IPhone Crashes Windows

Hi,
I am having a problem that I would like to know if other people are experiancing. If I have taken pictures with my iPhone's camera, when I go to plug it into the computer windows trys to intall a "Digital Still Camera" driver and then my computer crashes with a Blue Screen of Death. My soultution right now is to not have any pictures in the "Camera Roll" but I know I will want to take pictures eventually.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

I normally use picasa, but nothing is set up to go automatically. Picasa does have a taskbar icon called "Media Detector," I disabled it but it is still crashed just like always. I do not think that it is a program. My computer is on a domain so it boots up to the login screen. If you let it sit for a second, while the hard drive is working furiously, it will crash just as if you had logged in. I tried booting in safemode and had no problems, I plugged in the iphone and the driver installed fine. I am kind of clueless on what to do?

  • Restore iMessages after iPhone crash from iPad

Can I restore my iMessages from my iPad to my iPhone?
My iPhone crashed during the latest operating system update and I had to restore my phone to my last back up, which was unfortunately 2 months ago.
My iMessages are synced between my iPad and iPhone so all my messages are still on my iPad.  Any recommendations on how I can bring those messages from my iPad to my iPhone?

    Welcome to the forums!
    Your backups are stored here:
    On a Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    On Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    On Windows Vista: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Your itunes library is located here:
    Microsoft Windows
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml
Replace the files on your new computer with the backups you recovered. Place your iphone backup in the proper location.
Authorize your new computer, store>authorize this computer.
Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected in itunes under preferences.
Make sure you have at least one contact and one calendar event in what ever program you use for that purpose on your pc.
You need to transfer any photos on your phone to your new pc before you sync.
When you connect your phone, select restore from backup & select the backup you placed on your computer. Make sure you have at least one contact and one calendar event in whatever programs on your pc you use for that purpose. At the prompt, when you sync, select merge data.

You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone.  This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab.  Whatever is selected will be on your iphone.  Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync.

  • ITunes 9.2.1 doesn't recognise my iPhone 3G (Windows 7 64-bit)

    Hi there
I recently upgraded to iTunes 9.2.1 and the software no longer recgnises my iPhone. Windows does recognise the phone, but it doesn't show in Devices on iTunes. I've tried all the tips on the Apple website several times now (uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, rebooting, removing all apple products) but nothing works.
It worked fine before I upgraded to iTunes 9 and incidentally my iPod shows up fine. Please help I can't sync my music, calendar or contacts.

I had the same problem at first install. My phone, once plugged in, was not being recognized by either window or iTunes. Same OS and same version. I tried switch USB ports and had no luck. Finally I changed USB cables and for some reason that fixed it. It finally allowed the update of the drivers to kick in and then my iPhone be recognized.
I am not sure if this will help or not but you might give it a shot. Please note that the first cable that would not recognize at first was a 3rd party and once I grabbed a new cable to try it was a apple specific.

The EXACT same thing is happening to me. My phone is brand new, so the fact that I can't activate it due to this problem is really frustrating. I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times, followed apple's instructions in its problem solvers guide...nothing seems to work. I've messed around with the drivers a bit too, with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?
Go to the Event Viewer (Control Panel || Administrative Tools || Event Viewer) and look under Windows Logs || Application. Do you see any Bonjour errors? Since Windows 7 recognizes the camera part of the iPhone (nicely done Win7 integration!) Microsoft is probably not the culprit here.
Uninstall/reinstall iTunes is part of the process, but you also have to make sure you uninstall all the other components Apple installs (Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour for Windows, QuickTime), do a reboot, and then install everything from scratch. That may fix the problem.
This is exactly what an Apple guy talked me through over the phone. (I think I even uninstalled Apple Software Updater) I had a similar problem with the iPad on Win7 x64 - it was Bonjour that is the culprit. The x64 flavor of Bonjour for Windows is not as stable as the 32-bit version.
But everything has been golden for me since the reinstall...
    Give that a try.
Then if not, you could start looking to see if there is another ZeroConf/SSDP provider that is conflicting with Apple's somehow.

(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

  • Iphone and Windows 7

I have no trouble with itunes. I had no trouble seeing and connecting both laptop and iphone with VISTA.
In Windows 7 the laptop pairs with the iphone fine but will not connect with it.
I have gone into network settings and it just will not connect. I have the exclamation mark in device manager but i had that in vista as well.
Can anyone connect with Iphone in Windows 7 to use the laptop speakers etc.
    Thanks for any help.

I have only noticed the iPhone being the primary speaker when I connected any BT tongle to my computer and not the other way around. You can attach a 2.5mm cord to the PC and iPhone and that will work, but to make the iPhone play into the Sony via BT I don't recall there being a way.
You can purchase a BT Stereo Headphones deal and hook up a BT dongle to the PC and pair both the PC and iPhone and it will work that way. Only problem is only one device per headset can be used at once.

  • HT201302 how do i upload specific pictures from iphone to windows 7?

i only want 300 of my 1,000 pictures, but when i plug my iphone in, it automatically downloads all of them. is there somewhere i can select the specific pictures i want from my iphone onto my computer?
    iphone 4s -> Windows 7

In iTunes. When the device is connected to the computer and iTunes, select the phone and go to the Photos tab. Select the folder you want to sync to the iPhone. I suggest creating a folder specifically for syncing photos to the phone, then select that folder. Once you pick something different than all of the photos, the ones you do not want will be removed and just the ones you want will be synced. • BootCamp drivers crash Windows 7, slow startup, boot order?, backup drive

I have 3 issues that may be related or possibly not related to each other. I use an iMac (currently with Leopard 10.5.8 on a completely clean installation of both Leopard and Windows 7 on a freshly formatted and partitioned drive).
    Issues:
    1. Before reformatting and installing Leopard and Windows 7, I tried to install Snow Leopard and then Snow Leopard Bootcamp drivers into Windows 7. This crashed Windows 7.
    2. Slow startup of Windows 7 - Drivers needed?
    3. Firewire backup drive never re-mounts after using WIndows and then going back to OS X.
    *Details of issues*:
In the past, before I completely re-installed Leopard 10.5.8 with a new Windows 7, with this same pair of operating systems, I always had a slow startup of Windows 7 on Boot Camp. Sometimes this would take up to 6 minutes to completely open Windows 7. The "Starting Windows" message would appear usually soon, but it would tale a very long time before the Windows logo Flag would appear. The slow startup still continues, even after a complete reinstallation of these on a freshly re-formatted and re-partitioned hard drive (This re-installation was done for reasons shown below).
For a long while I have thought that because I had never installed any BootCamp drivers into Windows 7, then it might start better if I were to install the BootCamp drivers from an installation disk. Thus when I the other day briefly upgraded to Snow Leopard, this time I went ahead while operating under Windows 7 to install into my already existing Windows 7 the set of Boot Camp drivers from the Snow Leopard installation disk. The installation seemed to go well, but it then hung up and never continued when it tried to install the Intel chipset driver. An an hour had passed with no further progress. Thus I force-shutdown the computer, and Windows then never opened until I restarted under safe mode. After that when I would restart Windows 7 "normally", I found also that the Apple wireless keyboard under BootCamp no longer was recognized. The "normal" slow booting of Windows 7 still remained.
Because of I was not sure just what all might have been messed up, and because I am waiting for new versions of several programs that I use to be made as versions compatible with Snow Leopard, I reformatted the complete drive (Both partitions were merged into 1), and then I reinstalled Leopard on a freshly prepared drive, followed by newly installing Windows 7 on a new BootCamp partition. Both systems were fresh installs on a freshly prepared drive and partitions. These were not from clones of the previous installations. This time I did not try to install any drivers from the Leopard disk. The slow booting of Windows 7 continues.
Things I have suspected might cause the slow booting:
    1. Boot order of the Windows partition may be set to look for a CD-ROM before booting from the Windows 7 on the BootCamp Partition. To solve this, I have tried to open the BIOS on startup of Windows 7 in order to set the boot order. I am not sure which function key to press, but in trying several, I have gotten a DOS screen that shows Windows 7 as an option, but nothing else. When I select "Advanced", I get a list that includes "Safe Mode", "Boot Logging", and other items, but not anything for boot order.
    2. The drivers for BootCamp might not yet be made for Windows 7, and I need to wait until these are so that these can be installed. After such, then maybe the slow startup might be fixed?
    3. Possibly my Firewire backup drive interferes (permanently?) with the Windows startup process, because after I use Windows and then go back to OS X, the backup drive (Maxtor OneTouch III firewire drive) will not load on the MacIntosh desktop until I unplug the firewire from both the computer and the Maxtor drive and unplug the power cable to the backup drive, followed by replugging all of this in. (Note: The backup drive is formatted for Macintosh and is never seen as a drive in "My Computer" or in "Network Places" when I operate Windows 7).
Are you able to help/ Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Wilson

    Extra comments;
I also tried the following, which did not fix the startup (*Once up, Windows works well!*):
    1. Checked for file and disk errors (ckdsk?? on startup).
    2. Purged temporary internet and other temporary files (using internet options and disk cleanup utilities)
    3. Cleared out Prefetch files.
    4. Emptied trash.
    5. Under "msconfig", I found 4 items there as startup items. I disabled Adobe Reader and Quicktime helpers, leaving only thus 2 startup items of the 4 enabled (Bulldog and some Microsoft thing).
    6. Defragmented.
    No better results.
    Sincerely,
    Wilson
