Iphone data connectivity issue

Me and my wife are having problems with our iphones data connectivty with 3g (for the iphone 4s) and 3g&LTE (for the iphone 5). Although the cellular signal is frequently 4 or five bars, most often than not, we cannot browse or use any app because the data connection seems hanged. We always resort to either enabling/disabling the airplane mode, turning the cellular data off and on OR turning off and on the device and the browsing will be normal again and our apps able to access the internet. This experience is becoming a disappointment and we hope you could help us. Im sure we are not an isolated case as most of my friends complain similar experience. Thanks in advance.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings.
If the issue continues, basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
It may also be necessary to contact the carrier to troubleshoot the issue.

  • IPhone 4 voice/data connection issues?

    I've had my iPhone 4 for around 6 months now. Lately I've been dropping a lot of out-going calls and have had some issues receiving calls in the last few days. Today I've had 3 voice mail notifications from people who have tried to call me and could not get through. It rings through to voicemail and sends me a notification after they're done recording. I have anywhere from 2 to 4 service bars, usually averaging at 3 in this location.
    On top of the voice and call issues, I've been having problems with GPS and location services lately, too. I use the Waze app for directions. My phone will register 3G data signal, but none of the apps that use GPS can find any location. I have Location Service turned on in settings and have no problem starting my routes when I have wifi signal at home before I leave.

  • Xml data connection issue.

    Hi all,
    I have created an XML data connection in xcelsious that reads data from xml file and creates the stacked bar chart. Also used connection refresh button to refresh the data from xml file.
    For using xml data connection we have to give the fix structure of xml file, like we have to add range according to the data source and also have to give the name of range in xml file.
    The issue is if data is changed at run time then the xml file structure will not be fixed, in that case bar chart shows only the data of the range given in xml data connection and new data is not shown by the connection.
    For example if we want to show the monthly revenue of some areas in stack bar chart, but the number of areas are not fixed. So we canu2019t fix the number of stacks [number of range] in xml data connection. In that case it only shows the no of areas that are fixed in xml data connection.
    Is there any way to change the range in xml data connection so new changed data can also be displayed in bar chart or is there some other way so we donu2019t have to fix the structure of xml file?

    I understand that you are receiving device timed out alerts in iTunes.  These are usually related to some type of USB conflict.  Here is a troubleshooting article that I would go through for this specific issue.

  • LUMIA 730 data connections issue found

            This is the second problem i have notified in my lumia 730 after 10 days usage. I can't find the data connection switch to turn off after surfing a long while in 2g connection. And the same appears after restarting the phone. My phone takes to much time for shutdown as it shows "GOODBYE" message for atleast 60 seconds.
    For information - I am using transcend 8gb class-2 SDHC memory card and i had stored 30apps (3.62gb apps including asphalt8). Please give me a solution to solve this issue.

    I just got my first W8P a Lumia 730 and after few days of usage I becoming to like it & almost recommend it to others until recenty. I am experiencing exactly the same problem like on this thread and on the shared screeshoots. During this state my phone's cellular+sim settings is deactivated by itself. My phone is unreachable and couldnt make an outgoing call even I had active networks & full networks coverage. If try to dial it doesnt call and it doesnt cancell my current dialed number. I have to restart the phone by hard pressing the switch to make it usable again. It takes something like 2 minutes to restart. When connecting to WiDi thru Miracast, it will disconnect after few seconds. I had 32gb class10 microSDHC attached, one of the best in the market as they advertized but I suffered accasional crashed. Checking your phone's network setting from time to time worrying that you may miss an important call is the last thing we want from our phone. I'd like to ask your technical support I supposed I am on the right site, please help us.

  • IPhone WiFi connection Issue

    After installing the 7.6.1 upgrade to my Air Port base station Time Capsule, my iPhone 4s and Lexmark printer can no longer connect via wifi. However my iPad1, MacBook Pro and Airport Express are all working fine.  My iPhone will connect perfectly to WiFI at work so this excludes a problem with the phone. However at home it sees the network but after entering the password to join it attempts to connect and comes back with the following error.  Ideas for resolving this dilemma are appreciated.

    Located the solution on a post from December 19th 2011.  It appears to be a comon problem with the Base station and iPhones.  Changing my Base Station to Channel 3 resolved the problem. No additional issues created with other devices that were already connected. (Lexmark printer, iPad, laptop are all working on the wifi network)  Harmony has returned to the universe...

  • Droid DNA Mobile Data Connectivity Issues

       I have the HTC Droid DNA, about 6 weeks old, and for some reason my phone has randomly started to lose connection to mobile data. I've never dropped it or spilled anything on it, so I don't understand why this is happening. I've tried turning my phone off and on again, changing the preffered network to global and back to LTE, and removing and re-inserting the SIM card..but it still randomly happens. My phone can be fine for a week and then it will randomly just disconnect from mobile data again.
       My first question is why do I pay for this when I have to sometimes wait for more than an hour for mobile data to come back? My second question is does anybody else with the DNA get this problem? I realize that when you have Wi Fi activated it would automatically disconnect you; however, this isn't related to my issue. I've turned Wi Fi off and that's when I get the mobile data disconnected issue. This HAS to be corrected. I'm not paying over $100 a month for data when I can't even use it when I need to.

    Hello, I have been having issues with my iPhone 5C for about a month now. I have unlimited everything, including data, & so randomly, starting about 2 weeks ago, my data basically does not work for any apps, besides like iMessage & Safari. So like if I have full LTE signal, I can try to open the Instagram app, and it will tell me "no internet connection", & it tells me that with ANY app, besides iMessage & Safari. Which is super frustrating, especially when I try to use like Maps or something & it jut does not load, & tells me that "there is not an internet connection", so I have to use apps & stuff only on wifi, in order for them to work. I went to the Sprint store, and had them try and update the data profile, reset data network, soft reset, etc (they basically did everything that I did), & they could NOT figure out what was wrong with my phone. So, they looked into my warranty information, and told me to take my phone to the Apple Store, and just get a replacement & that it would cost me only $50, since it is still covered under warranty. I am not up for an upgrade until April of 2016, & as far as I know, when it comes to replacements, Apple will either give me a new/refurbished iPhone 5C as a replacement. I don't really mind having to pay a little extra if I have to, in order to get a 5S , & I also don't care if the 5S would be either new or refurbished. So, my question is, could I maybe get a 5S as a replacement, instead of another 5C?

  • IPhone 5s connection issues with iTunes, mail, internet

    Hi,
    Recently (yesterday), my phone stopped receiving new email on my multiple accounts (gmail, yahoo, etc.) I would open the mail app on my phone and get multiple pop up windows saying, "Cannot Get Mail, The connection to the server failed." I had similar trouble when I  then tried using other apps that use the internet, Safari, facebook. Keep in mind that both my mac book pro and device are connected to my wi-fi network. My mac book pro can access the internet and receive mail. I thought maybe connecting my device to iTunes would help, however my device can not be recognized by iTunes.   Upon connecting my device via USB iTunes would immediately say "Itunes cannot connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to this device." I then turned on my iPhone only to see a window saying "Trust This Computer?  Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected"  I selected Trust multiple times but this keeps poping up. 
    Any help would be greatly appreicated.

    This sounds like you may be experiencing a self-assigned IP address.  Try power cycling your router and testing the results.  If the issue persists, I would recommend going through all of the steps in the article below.

  • IPhone data connectivty issues

    Over the past few weeks (3-4) my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS will appear to randomly drop all network connectivity.  The symptoms appear that there is no Internet connectivity for any functions on the phone regardless if I am on WiFI, 3G, or LTE.  In doing some troubleshooting it is not that I have lost all IP connectivity.  The real problem is that the DNS stack is not resolving FQDNs any longer.  I can connect to websites via IP in a browser but nothing via a FQDN.  My only option is to reboot the phone which is a horrible option as this happens 2-3 times a week.  Has anyone else come across this?  My iPhone was fine until iOS 8 but once I upgraded this came about.  I must say iOS 8.x seems like crap.

    I've been experiencing a similar issue the past couple days or so after updating my phone to the latest version. It seems to work as I move from my home WiFi to LTE to my work WiFi, but after I leave work is when my connectivity drops. All the signs of connectivity say I'm connected. It shows full bars and LTE. I try toggling the phone to airplane mode, toggling cellular data, bluetooth, WiFI and it seems the only way to correct it is to restart my phone. Which, I completely agree, is a horrible option.

  • Iphone 6 connectivity issue

    I have a new iPhone 6. Had a 5s before. Still have it. Had the same issue with both. I work in an office that does not get an ATT signal in my office. When I leave the office and go to where there is a good signal, I have an issue with both iPhones where it could connect to the carrier signal quickly or take up to 8 minutes to finally get a signal. I also have a blackberry that when I do the same thing, the blackberry connects to the signal immediately. I've called apple about the issue and they said it's a carrier issue and reset network settings or do a restore. I've reset network setting several times to not avail. Don't believe it's a carrier issue as the blackberry does not exhibit this behavior.
    Anyone else see anything like this? Any ideas on what might be happening or anything to fix this? Thanks.

    Ya, airplane mode is an option but it shuts all the radios down including WiFi. I need WiFi for imessage and email. I have used airplane on and off to regain signal and it works immediately. Just not something I should have to do or think about to regain signal quickly.

  • How to troubleshoot iphone 5s connectivity issue with iTunes on Windows 7

    When I connect my new iPhone 5s to my Windows 7 home edition PC with the latest version of iTunes, the PC recognizes it. From My Computer I can see a new item "iPhone", which can be opened to show internal storage (photos). However iTunes never sees my phone. If I run diagnostics from iTunes it reports that no devices are found. In the meanwhile, my iPad can connect and get recognized by iTunes without any problem.
    What is missing?

    Okay I found the solution - I'm still surprised this actually worked - which is to connect the phone through a powered USB hub. That's it! iTunes finally wakes up and syncs my phone!

    I've had this problem for a long time now, ever since I got my Iphone 4s. I have searched the forums but didn't find anything like that yet. My Iphone will have no problem connecting to my wifi or 3G at anytime. But what happens is that I can't go on any links on google chrome nor see anything that requires Internet (happens about 50% of the time, the other 50% of the time the Internet works fine). The way to fix this is to close all the apps first, then open google chrome again and then the links start showing. This gets very frustrating when I have to do this all the time and I hope there's a fix for this. Another example is the facebook app, it would open it, but I won't be able to see any pictures. Then i'll have to close everything again, then reopen facebook, then I'll start seeing the images again. I would not need to disable et reconnect to my wifi / 3G at any given time. I just need to constantly close all my apps to "refresh" the connection...
