sign in to that iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad, and turn on the syncing for notes:

Then you will want to download the iCloud Control Panel for Windows:
iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows

You will find your notes in their own section on Outlook:
    iCloud: Notes overview

On your Windows computer, your changes are pushed to Microsoft Outlook in the Notes folder of your iCloud email account. You can see your iCloud notes by expanding your iCloud email account in the Outlook folder pane (also called the navigation pane), then selecting the Notes folder in the email account.

I am having multiple issues with syncing my iphone calendar and outlook calendar on my laptop
I mostly enter the original items on my laptop
There are often 1 hour time differences in the entries on the 2 devices and sometimes events that have been amended are not updated on iphone

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Iphone 5 and outlook 2013 (windows 8).

Can sync contacts fine but not calendar.  Tried all the suggestions on the threads read to date and nothing works.  If anyone has actually made this work can you please let me know the specific setting on the iphone and outlook to make this work.  thanks

Hi. I have done some research in this case. I have installed a “clean” Outlook 2013 on my PC using Win7/64-bit. Then I installed a “clean” iTunes v.11.0.2.26/64-bit. After this installation, I also had some problems in synchronizing elements from my “new” Outlook to my iTunes/iPhone
      I recommend the following:
iTunes have to know what is your standard files in Outlook (just as CameronN described in January 2013). In Outlook – set “File > Account Settings > Account Settings... > Data Files tab > select (highlight) the desired data file, click on the 'Set as Default' menu button.”
iTunes only synchronized calendar elements from the Outlook folder called \\Outlook\Calendar (to see this folder - use “folder view” in Outlook). If Calendar Elements are archived in the Outlook-folder called \\Outlook (and viewed as an ordinary calendar in Outlook) iTunes will not synchronized elements from this folder. And if the folder \\Outlook\Calendar doesn’t exist iTunes establish one during the connection/setup/synchronization of iPhone and iTunes. And since the “new” \\Outlook\Calendar is empty iTunes synchronize an empty calendar, and then the existing calendar on the iPhone is wiped out. The “temporary” solution is to copy all Calendar Elements from any Outlook-folder (e.g. \\Outlook) to \\Outlook\Calendar, and then synchronize iPhone with iTunes/Outlook 2013.
      To Apple:
I consider this as a problem in iTunes. iTunes can only synchronize Calendar Elements in \\Outlook\Calendar – not in \\Outlook. Even if I force iTunes to use Calendar Elements in \\Outlook iTunes can’t see or will not fetch any Calendar Elements from this Outlook-folder.
Please restructure (the “hard coded”) iTunes, and release a fix of iTunes which support Outlook 2013/iTunes to synchronized Calendar Elements from any Calendar folder in Outlook 2013.
And please do a QA of other modules in iTunes which may create similar problems during synchronizing of other type of elements in Outlook 2013.
    Kind Regards

  • HELP!  Iphone 4S and Outlook 2007

I have outlook 2007 and an iphone 4s and here are a few issues:
    1) I can delete messages on my phone and they will delete on my outlook, however if I delete on my outlook it won't delete on my phone.
    2) If I put an event in my outlook calendar it will sync to my phone but not from my phone to my outlook.
    3) My contacts won't sync at all...either way.
Frustrated and looking for help, thanks.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud.  - this does not work as it is not an icloud account it is a microsoft exchange account
If notes are not syncing from Outlook, verify that you do not have any notes with no content or subject in Outlook. These notes can prevent Outlook from syncing as expected; removing them or adding a subject should allow syncing to resume.  - this does not apply to my issue

  • Has anyone seen the quirk with iphones, yahoomail and outlook?

Here's the situation - and not really documented that I can find - I am interested in anyone's solution and if it spills over to apple computers with outlook as well.. I have a friend with a Dell desktop, Outlook 2007, and an iphone. She has att.net as a provider and uses their yahoomail. She has one primary and two secondary email addresses with att.net. She was getting repeated internet explorer errors (IE would close and reopne) and her Outlook client would indicate "communication error". Previously I noted - when installing her new PC and importing her pst file that we could not have her iphone on if we wanted to delete anything in outlook. That was maybe 8 months ago.. so when the errors weren't going away, we narrowed the issue down to the iphone being connected to email at the same time outlook was syncing - IE would crash, and outlook would kick out errors for the primary account. I am only guessing but I am thinking that for pop access, with att.net at least, one can only be accessing the user db once at any time, there perhaps is a file lock.. We turn off the iphone, no issue. Turn back on- and connected to email - issue... Thoughts? Experiences? Thank you in advance.. spit

    Steve,
I think your post #11 was being sarcastic, but you left a little wiggle room for it not to be. With the sarcastic interpretation, I must add my thoughts:
Here is the link to the Adobe bug report form
. It is important that users who discover bugs with reproducible steps file them - otherwise they don't stand a chance of ever getting fixed. Steven Gotz's advice was sound in this regard.
As to the discussion of workarounds - since this is a User-to-User forum, the best that we as a community can do is help each other out with workarounds, since none of us here have the power to actually fix anything.
The important thing to glean from SG's post is the definite need to file a bug report.

  • Outlook Multiday/Recurring meetings move to the next day on iPhone/iPad and Outlook for MAC.

Exchange 2010 environment.  Outlook 2007 and 2010 on Windows desktops.  Multiple day appointments or recurring meetings in Outlook do not appear on the iPhone, iPad or Outlook for MAC with the same date.  They are all moved forward to the next day.  Single day or non-recurring meetings are synced correctly.  Not finding much on this.  All users affected with these devices.

i have the exact same situation... called Apple Care and they were no help without the $29 incident plan... hoping for a solution before i go that route

  • IPhone 3G and Outlook 2007 sync Vista x64

    Hi,
I pre-ordered two iPhone 3G a week ago (still not received them) and then went online to read user opinions about it. and, honestly, the scared me.
First, battery life. I'm Samsung SCH-i760 (Verizon) smartphone user and I'm pretty happy with it. With small battery it last the whole day - some browsing, some phone calls and some software which I have installed on it like my database application which syncs with my PC (CodeWallet). I red that iPhone 3G should be charged at least twice a day otherwise you'll risk to stay without it in the afternoon.
    and
Second, most important for business-oriented user like me - I'm Outlook-addicted and use it all the time for contacts, tasks and appointments, and I do it on both smartphone and my PC with Vista 64-bit.
So my question is does anybody tested it on Vista x64? Does the Outlook problem with sync exists on this OS version also? Although MS Office 2007 is 32-bit application it work on 64-bit OS and uses different drivers/application to communicate with devices. I simply cannot spent days playing with issues like this....and will stay probably with my existing provider (Samsung is Windows Mobile 6 device and there is no problems sync anything with any Windows).
    Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help with Outlook 2007 although I use MS Exchange with Outlook 2003 SP3 with not troubles.
You cannot save files to the iPhone and I wouldn't expect this in the new 3.0 firmware. There are several apps that allow you to save/access files from your home computer or a cloud server. I use Box.net.
