IPhone crashes Adobe Photoshop Album SE 3.2 on multiple PC's

Whenever I attach my iPhone the Adobe Photo Downloader starts, it see's the pictures and then gives a "Fatal Error" and forces Photoshop Album SE 3.2 to close. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled and ran regedit to get rid of any lingering registry entries (I manage a network of 300+ pc's) and reinstalled and then did a couple of fresh installs on some new Dells I'm deploying, it still crashes... Anyone else have this issue and find a fix?

If the iPhone gets connected as a USB device, i.e. if it shows as a new drive in "My Computer", Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition must be able to download images from it. If that's not the case, as has been already stated, it would be a good idea to copy the images using windows explorer i.e.
1)Connect the iPhone
2)Go to My Computer
3)Browse through the iPhone(which should be displayed as a separate drive) and locate the images folder.
4)Copy the images that are to be transferred.
5)Paste them to the folder on your drive where you want them to be.
6)Now import these images to Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition.

When I try to get pictures from my iphone via Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, it has to close with error C0000005.
I'm disappointed that I have to use 3rd party software to get photos on and off my iphone. I thought Apple made products that were easy to use. Just seems like the same crap from a different manufacturer (can you tell I'm frustrated?). Not to mention all the limitations with the iphone if you actually want to use it for business ....

You don't need to use 3rd party software - iPhoto will do it automatically once you set it up.
Connected your iPhone to your computer. iTunes then opens up. Select your iPhone under Devices, in the left column. Then click the Photos tab in the main window. Check the box that says, "Sync photos from:" Then, iPhoto will open every time you sync. You'll have the option to import the Photos from your phone and you'll be able to chose if the original stays on your phone or is deleted.

  • Adobe Photoshop Album SE 3.2 crashing

    Hello everybody.
I'm facing a weird and huge problem: since switching from 3Gs to iPhone 4, when trying to import pictures into PS Album SE 3.2, this software crashes.
After googling a bit, I read about many people facing the same problem. Some of them upgraded to Adobe Photoshop Elements, but still the problem persists.
No real solution has been found, therefore I'm asking here for some help. It doesn't matter to me if I would have to switch to another software, the main goal is to be able to import pictures and still to have a similar way of viewing them as in PS Album or PS Elements.
Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

  • Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2  gives error when plugging in iPhone 3G

So, I plug my iPhone iunto my laptop... iTunes opens... Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2 starts up to backup/transfer photos... and then I get:
    Fatal Error
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    Error code: c0000005
    Address: 7c911895
Tried dowbloading app again... didn't help.
    HELP!  Thanks

I have a similar problem with my new iphone 4, but I never had the problem with my previous iphone 3g.
Your post seems promising. However, you say ''right click on the APD icon in the system tray (it must be resembling a small camera) and select disable''. Unfortunatlely I don't know where to find '' the system tray''. Control Panel has a system folder but I can't find any access to an icon resembling a camera. Also, I am used to using Adobe Photoshop downloader. Since it worked with my previous iphone, can't it be made to work with the iphone 4?

Two days ago I introduced photos of my baby into my PC and automatically went into the programm Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Then they were deleted of my photo camera. Then I wanted to access to the photos in the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 but I read that since the end of Juny we need a decodification code and that now it is not availabel. So I don't have this code and I need to access to the photos. Please, somebody can help me?. Thank you.

Thank you for your help, Gunjan, but I have already tried to contact adobe tech support and I cannot get a code still now. I just find fixed issues where there is not shown my problem and I cannot find the way to write my question about my need of a code for Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Could you or somebody tell me the way to get the code through adobe.

  • Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0, migrate to iPhoto?

After 20 years owning PCs, I bought my first Mac. I have about 13,000 photos cataloged in Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to preserve my organization in iPhoto (or even if it's possible).
Photoshop Album uses an external database that permits hierarchies, like Places - MD_MontgomeryCo - Rockville eg. I probably have 30 or 40 counties, some with as many as 100 locations.
I don't think keywords are quite the same, although organizing by album might help. I've downloaded Keyword Assistant from a Mr. Ferry iirc, and that makes keywords much more manageable. But I can't imagine tagging to create anything like my hierarchy of places.
    Any thoughts or experience?
Oh, and how do you change the headings that seem to be automagically applied to each new batch of imported files?
    best, Jon Angel

I have exactly the same problem - except I haven't got my new MacBook yet
I have been doing some research, though, and the chances of getting the tagging out of PSA 2.0 seem very small ...
However, I have found three theoretical possibilities.
    1) I have tried the first steps of this 'solution' without any success, but I will mention it anyway, perhaps you are more lucky: There is a PC based photo cataloging application called IMatch (http://www.photools.com/). For this application someone has created a set of scripts, the first of which is capable of extracting the PSA 2.0 catalog into a plain text file (http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/flow-catalog-imatch.html). I have been unable to make this work, but if you succeed, a second script (mentioned on the above website) should be able to import the tags into IMatch. As I understand, IMatch is capable of embedding the tags as IPTC keywords in the image files. I guess you could use a free trial version of IMatch for this operation, and if you should get this far, it should be possible to import the IPTC keywords info into iPhoto with this script (http://scriptbuilders.net/files/iphotoiptckeywordimportexportutilities1.0.1.html). Well, this was all theory, but maybe it could be useful ...
    2) A second possibility is, that PSA 2.0 stores its caption in the EXIF Description field. Assuming you don't use the caption in PSA 2.0, you could go through your catalog one tag after another and write each tag into the captions of all the images, it is attached to. If it's possible to search in the EXIF Description feld in iPhoto, you could reverse the process when you have imported the images into iPhoto.
    3) Newer versions of PSA (called Photoshop Elements) exist for the Mac. I guess they must be able to import from older versions of PSA, but I don't know.
I don't know if this is of any use, but I just wanted to share my own thougts of this process.

  • Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer catalog conversion

I'm having trouble converting Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 catalog to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer.  I get a Conversion Failed error which tells me to repair with the program that created it.  I have tried several things including deleting all .avi files from the catalog, deleting references to missing files and backing up then trying to convert from an external HD.  I'm running Vista Home Premium on a HP laptop.  The Organizer optimize and repair don't seem to help in this case.
Does anyone have any history with this or advice?

Please refer to following KB article which deals with catalog conversion failures:-

  • Adobe Photoshop Album v.2 - Can I restore from thumbnails only?

I am a complete IT donut.  I do not know the terminology and I'm not even sure I am on the right thread!!!!!.  But here goes if anyone thinks they can help.
I have Adobe Photoshop Album v2.0 that I have been keeping photographs on.  Someone who shall remain nameless deleted a file which has meant that some of the older photos have lost what can only be described as the 'back up' to the photo - if that makes sense.  We can see it as a thumnail (with a small legend depicting that it is "broken") but when we double click on it the computer browses for a file that it cannot find - obviously.
Is it possible to restore the photo using just the information that the computer has kept in order to generate the thumbnail?  There is no way we can restore the information that was lost as its years ago, but just wondered if anyone knew of a way to do this.
I know this is probably a lost cause, but thanks for your time anyway.

All that is stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file is a small thumbnail, which is better than nothing,I suppose. But we don't have any tools that would allow you to harvest even the thumbnails out of the catalog file. The catalog file is an MS Access database; if you could find a tool to crack open and rip out the resources, then you would have what you want, but I wouldn't be able to tell you step 1 on how to do that; just that it should be theoretically possible.
    Good Luck!

  • How to View PDF slideshow created with Adobe Photoshop Album?

Many years ago during the Windows ME era, I created several short PDF slideshows with software (Adobe Photoshop Album) that included audio.  I saved them to a flashdrive.  I believe I used Adobe Reader 7 to play them years ago.  I am now running Windows 7 and attempted to open/play the videos and all I could see is the individual slides with no audio.  Is there a way to view these slideshows with audio today?  Some of them have special meaning and I would appreciate any assistance on how to view them once again.

Hi there! Because the forum you originally posted in is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I moved your question to the Photoshop Ablum Starter Edition forum, where you'll get more specialized help.

  • Problem mit Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 S.E.

    Hallo,

  • Move photos from old PC running Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition, to new PC running Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.

    Hello,
My old PC (Windows XP) has 8500+ photos with loads of tags attached using Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition.
I'm trying to move all photos, and tags, to my new PC (Windows 7) . I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 on my new PC.
All photos have been copied from the hard disk on the old PC to the hard disk on the new PC.
But how do I move the database/tag information between the old and new PC / between' Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition' and 'Photoshop Elements 8'?
All help is highly appreciated, as I really don't want to add all this valuable tag information manually...

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
All tags are correct, but PSE automatically reconnected only approx 5000 of the approx 8500 pictures (the picture directory has been changed)
See this FAQ for how to beat the Reconnect command into submission:
