IPhone crashed during iOS5 update. iTunes crashed and cant open or uninstall. Please help
iPhone 4 crashed and dumped everything while trying to update to iOS5. Now iTunes won't open so I tried to run Apple Software Update... gets half way through the install and then i get an error... cant find fold containing the installation package 'AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi'.
I'm at a loss and need help getting iTunes back up and running so I can restore my iPhone.

I am too trying to update my phone. i wish i hadnt now as its more hassle than its worth!
I have been trying for 2 hours and on hold to Apple to try and get my iPhone 4 to restore. I did back up before I installed it but whether it picks that one up is another question.
I have had the same problem before when i got a replacement phone from Apple and it took an hour or so to work.
I wish it would get sorted out as im an angry customer that is losing her patience fast!

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode since I tried a restore Before that it kept powering on and powering off eratically and lingered on the white apple screen. I thought an install would help. Retore attempts always fail, I get the message "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (9)." Please help me!
Would it make any difference if the restore was to a back up or to factory settings?
Yes, if your backup is somehow corrupted, restoring to that backup will put the problem back to the iPhone.
Restore as new and manually put back your content is the preferred method.
Also the restore cuts out and fails when the restore is at the stage of 'verifying with apple'. Is there any reason apple wouldn't 'authorise' a restore?
When restoring, the IOS will be verified with Apple server.
Are you using PC? If so, disable anti-virus and firewall then try again. -
I cant dowload the itunes i use win 7 with 64 op i get all thge way through then at the last step HRESULT:0x800736FD shows up and cant go any further. please help

Divx and other media related plugins always crash and/or no longer work, please help
Why is nothing of divx seems to work anymore? Every time i try to watch a video online using a divx site or site that uses a divx player, i get the message
"divx plus web player pluging has cashed, send crash report"
I send it - then am offered the option to reload the page once reloaded a press play the player then says connecting and then crashes again!!!

None of the divx plugins are recognised anymore and the divx web player add on is marked as incompatible, and there is not an option to enable it! im using windows vista home basic 32-bit operating system, & the new version of firefox.
Its really annoying that these extensions and plugins no longer work crash and/or are no longer recognised espcially considering firefox insisted we upgrade for security issue etc and that 3.6 wont be kept up to date any more, I want reinstall the 3.6 version but am worried about security issues now.
will the divx plugin and addon/extension be added to this new version anytime soon if not what can i do to enable me to watch videos without the plugin crashing ? Prior to the constant updating of Firefox I was able to watch movies from Stagevu and Veehd and now because of the new Firefox I cannot watch any movies. I also tried the VLC plugin and that constantly crashes as well as the DivX Web Player. I read so many complaints and no one from Firefox or any of the other browser is giving any of their constituents or customers whatever you want to call us any solutions to the problem and I am beginning to get a little frustrated. I have tried all of the other browsers like the Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and I still come up with the same problem.

IPhone apps won't update, iTunes Store won't open
I can't figure out why my apps won't update on my iPhone. I have rebooted, deleted the apps that wouldn't update and froze (waiting) and rebooted after that. I may not have the greatest wifi connection ... I am out of town and dependent on hotel/convention center wifi. Went to App Store to reload the deleted apps (some), but same thing. I saw a response regarding iTunes, went there...took forever for iTunes to open, it kept stating I couldn't access iTunes Store, and after hitting "okay" probably 4 times to confirm that iTunes wouldn't open...it did. So I thought that was the problem and returned back to App Store and tried to reload just one app. Well it's been an hour and a half or more, can't reload it. It creeps along and I thought the app was loaded, but no. I can reboot only, not reset because I am no in home like I said. This is more than "fairly frustrating". What the heck can I do?
Do a hard reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and home button together until apple logo appears.

I need to update my iTunes and my iPhone 3GS to the latest version and evertimes I click on "update" I get the following error message displayed - "cannot open URL". I have checked the permissions on my windows firewall and iTunes is not blocked. I have updated my iPad and lost everything because my only option on iTunes was to update and restore. The update was very strange because I pressed install, I had enough space for the update and I agreed to the terms and conditions. My iPad turned to a black page with a picture of connecting to iTunes, I couldn't get it off my screen even when I plugged it into iTunes. to update and restore my iPad was my only option and if I plugged my iPad out my screen would still say plug into iTunes. I haven't backed up my iPad for a few months but I need the most recent stuff on my iPad. I need my iPad for school. How do I fix this? And can Apple do anything to get it back? You should be able to see all your Purchased Music in your iTunes Account and you can download that Music to your iPhone during a Sync. First step look under Purchases in iTunes.

Sure thing bro, no problem. I assume your running Windows 7 or 8? So for me I had to update the iphone drivers.
First, open Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound then devices and printers look for your apple iphone under the "Unspecified Devices" tab, Right click on it, choose properties, after that you'll choose the hardware tab to the right of the box that opens. When you click on hardware, choose properties again toward the bottom. Then you'll choose settings, after that you should see the Driver tab, 2nd one. Click that and choose update driver, then browse my computer for driver software, after that you'll want to navigate to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and click Ok. The driver should update and all should be good after that. Matter of fact, here is the article i used. Good luck dude!!

ITunes 7 is not opening!?Please Help!
This new iTunes 7 is starting to really bug me. My problem is that everytime i try to open my iTunes the program opens for like 2 seconds then automatically closes. I've tried everything from repair in control panel and I even spent an hour on the phone trying to contact a tech but what he gave me was pointless and a waste of time. He emailed me this article "Removing iTunes For Window" and I did all as follows and it still didn't work. Is this a problem happening to anybody or just me? If anyone knows how to help PLEASE HELP!
Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not help, try to access the iTunes Store via the music app, this helped some users. -

Preserving iPhone apps during iOS5 update
I want to get iOS5 for my iPhone 4. When I use iTunes to update , I get the following message:
Updating to iOS 5.0 will delete all of the apps on your iPhone. To preserve your apps, apply this update on the computer where you sync them.
How do I apply the update to the computet?I transfered the purchases to iTunes and backed up my wife's iPhone 4, did the iOS 5 update, restored from the backup, and everything went smoothly.
I followed the same procedure with my iPhone 3Gs and lost ALL saved data of value. It appears the various techniques to roll back to iOS 4 don't work, and the restore isn't working with moving the 3Gs data to my new iPhone 4s.
So at my location, we had a 50% failure rate with the update. The new features for an iPhone 4 are essentially fluff, so I won't risk your data if you have something you want to save until the next service release of iOS 5. If you don't care about any special app data, photos, videos, messages, etc and have the time to re-sort everything back into folders, then go for it. -
Fairly recently I haven't been able to do any downloads off of my firefox client, they fail instantly. I am in desperate need to download my resume, as my resume file is also messed up (been using it for months but now it says its a read-only file), but that's another story. Also, when I normally close my firefox browser, the crash module pops up even though it was closed normally.
I also tried downloading with IE which failed, and saving a screenshot of the problem in paint refuses to save as well.
I built this custom PC this summer, and have just been getting one problem after another, so I would greatly appreciate it if I could get help fixing my firefox browser, as I have strictly been using firefox as my browser for the last 5+ years.
