Iphone custom colors were syncing, now not

i've read all the posts about the workarounds, etc with syncing iphone/mobileme calendars and not being able to assign colors. however, the custom colors that i had created in ical were created properly on iphone. i had to reset iphone, and now they're in they're not syncing.
i've reset sync data, added blank calendars, etc, but regardless, it's not working now. i don't remember if there was something specific i did to keep my custom colors assigned last time around. any thoughts? thanks.

Did you try to clear or bypass the cache ?
You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

If you are having an issue with reclaiming free space after deleting photos from your iPhone, use the steps in this article to assist -
If you get a "Not enough free space" alert on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Specifically -
Orphaned files might remain on your iOS device if it's physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, you might see a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device in the Capacity indicator in iTunes. Try these steps:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes. If you see the "Not enough free space" alert, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes. If you see the "Not enough free space" alert, continue to step 6.
Restore using iTunes.

If the calendar is connected to a server account, like Exchange, you cannot sync via iTunes. You need to connect to the server on your MacBook.
If it is not connected to a server account then you need to ensure syncing is set up in iTunes. This is in the Info tab for your selected phone in iTunes.

My phone is working fine. My wife's did last week but not now. I've turned phone off and rebooted. Also, when I try to "sign in using apple id " it tells me it could not sign in. Check network connection and try again. However the phone is connecting to my wifi network. Suggestions?

Using custom colors when I do not have it selected

I have a web page in a restricted folder on the server hosting my website. It contains several links to private functions I use to maintain my message board.
I experimented with the custom colors option under Tools|Options|Content|Colors by un-checking the "Allow pages to select their own colors, instead of using my selection above". It worked but could not return this specific page to using it's on colors for V/U Links.
Problem. Even after re-checking "Allow pages to select their own colors...", it still used whatever colors I but in the boxes for the UVLinks and the VLinks.
It is as if this specific page ignores the turning of the custom radio button on/off and always uses the custom colors and not the colors from the code in the page itself.
All three (3) radio buttons are checked.
Use system colors,
Underline links and,
Allow pages to choose their own colors.
Other pages seem to be using their own colors except this one page which is not public due to being password protected using .htaccess/.htpasswd on the server.
It worked fine until it played with turning this feature on/off now I cannot get it back to using the pages own colors.
Closed Firefox completely
Re-booted several times since this started.
This is a a new install on a new hard disk with a clean install of Windows XP Pro SP3

IPhone died, but came back: Now not backlit

Hello all,
So: I dropped my iPhone in some water (sigh), but after sitting in a bowl of uncooked rice for 3 days, it is now working again! Which is great.
But it's working with one major issue. The screen is now not backlit. When I turned it back on after its little rice bath, the phone booted up and it the screen was backlit for a couple seconds, then turned off. I can see everything on the phone and use it if I tilt it in the right light, but clearly that is not acceptable.
So what do you guys think? Should I let it sit for a few more days? Think the screen is hooped? Or maybe someone knows some sort of freaky screen/restore/button combo voodoo?
Anything input would be much appreciated.

Custom colors in FrameMaker 10 not being maintained when printing PDF using Distiller/Professional X

Hello all,
I am working my first tech writing job that requires printed material instead of just PDFs, and I am having problems with the logo colors when it comes to printing them.
I created the two color definitions in FrameMaker 10 (using colors Pantone 485 CVC and Pantone 281 CVC). These colors are used for diagram callouts and doc titles.
I recently upgraded to Distiller X and Acrobat Professional X, thinking that maybe the older versions just didn't support those colors, and I am still getting the same result. Instead of printing the colors I added, the PDF is printed with the default red and blue. FrameMaker is using the CMYK model.
I have a feeling that I just need to adjust some settings, but I don't know whether to adjust Distiller, Acrobat, or FrameMaker. Anyone else have issues when trying to use their company's colors? Any ideas on what might work?

I'm not even sure what printer we use since we send the PDFs out to be printed on a glossy paper (I'm new to the position so I don't have all the details yet). All I use is my Adobe PDF printer. I'm also not using FileMaker, I'm using FrameMaker since I am producing manuals that will be printed, not marketing material or anything with a lot of images. I am just trying to get the logo colors to appear correctly in the PDF so that when it does get printed off-site, the Pantone colors are seen and not the default in the final product. I will post this in the FrameMaker forum as well.

[iphone] Custom Icons in Tab Bars - Not Working

I'm trying to use my own icons on the Tab Bar because the Standard Icons do not fit with what what my menus display.
I've tried saving them as 30x30 black and white .png files, but for some reason the simulator and the device display the icon as a blue square. They will not show the .png.
I've also tried saving it as a .jpg and no dice. Anyone have insight as to why this is?

Here is a procedure that I used to create the tab icons using Photoshop. I am not a photoshop expert in any way so if there may be a shorter approach. The qist is to create a grayscale image with a mask layer, no background and export to png with transparency. After scouring the net for tips and suggestions, I gathered some pointers on twitter and iphone sdk message boards and narrowed down this procedure. So all credit to the original authors! Sorry - I did not keep track of them.
1 You need to create a single layer grayscale image and not worry about how the tab is displayed when it is active (blue background) and gray (inactive). That's handled in the SDK.
Create a grayscale image and save it s jpeg or gif. Delete the background completely
2. Open this image and select all and copy the image to your clipboard. Ensure that you can view the layers/channels/paths window (in Photoshop go to the WINDOW menu and check layers).
3. In the layers/channels window, you will see the layer labeled as "background"
(notice the lock icon on the right extreme)
4. Convert this "background" to a mask layer - double click on the lock icon.
A new layer window will pop up. click ok.
5. select the channels tab, and add an alpha channel by clicking on the small icon on the lower border of the layer/channels window -looks like circle within a rectangle. (it should say "save selection as channel" when you "mouseover" this icon. This message will not be displayed if you have not copied your original image to the clipboard.
6. You should now see two channels listed (Gray and Alpha).
7. Select the Alpha channel and paste from clipboard
8. ensure that both channels are selected for display and Invert the image -- will change colors - reddish tinge
9. Save for web devices, select transparency and png format and save
You can now drag this ping into xcode!

All syncing now not working.

It started with iCal not syncing. Now I can't do anything with it at all. I have tried all the recommended steps, then a few suggested by other users. Nothing worked. Lastly I tried unregistering my computers. But I can't even do that now. Posted the following as a comment to Apple. Dare say I won't get a reply. Seriously hacked off with the whole experience.
"My Mobileme account has stopped syncing completely. I have endlessly tried to follow the advice on your website and forums (where, in case you haven't bothered looking, there are vast numbers of other users with similar problems), and am now at a loss where to go. Frankly I am very ****** off at the lack of functionality of this product. Unable to contact you any other way.
This is the sort of thing I used to expect from Windows products. Now yours seem to be as bad. Shame on you."

I am having issues as well and agree this is quite frustrating. I am getting duplicate calendars on my iPhone as my iCal is correct but the MobileMe calendar seems to have the correct events but the actual calendars are all jacked up.
I would like to see more reliability and consistency in a product that is something that is very similar to what Google offers for free. I am not the biggest fan of Google but paying $99 and getting what seems to be less reliability is getting old fast.

our customers CI consists of mostly reddish colors. The default blue in the tab bar is totally a no-go here, the customer will just reject that. While I am able to put custom views in a navigation bar I haven't found anything like that in the tab bar api. Will I really have to roll my own tab bar just because of this?

thanks again. now i created a category for UITabBarItem where i re-implement the setImage method with something like

which seems to work.
and yes, apple's intentions are quite clear and laudable and you gave a reasonable explanation for a nice theory. however, this theory comes to a screeching halt when it hits a brick wall in form of a big company's chief marketing officer who gives a rats bum for user interface design theory and consistency and stuff. for him, a perfect world would be pink with the company's logo printed everywhere. and in my opinion apple should keep in mind that not everything can go their way, that they can hand out guidelines but that they have to provide alternatives.

The Apple ID exists. The email address you used to create it may not, but the Apple ID does. Call AppleCare and ask to speak to someone in account security.
